- Hi guys! Sorry its been a while but im back and this is the first mod for the daily! Just wanted to make it sound abit more exciting and this was a nice easy mod! Hope you all enjoy the video!

I have the c320 CDI and have the dpf deleted and back box deleted and it honestly sounds nutty dpf is the noise killer !

@@deniscangollari8297my e280 cdi with hard remap to 265-270hp and dpf off and doesnt make a single smoke, when it had dpf it used to make white smelly smoke
Did this on my buddy's E280 cdi with the same engine but was no difference. Was like the most quiet vaccum cleaner but yours is nice!

@@JKV. There is no such thing as a 3.2L V6 both are 3.0L OM642
Bro e280 sounds even better than a e420 if theyre both stock in sound, theyre not quiet mine is stock and im hopefully removing the dpf soon and it sounds nice and loud and has some little pops on idle

Your E Class isnt the one that rust`s . That was most cars from 1998 - 2002 because they used a different steel grade. Luckily these w211`s are ok apart from surface stuff thats to be expected.

Thank you bud, when it comes to mot back boxes make no difference to how its tested however cats will be a fail due to emissions but i tend to put the cat back on for mot so i dont have a problem 😁

@@glenister4178 if you watch the vid you'll see that this car doesn't have a DPF at all. There's an elastic joint where the DPF would normally go ;) UK-spec OM642 W211s didn't have a DPF quite often

Its a must do mod on these. I did the same to mine and would definitely recommend it.
did u see any fuel economy changes?
@mikededeaux4915 yeah initially it was drinking more.... only because I was putting my foot down a lot more to enjoy the sound. After things calmed down and my driving back to normal. I didn't really notice any difference in fuel economy changes.
What year is your v6 cdi? I'm looking to replacing my 09 v6 cdi/bluetec with a pre dpf v6 ecu.

can the e320 cdi handle short trips to work 7 days a week. like 6 miles to work.
So long you take it out in the weekend for a 30 minute drive on a 80-90kmph trip and downshift in gear to keep rpm 2000-2400, you'll get 300k km out of the factory dpf. If you're only driving it to work and don't drive long distance at least twice a month, get a small engine petrol car or a cheapo electric.

@@houseofmods think you need to do something with the intake aswell as the downpipe too to get the cooo on them.
Im now considering a cooper S that could be the drink talking thou lol. looking forward to seeing the metro again Mr house keep up the good work
It actually has a k&n intake fitted by previous owner, once i modify the downpipe i think it will be perfect! Thanks bud appreciate you watching 👊🏻
@@houseofmods just watched a video on the downpipe mod the original is like the same size as a dpf and quite restrictive by the look of it. anyway he replaced it with a 3" steel piece and welded the sensor holes in can share it if you want to take a look?

how do you think one would go using a 75 rather than the 60?

@@houseofmods you mentioned adding a 15 degree bend to centre the 60 degree bend, wouldnt it be logical that a 75 degree bend would centre the pipe?
@@88kwthomas that is possible yes however its not so easy to find 75 degree bends and easier to source 60 and 15s 👍

Nope mine was a v6 as it was on the cross over to facelift
The straight 6 w211 was late 2002 - early 2006, the V6 then from early 06 to the end.

How does this have the v6 when that engine was only used in the facelift w211's?
They did about 6 months of the preface v6 with the 7g transmission 😁
@@houseofmods Never knew that learnt something new there, I had the facelift with the v6 om642 I was always under the impression all pre facelifts had the inline 6 so that's a very unique car you got there sir lol

@@houseofmods Yeah a hell of a lot of car for the money, I been in an Audi for the last 2 years but I just bought another Mercedes as there awesome I went for the e350 bluetec amg sport saloon had to get that v6 diesel torque back in my life.
Oh yes! Very good value for money and the e350 is great with a stage 1 map on it!

What are these things like to run
VERY expensive, lucky if they'll do low 30's in mpg on motorway. They eat tyres like I've not known before and anything needing doing on the engine - £££ in labour.
Common issues with these can be ball joints - about 200 per pair for genuine ones (factor part's just don't last) swirl flap motor can get destroyed by oil leak from turbo and the swirl flap linkages are all plastic. Big job to get at those plus whilst that deep you might as well do the common oil cooler seals as they tend to leak (if the original/ early orange seal's).
I love mine though, I wouldn't be without it.
Mine averaged 44mpg and never had any reliability issues, depends if you get one with good service history etc
@@houseofmods I'm hoping to get around 40mpg soon - the swirl flaps on the left bank were shut which was causing all sorts of issues. I haven't driven since we put it back together though.
Mines got fsh and apart from tyres and fuel consumption it's been absolutely faultless in fairness but it's now at the mileage (170) where thing's are starting to fail.
