Concord Beta Impressions - Is It Worth Buying?

- I will be discussing my Concord beta impressions with Kirk from @whatsnewvideogames after a good amount of time spent with Concord beta gameplay. If you are considering diving into Concord gameplay, the beta was extended by 1 day, and there is another one in the future. But does my Concord review drive me to purchase the game?
Concord is an upcoming first-person hero shooter game developed by Firewalk Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is scheduled to release for PlayStation 5 and Windows on August 23, 2024.

Lono doesn't realize that the game has deathball counters. A number of heroes have big AOE damage abilities that counters your 3 v 1 strategy. That strategy won't work once the player base understands the game. Right now everyone is playing is wrong.
Agreed I didn’t learn about the buffs till later, also the little old lady aoe circle bomb is clutch
This is the type of game where you have to be invested to learn the gameplay.
I disagree with Lono saying death ball is caveman play. No, COD, BF, Halo, Fortnight, Apex, Destiny PVP is unga bunga dude bro brain dead gameplay. Games like Valorant, Overwatch and this encourage tactical team play where at times you can feel like a hero taking out just about half the opposing team by catching them off guard and playing smart.
Just say this is not your type of game and stop making out to be like it's INHERENTLY wrong for games like these to be existing. People who like TEAM BASED hero shooter's are just built different.
The hero abilities took a huge back seat and we just used guns, and won, consistently. It's boring.
@@ReforgeGaming Of course you did from absolutely 0 videos you put out of gameplay. That's just it, you find it boring because you're not using the hero abilities at a consistent bases. IDK, maybe you're being match made with a bunch of bots. My games, I consistently see my team as well as the enemy team using abilities. Like I said, the way you play games is built different, most likely noobish.

If you're getting team shot as you put it by everybody that means you're out of position and playing this like it's CoD. This is a team shooter. You work together. I won't thumb this video down because he was great but I can't give it a thumbs up.
I never said it was a problem tho... I did it, and won. It's boring and won't last. That's my point. I wasn't mad that I was getting team shot, lol.
@@ReforgeGaming Your interview was terrible. You were looking for any excuse to say the game was bad. You tried to gas light that guy to double up on your terrible points like "Oh, people rage quit, so that means the game sucks right?" and he didn't buy any of that nonsense.
Terrible takes and all you have to say is this is not my style of game because everybody is saying the game is fun.
Will it last, I don't know and I don't care because I don't support the woke agenda but the gameplay itself is very good.

They told me this is like overwatch , 8 mn in this video the explanation is that is very different from overwatch . That you need time to learn how every character work with each other. INTERESTING

Yes go play Titan fall Fortnite or apex as a new player when everyone around understands the game , you just get bodied and give up
Yeah I think some games maybe deathball but abilities matter most you see tons of walls and spores you can’t just run death ball through there’s counters.
Once a matchmaking system is implemented it’s going to change the strategy
Petition to start a fund to get Kirk a voice compressor.
I tried so hard to adjust on the fly... he goes from fairly quiet to really loud. I will use the OBS compressor next show.

What is this guy talking about? It's a team based hero shooter, of course ppl will be working together to take out the opposition. And what game was he playing because everyone was definitely using abilities in every match. I outplayed ppl with Haymar's abilities consistently for example. Cutting off someone's retreat with fire or blinding someone and then floating above them while they frantically search 4 me lol. Idk maybe ur just bad. Or if hero shooters aren't your thing just say that

Nah it's a actually good game
I love the game. There’s only a couple things that need to be ironed out. 1) Faster movement. 2) weapon damage optimized. Some characters shred while others don’t 3) firing range so that people can ACTUALLY learn the freegunners. Overall the game has a good backbone and a lot of potential but has a lot of hurdles to jump.
1-You can get faster movement but the variants.
2- every hero is different, that is the point
3- agreed needs a playground to actually learn wth is going on
I don't get lono's complaint about being a team kill game, isn't that the point of the game? Really you shouldn't be running around alone.
Teamwork is important but you also need to be able to be successful alone. Overwatch has heros that accel with flanking and playing in the heat of battle. Team shooting shouldnt be the only viable option (have not played just going be the comments).
He couldn’t stop analyzing the game from a different typer of shooter perspective. Which is his choice but this game is going for something different
I saw potential after playing and learning the game , but initially I thought the game was eh till I figured out what was going on

It's refreshing seeing a video game podcast that actually has a discussion about a video game. All of the others never do that

@@iph2 yes most gaming podcast aren't even a discussion they are just 1-2 people saying there opinion. Then they move on. I really like how this was a full blown discussion. It'd be cool to see these 2 do that for most major releases. ie Star Wars outlaws, Black myth wukong, Quittich, Space marine, Cod

Made by ex-destiny devs, tons of reused abilities from destiny and guns are the same
Lono will certainly buy it being a content creator but I don't see this game getting a audience
It has already reached a massive peak player count of 1,200 modern audiences' players.
Just by watching the gameplay I think it's an okay type of hero shooter with nice graphics.
My concerns are:
1) It feels like it's made with DEI in mind because there are pronouns and there is not a single character that looks cool or attractive, male or female. There is even a fat guy that looks like a girl.
2) They say they are making new videos every week for content. Does that mean they won't increase the number of heroes for a while because they making a story every week?
3) I'm doubting this games' longetivity.

Is the previous character buff only a one time thing whenever you change character after death? Or say you select the fast character and then move on to your favorite one and the buff stays active until the end of the match? If it's the former, I can see this as an innovative incentive to switch things up regularly, interesting if well balanced and it just comes down to player preference, otherwise I'm sure people will find a way to min max a rotation, write a guide and ruin it for everybody. If it's the latter, it's a little weird indeed and could have been implemented in a different way
Nope buff carry’s on to every character I just don’t know if you use a variant of same character will it add another buff ? Or does it have to be a completely different character

The time to kill from the gameplay in the background is too slow. Even Overwatch isnt that slow.
This game could be huge. It all depends of the devs.
from what it sounds like the gaming media is trying to save concord. i tried to like the game but it was not fun for me.

The minute they revealed the gameplay, with woke DEI characters with virtue signalling and pronouns, that killed the game for me and I will not buy this. I refuse to buy Sweet Baby Inc social agenda trash, pushing their identity politics trash.

I think the game will be flat within a month maybe two after release. I have thousands of hours in destiny and this doesn't move the needle at all, I just don't see it having legs whatsoever. It's a game that will come and go like a fart in the wind once blops 6 drops especially
