I’ve been clean and sober for 28 years one day at a time. The difference I found between people with long term sobriety and people with struggle with sobriety, is the people that stay sober have the ability to rigorously honest with themselves, regardless if they’re in a 12 step programs. But, 12 steps programs have tools for living if you choose to use them.

As a keyboardist I can see that this talent has many many levels of talent combined with years of experience from both the singer and accompanying artist and in her case both.
My son was an addict and died in October 2021. I didn't get to say goodbye. I had this beautiful song played at his funeral. I listen to it constantly now and remember him.

I'll NEVER forget the first time I heard this song when it was released! I grew up in a house of domestic violence where the misery and tears of physical and emotional abuse rained down on me a cold, dark and painful shroud. I marched into mid-life with that shroud cutting its own trench of misery and tears - SADLY so. With the help of many people (angels), I was defrocking that shroud when I heard this song. When the song finished, I sat gob-smacked, not knowing that rivers of tears were flowing. In that moment, I realized just how darn lucky I was for having angels steering me towards living life more fully in the light of non-violent love AND for the first time, this then 40-something male experienced tears of joy. I treasure that moment! Over time and regardless the rendition Sarah sings, this song still 'gets me' the same way. I will always TREASURE this song! THANK YOU, SARAH, THANK YOU!!!
I have the same sentiments as you do. I am grateful you came through and lasted to seen what the end would be. That is why I believe music. It is therapy for all of our four bodies, and only angels know how to minister to those bodies - through angels. Songs have saved me from many things that I was not even aware of at the moment, but when it was time, I realized it and knew why the song was sent to me at that specific time. I believe in Light - where angels come from. This is one of the loveliest songs I ever heard and Sarah sings from such a deep, deep place in her soul.

This is one of those songs that people shouldn’t touch. In a way it’s like My Heart Will Go On in the fact that anyone besides Celine singing it reduces it to a cheesy mess while she brings just enough of *something* to the song to keep it from being the cheeseball it is with other singers. But in the case of Angel, it feels like no one puts just the right mixture of emotions into it like Sarah does. It usually feels like singers make it overly sad just for the sake of being depressing. Sarah seems to sing it with a reverence that’s missing in every cover I’ve ever heard.
Sarah released this song right around the time I was pregnant with my firstborn - my son - this will always remind me of those 9 months that God, his father, and myself helped to create the miracle that he is today. This is just one of the many reasons Sarah is my favorite singer. Thank you Sarah for sharing your gift with the world, 🙏🏼❤️
The funniest part of this song is that the world fell in love with the melody and the word angel and didn't even figure out what the arms of the angel actually is. The song is clearly about addicts and their reasoning and the arms of the angel is the fix that gives them comfort and release from the pain they feel every day.

This song brings lots of meaning to me as i lost my daughter at the age of 27 ten years ago as she took her life . But i know she is in heaven with the angels she worked at a place that helped handicap children. every time they would see her their eyes would light up and she loved them even more ! I know she has been gone for 10 years now but this time of year i miss her so much and wish i could hear her laugh one more time ! as it said on her head stone GOING HOME with angels hands reaching down for her . love you and miss you Amy ! About to perform for an arena full of people. And, I stood at the side of the stage watching a part of your show. Two morning show DJs, Humble and Fred, on CFNY FM in Toronto sponsored their “Acoustic Christmas” show around December 1993. I recall the show was at the Danforth Music Hall (old theatre venue with an open floor in front of the stage). Sarah was one of the performers that night. What an awesome experience to hear her beautiful voice so close up.

I was on the road with my band in the Southern States of the US during in 1999 and I fell in love with this song .....I must have played it 10,000 times or more probably and never grew tired of it . In those despondent days when things and situations and feelings clambered up on you , I would put this on my personal stereo and head phones and close my eyes and everything would somehow calm down and I'd feel the stress and worry just drift away . She's not only a beautiful person in all respects, with a hauntingly beautiful voice, but one of he absolute best poets of my long, long life. Of course, I knew Angel, when it was first released, but my life has taken me in so many directions at once - so many times - that's only recently that I've had the opportunity to be absolutely awed by Sarah. And the only two things that I must do everyday is sing Angel and I Will Remember You several times each. Some think of the latter song as something simple, but there is so much hidden meaning in it that it pairs so well with Angel.

Im listening to you before you wrote this album before maybe two albums before. This song sends me to a space that I can’t explain. I truly can’t and I just wish I could be there for all of life. It’s a place of peace and understanding in resolute . I just hear more and more out of it every time I hear it and now there’s this version . And now there at your piano, you blew something out of the water that I didn’t think could be touched.. Or raised any higher. That said, I’m gonna listen to it again thank you so much.

I was on the road with my band in the Southern States of the US during in 1999 and I fell in love with this song .....I must have played it 10,000 times or more probably and never grew tired of it . In those despondent days when things and situations and feelings clambered up on you , I would put this on my personal stereo and head phones and close my eyes and everything would somehow calm down and I'd feel the stress and worry just drift away . @@logandogan272 -- When they sing crap music, it's difficult to know whether they might have some vocal talent hidden under there somewhere... Sometimes, their talent slips our despite their best crap music efforts to hide it though... For example, Miley Cyrus... I was pretty convinced that she had no talent and then I heard her "Backyard Sessions" on TH-cam and realized that hidden underneath that leftist whack-job is a voice that had potential if she was actually singing *good* music...
She's not only a beautiful person in all respects, with a hauntingly beautiful voice, but one of he absolute best poets of my long, long life. Of course, I knew Angel, when it was first released, but my life has taken me in so many directions at once - so many times - that's only recently that I've had the opportunity to be absolutely awed by Sarah. And the only two things that I must do everyday is sing Angel and I Will Remember You several times each. Some think of the latter song as something simple, but there is so much hidden meaning in it that it pairs so well with Angel.

I just watching Mandy in the making,about cooking food. Mandy and her husband Steven were chatting about their lives,to cut a long story short,the night he proposed,he played this song. I just had to look it up and listen. It's 1am UK time in the morning and I have tears in my eyes. It's just a lovely song. I had heard it before but not with Sarah singing it....it was beautiful...it made me think of my dear sweet mom and dad,who are both passed away now..god rest their souls.🙏 Thank you.
