This game has a lot going for it already, the modular buildings and the "lived in" feels of the paths evolving with time for instance, it's really cool to see it develop even more.
It looks like this game is implementing a ton to keep it from being just another of the flock of "keep a band of hungry settlers alive" colony builders being made these days. It's starting to shape up into having some real kingdom management features, and it's really got my interest!
It's honestly really great if you like micro-managing, but you can also kinda just sit back, press a few buttons, lay down some buildings, and watch everything expand, and really only manage some trade and production to keep you going
I'd say spend the money now to support the developers of this amazing game! Truly this is like a more advanced Kingdoms and Castles, while also maintaining it's own style and not trying to look too realistic.
I'd get it now, I've had it for a few months and it's great! There's a modding community that's in-game rather than on the workshop, but the community is amazing from what I've seen
"Was this game really this 'jaggy'?" was exactly how I felt about 2002's Neverwinter Nights PC game when they came out with the Enhanced Edition in 2019 for consoles. "Did I really love this game THAT much? My character looks like he is built by stacking potatoes together..."
there is an old game from 97 or 98 called knights and merchants that had the partial materials construction mechanic, they have it on steam and it runs on modern systems if anyone wants to check it out
i love the new UI, buit you don't acctually need a grannary to sell the berries, you only need a market, the tenders will grab berries from the gather hut. Also, villagers prefer to live close to Wells, Markets and Churches primary.
If you click + under villagers menu, a drop down appears, with buttons to temporarily disable immigration, along with controls for housing upgrades and "densification"
I've had my eye on this game, I hope they keep up work on it! The UI was for sure something keeping me from really getting into this game, I'll have to give it a try!
You actually can put the well in the village center. The villagers can still bring and take stuff from the center if you build it right there. I've been doing that ever since the game came out and I've had no problems.
The game looks awesome, i had already heard about it without seeing gameplay and stuff. But after seeing the video it's clear that this game is way more complex (in a good way), profound, elaborate, and offer way more features that what i was expecting it to be. A very good surprise, the only difficulty is to keep preventing myself from touching the game before the official release :)
This game looks like it's going to suck life away as you constantly feel the need... *TO MAXIMIZE PRODUCTION EFFICIENCY* You're constantly going to be getting dopamine releases in your brain going "yes good, keep expanding cheese production. Build another charcoal hut. Assign more treasuries. SELL ALL BERRIES HOLY FUCK WE DOBT NEED ALL THESE BERRIES." Factorio also had this problem And I LOVE IT!
I 've just finished a city looking like the Game of Thrones King's Landing using this game, that took a lot to do and it is on my channel. I love this game, is relaxing. 🙂
Also, the problem with going back to old games for me isn't usually graphics but controls. Like when I tried to go back and play Descent and I forgot how to play "keyboard only". Or any of the other first person shooters of the day, like Heretic, Hexen, etc. I definitely need to go back and re-learn those old controls.....lol.
I loved this game but had to stop playing it because the UI was just not there. I just decided to randomly check in because I have the itch to play some citybuilder games, and lo and behold, total UI update? Oh yes. I can't wait to see how this game has changed and improved. I am of the same mind as you, that this game is definitely something special.
Before I played foundation, I had spent hundreds of hours playing Cities Skylines and Kingdoms and Castles, and let me tell you the original UI for this game was so overwhelming. I can't Imagine what it must be like for people not used to city builders.
If you mean like PVP, that wouldn't really work because of how LONG it takes to even get your first soldier, let alone supply chain to support an army. Along with that there is no system currently in place or planned to have visible combat, other than sending troops on a mission. You can't even defend your village yet, but then again there is no threat. I just don't see how multiplayer would be implemented.
So like Becastled but better graphics. Literally the same animation for grabbing food, the same shaped buildings, the shape of the territory you hold etc.
I've been keeping an eye on this one too. There's another channel I watch that does full play throughs of this too, I like the UI changes, before it was pretty rough.
Looks like the game is missing pirates, bandits, enemy kingdoms, animals, weather events and natural disasters. Game would also benefit from having options of enabling/disabling magic, monsters, magical items and heroes.
Great video, but a lot of misinformations. First of all u can't accept or deny villagers they auto join if the housing , employment, happiness are above average. The villagers start as newcomers and they get promoted to serf etc.
@dev null Tbh this channel is really good, with good informations about games but he messed up on this. In the rest this channel is really good and tbh i really like splat. He has all my respect.
Love your video's save me loads of time and reading, however lego's isn't a thing it's just lego (Swedish for "to play") and you pronounce it wrong FYI lol leh-go if it helps and care, creeeeeeeek haha anyhow keep up the good vids
ARGH! Why is my market tender not going to get berries? I've got berries assigned in the market. I have berries in the Granary (and set to "accept"). And yet, nothing is selling. She's not grabbing them. meh :)
has no programmers evr thought of creating a "market" for technicians.. say your carpenters build something.. but some of them are better than others.. and you have to hire them, find them or spend time "training" them... same with any trade in the city or countryside.. or soldiers... etc every building game i play feels like a self perpetuating autocracy
Constantly getting stuck with housing; my villagers will build maybe 3 houses then they go on strike claiming ‘insufficient housing’ despite having a half-dozen available sites in good housing areas. Frustrating & disappointing
This game has a lot going for it already, the modular buildings and the "lived in" feels of the paths evolving with time for instance, it's really cool to see it develop even more.
Even if you aren't great at city planning this game automatically makes it look like a work of art.
After this video the most important feature in games became the texture of the trees.
It looks like this game is implementing a ton to keep it from being just another of the flock of "keep a band of hungry settlers alive" colony builders being made these days. It's starting to shape up into having some real kingdom management features, and it's really got my interest!

I've sank at least 200 hrs into the game. Its a great City builder especially after you expand into more territory

'Fluvial' learned a new word today, tyvm. A Gamer and a Scholar 👌
its from something like fluvia meaning river in latin.
Hopefully there will be a series on this game. I remember the first time you cover it I was so hooked. I like how pretty the textures are.
Remind me of an old Java game called "The Village" back on the old cellphone, man it's good to see the childhood in new form.
I put this game down a year ago. I tried it again yesterday and it is outstanding. It's really fun.
I just picked this up the other day based on your previous video. Thanks for all the great suggestions!
I appreciate the proper annunciation of crick.
there is an old game from 97 or 98 called knights and merchants that had the partial materials construction mechanic, they have it on steam and it runs on modern systems if anyone wants to check it out
One small thing they really need to implement asap is being able to show the coverage of your wells and markets.
I love making roads but the desire path system in this game is amazing
Red circle around certain buildings represents negative influence on land value, green is positive. They'll walk pretty far to harvest.
*Villager path blocked*
This game just answered my questions in dnd

Love this game! I really want to get it so I'm super glad that you have brought some additional cover of it
This is a solid game. I own it and my wife requested it as well so I bought her it also. Money well spent for a mid evil builder :)
(Medieval.) But hell yeah, I totally agree. This game is so good. Thank god they updated the UI though because it was a pain.
@@ObeyCamp Indeed & "Thank Devs, not invisible Deity ;)" :P Supporting this also with sharing good word around Wicked Wide Web
16:19 - ohmylife, yesss. I've been graced with Splat's medieval 'royal' voice once again, 😂🙌 albeit for only a couple of seconds.

I always pre plan enough space so that I have 6 market stand In the center and a well on top. Along with some decorations mods it looks amazing

Great potential. Cute and well done with original concepts. Great work on these videos BTW. God bless you. Best regards from Ireland.

That red circle around the industrial buildings indicates how it will affect your residential area
this is so fun to watch n helpful thank u!! i think im gonna get it i love how lively this game looks
Within two minutes? first maybe second? Love your channel man! been watching for some time now.
Hey! Sun's out, buns out!
It's amazing how many building games haven't learned from Command and Conquer. THEY MADE LIKE 15 OF THEM! YOU GAME DEVS HAVEN'T PLAYED 1?!
"Crick" for life!
you can build the well just right on top of those starting resources
Also, the problem with going back to old games for me isn't usually graphics but controls. Like when I tried to go back and play Descent and I forgot how to play "keyboard only". Or any of the other first person shooters of the day, like Heretic, Hexen, etc. I definitely need to go back and re-learn those old controls.....lol.

Looks promising, thanks Splat 💓

You should be a VA, Splat sire... @15:48

Are there any city builders like city skyline where you also can do wars and have a military power
Great looking game
First thing I thought of was "Foundation" the novels by Isaac Asimov, I'm pretty sure.
"Dots and tittles to play with." Huh? Funny lingo. 🤔👍🏻🤣
Wishing this was on ps5 😪
My Pc likely won’t handle it
is there a attack sim? to see how strong ur city ios
🖤
3:50 I literally though my video went freeze xD
Creeeeeeeeeek
cities skyline devs could do something similar
There are only Lumberjacks, some just replace the CK with a Q.
Replace the q with an x lol
What is the best medieval city builder?
Cool!
are you fascinated by settlers? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Settlers

ok. I had the "Stockpiling" option clicked on the berries at the top of the screen. Gargh! :) Clicked it off.. and off she went.

@@brolohalflemming7042 .... That hurts my brains
It is a great game, but I am kind of sick of stylized games... I like it more like Ostriv, or Manor Lords.
I wish this game would get bigger discounts on steam... It's like 20+ Euros for it :/

Do they have enough resources to build the houses? That might be why
Sadly there is no mac support.
You said ANNO I'm too old to devote that much time...
More vids please
i hate the way paths look in this game. the soft blurred look is awful. It was alot better in settlers 4 a 2d game
Stop saying "very very"
Don’t like when game do this. Who am I purchasing the land from?

While it may seem so, the thumbnail is what you actually see when you boot up the game. It’s confusing but it’s not misleading
