You can already tell this game is DOA by the pre-order numbers. Originally the beta on PlayStation was only available to people who pre-ordered the game, but right before the beta, they made it available to anyone with PS Plus. If they had to open their beta to have a viable population count, you know the game is doomed.
Why they even bother then. If hitscan consistent damage characters in your game are bad, just stick to bursty and projectile characters. Like, in TF2, there is literally only one class that has hitscan non-burst weapon (Heavy) and TF2 is still peak game design class-wise

They have like zero situational awareness, they miss like 80% of the shots they fire, and they favor the most basic characters. I think it’s just Game Journalists atm. As for the game. I want a hero shooter where the devs look at all the characters abilities and all abilities that have similarities to each other have combinations for stronger abilities to encourage fun team play like overwatch used to have before they added broken characters and people left.

Something I immediately noticed when you started playing is this game has what I call "dubstep sound design" where every weapon, equipment, and explosion has this deep, boomy electronic sound to it. I love Doom 2016 but not everything needs to sound like it, but for the past 8 years everything seems to have gone that route.
I’ve noticed a pattern with streamers in which they are bad at reload management. They don’t take cover and often end up doing it right in front of an enemy.
coming from the perspective of a character artist, this games cartoony character designs do not fit at all with the realistic tone theyre going for. so many of the characters in this have this horrific polar express quality to them that i find fascinating.

TF2 set the standard for class shooter personalities like 17 years ago and these big companies still struggle to make memorable characters, the only game that even came close to that was overwatch its like even if i planned to play concord i still wouldn't remember anything about any of the characters except for maybe their niche like tank, sniper and shit like that

I absolutely despise this modern FPS games' sound design, it's sounds so repetitve, every single new game uses the same sounds, no realism, no mid range, only bass and high frequencies, no character to the sound at all, sounds so horribly generic...
Worse, there's some I'd say are clones of Paladins characters, which was called "poor man's overwatch" when it launched.(I actually liked some of the things it did, though, like customization of hero abilities) Alien cat thing with smg is just Talus, and black chick with knives is Maeve. It's so soulless...
I liked the part where you played soldier 76 then you played Sombra, then you played mcree, then you played widow, then you played junkrat, then you played Reinhart and bastion at the same time, then you played roadhog.. that was so cool

Multi-player games in my opinion have been in a weird state for awhile now, it's either you pay for a solid game (not saying this is I've never played it) that will eventually phase out or you play free games and feel like you're not getting the full experience

They have like zero situational awareness, they miss like 80% of the shots they fire, and they favor the most basic characters.

Are you referring to the PSN PC requirement they tried to implement? I can’t exactly speak on that as I don’t own HD2 and rarely use Steam nowadays, but I think that was an awfully greedy tactic which only served to damage Arrowhead’s reputation, even though they would have had zero involvement.

Something I immediately noticed when you started playing is this game has what I call "dubstep sound design" where every weapon, equipment, and explosion has this deep, boomy electronic sound to it. I love Doom 2016 but not everything needs to sound like it, but for the past 8 years everything seems to have gone that route.
This game feels like a slow Unreal Tournament that was stuck in development hell for 15 years. Would've been a banger in 2009

coming from the perspective of a character artist, this games cartoony character designs do not fit at all with the realistic tone theyre going for. so many of the characters in this have this horrific polar express quality to them that i find fascinating.
