Thank you for sharing this info on this car Boxster 718 T. Now I know it is very good to know options and I would perfer the Boxster S 718 with 350 hp or 365 hp GTS!

Manual is not the option to go for on 718. You end uo driving in 2nd gear all tje time, the ratios are dumb. Just get the PDK

Looks pretty damned quick for 2L swept capacity and 300bhp / 280 ft lbs. I daresay like a lot of turbo engines perhaps it is making more from the factory? it got up to 165mph nicely :) Good vid.
Booked a cayman T nearly 6 months ago and I am still waiting for delivery.

During the break in period I was hesitant to judge since I didn’t pass 4k rpm and didn’t send it but now I can say it’s truly an “animal” between 5000rpm and 7000 the engine screams and in sport plus the downshifts are a joy. It’s different of course than the 4.0 na and it’s not a GT3 ☺️ but it’s epic in it’s own category. How about you did you get delivery and if yes what do you think about the T

How would you compare the engine sound and exhaust note of the T to the 981 cayman flat 6 are they different only in the tone or also in their loudness in other words is the 981 engine and exhaust note louder than in the T
981 sounds a lot better, but that's pretty much it.
This is kind of premium exotic miata :D

PDK is better I tested these car and quicker with launch control.
PDK all the way.
PDK is a heavy pig. if you want faster, configure a 2.5L S with 20mm s-pasm. pdk is just heavier and shifts faster, does not add to enjoyment.

Yep, had mine for 6 weeks now, partially influenced by this review. Thank you!! It is amazing. Just don't want to get out of it. Ok so I loved my flat 6 Boxster S but not missing it AT ALL. I love the noise. It has character. I know I'll miss the howl only very occasionally (like rare trips to the twisties in the south of France with mates).Yep, shoot me if you like but 99% of the time TBH you look a bit stupid making lots of noise (albeit a nice noise!) and being left for dead by a totally silent Tesla. You just look all mouth and no trousers.
It handles, 'tight like a tiger 🐅 '.

This is where I was at in 2015 with my 14 Boxster S and I passed on the GTS even though I loved it. I always regretted it. I wanted the Spyder version but no PDK with that model typically.

One good reason for the PDK.
Even with manual you don't get the manual experience as you end up driving in 2nd gear all the time. Just get the PDK it's brilliant.

Sounds like any other over stressed 4 cylinder. No matter the RPM, it always sounds like it wants to die. Its a shame I can have the same feeling in regards to the engine sound in my 150hp Seat.

Sure, good luck trying to rev your Seat FR over your limit of 6000rpm, while this one goes up to 7500rpm
The JDM WRX STI with the 8000rpm engine (No rumble) sounded better than the 718, at least for me (Almost feels like it has a NA engine's intake)

@@DSP1337 Listen to an Aprilia RSV4 or Yamaha R1. 4-cylinder bike engines can sound good, when their are V4s or crossplane. They sound pretty similar to V8s.
