This would be a fascinating series. This game is graphically reminds me of the old warcrafts, but is mechanically so unique that it just draws you in. Love it.
normally even for the games i like, i tune out after 15 minutes or so of watching someone else play it, this one just has the right balance of changing circumstance and planning.
Idk if a series is the way to go with a game like this, but I wouldnt mind it being part of the weekly rotation. If a particular game is taking a long time to record and recording this game for an hour and a half is a better alternative I would love to see it return. Definitely not as short to record as plague inc or rebel inc but seems to more reliable than waiting for good scenarios to be published.
This game is fantastic. Been in the early release for a bit over a year now, and the devs have been awesome. They listen, respond, update often, and even implement and keep track of which ideas came from the community. Can't recommend it enough!!
Generally speaking, you can start every game with a grid path + 3 shelters+ 3 woodcutters (1 of which will be understaffed due to 1 villager being in the heart) and get to 5 woodcutters or 4 WC+ 1 food maker very fast. No need to pick building blueprints until you unlock the first few order picks or even the entire first row. After that you can pick orders based on buildings you have available not vise-versa. At this point you will have 1k+ wood, trade post and you will be able to start getting 40 amber each trader visit + perks from the trader (or even more building blueprints) which makes the rest of the run easier. Haven't tested it on higher difficulties tho, but it is a great start for lower ones.
Normally, city-building is something I don't like watching due to the repetitive of things, but this game actually has an interesting challenge on it. I'd like to see you play more of this game! PRAISE PRAVUS!
Im the only one who thought instantly this was inspired in Brandon Sanderson’s “Stormlight Archive”? The eyes in the storm makes me think even more of it, anyways, the game looks awsome and I’ll definitely try it
you take a pretty big resolve penalty in the storm for each level of hostility, and you can decrease hostility pretty easily by firing your woodcutters (3 woodcutters is about 1 lvl of hostility) or sacrificing wood/coal in the hearth, just during the storm. Would have prevented those harpies from leaving. Great video, I really like this game and I'm excited for the series
Thank you Pravus for introducing me to a game that is absolutely in my wheelhouse. Definitly going to pick up this gem after my next paycheck. Would love to see more of this played on the channel
Some tips you might have figured out are. 1 If only one species is thinking of leaving then you can give them lighter treatment in the resolve panel for +5 for that one and -5 for the others, you can juggle to prevent deserters. 2 during storm you can take off woodcutters to lower threat level that -4 per can make or brake some people, plus avoiding the nastier storm effects. 3 different species tending the main hearth give good perks and should be changed, a beaver is 25% fuel efficacy, human is -20% impatience increase rate, lizards +1 resolve to all, harpy +5 carry capacity. 4 you can upgrade the land around hearths for bonuses lowest one is 8 people and 4 effects for 2 global resolve. If you want to try the higher difficulties then you need to juggle cutters and treatment, also opining small glades hurts more than helps in viceroy mode most times. the ""keep goods" order is the option to keep the resources instead of sending them to the citadel. Starving is a resolve - so it can be mitigated. sacrificing in the hearth is good to lower hostility levels and other effects (it was changed from giving resolve, you could burn everything and win through resolve that way). I completed the game like 6 months to a year ago, right before harpys came out so if you have a question just ask
Viceroys all like "hear that thunder and lightnin? Theres gonna be a whole bunch of turbulence. Strap your woodcutters... cause its about to be turbulence!"
There's a couple city-games I'm excited for coming out in the next year (e.g. Gord, Laysara), but they didn't make it for 2022 so AtS is easily GOTY for me. Every single game feels like a new puzzle, and there's a weird air of 'calm' while you play while also constantly being in a state of panic about having to make progress and not let your wee villagers die. The depth and skill cap are crazy, but the roguelike elements w/ a difficulty modifier means literally anyone that is interested can find a mode they will enjoy. What a gem! I"m only sad that the runs are a little too long, and won't get the kind of YT/streamer attention they deserve.
Little Tip to make things a bit easier pravus upgrade the hearth when you do that global resolve is a lot more manageable you do this by building decorations
When people say that they have never played anything like it I always want to say frostpunk. Frostpunk has the same thing as this game, as in real timepressure to improve your settlement and an end goal for the settlement after which you move on to a new scenario.
Sounds like they got the idea from Brandon Sanderson's series Stormlight Archive. World spanning storms cross the planet multiple times a week. They rip up the earth and ground so only rock remains. Humans have adapted. And others...
I would love to see a series on this as well. I love the replayability; that's one thing that is somewhat missing imho from some otherwise fun city-builders. Also this game is currently on sale for a slight discount. I know what I'm playing after work. :) thanks for showing it off!
23:30 - If we can find a source of stone If you were playing minecraft, you might laugh at that statement. Most players on survival will unlock stone age on the first day after they punch a tree down. All you have to do is dig straight down three times below dirt and there is stone. Stone is everywhere in that game. I guess in this you have to declare an area like a 'stone quarry'. I do declare, this is where the townsfolk pickax stone. Here.. not over there.
This was my favorite game during the demo expo thing Steam had- I could NOT stop playing it. Thanks for covering it! I'm excited to see what new things they will add before full release.
i like the risky gameplay of not building houses to all your settlers. Edit: oh you thought that the numbers in the house icon means they have a house, its the other way around.
This looks interesting but not sure I personally would call it a city builder. I mean, maybe, but it certainly isn't going to scratch any of the itches that I play city builders for. Feels more like a sort of strategy/colony sim
This would be a very good weekly or biweekly upload series, just a settlement each video to expand your empire, since it changes so much video should be interesting. Maybe every month do an extremely difficult settlement far away to challenge yourself as much as possible. Definitely look forward to more of this game
This game looks amazing! Perhaps my personal favorite genre is single player 4X games, which is a very rare genre. I'll have to check this out! Nice video, and your audio sounds crisp and clear!
I saw someone else comment this, but I would love a series of this where you did a settlement a video from new to completion. I'd like to see more of the maps and creatures, and it sounds like there will be enough variation to stay novel. Although you city-builders/-management playthroughs are my personal favorites, so I would watch it all even without the rougelit element.
You should play Victoria 3 I mean after watching others play it I thought if Pravus played this he would take the brits over with a single ship and commander.
Long time watcher/lurker here. Watching since the beginning of Plague Inc. Love your content, and wanted to comment that I would love to see this as a recurring series. Take care, and cheers mate!
Ya the one size fits all things were changed or removed. mines no longer are infinite and produce based of number covered, eg 3 covered means 3 harvested at a time. The workshop was a nice thing that was always taken due to having 2 stars for everything, used to only cost wood. i do not know if clay pits and greenhouses have been removed but they were slowed way down.
I would love a recurring series of this. Returning to it every once in a while to expand the empire
yup
Same
me three
Yes!
Agreed, Pravus makes this entertaining and information-packed.
I'm not wrong
This would be a fascinating series. This game is graphically reminds me of the old warcrafts, but is mechanically so unique that it just draws you in. Love it.
You've gotta make more of this. I love how dynamic it is, the 50min flew by
normally even for the games i like, i tune out after 15 minutes or so of watching someone else play it, this one just has the right balance of changing circumstance and planning.

I would love a full length series on this game.

wow, it really IS a very unique game.
thanks for helping to discover it!
It has been some time since I've watched a full video, I really enjoyed this!
To up your resolve you can increase how much you are burning in the fire; great way to survive a bad storm
Normally, city-building is something I don't like watching due to the repetitive of things, but this game actually has an interesting challenge on it.
I'd like to see you play more of this game!
PRAISE PRAVUS!
Love the honesty at the beginning.
For PMcW to say that, thats high praise.
Just got this 3 days ago...if your on the fence, just buy it. 10/10 very fresh frostpunkish but deeper.
Im the only one who thought instantly this was inspired in Brandon Sanderson’s “Stormlight Archive”? The eyes in the storm makes me think even more of it, anyways, the game looks awsome and I’ll definitely try it
Would really love a series on this.
Viceroy Pravas it’s lovey to see you graduate and join the ranks. May your hearth stay lit and the fish people be quiet.
"Stone Deposit.... THANK GOD" that made me laugh
Series!!! I'm like 30 hours into this game already and love seeing everyone's different approaches
I randomly encountered your channel because of this video recommendation, so yes, more please!
PS: I subbed ofc.
Pravus: plays new game
Pravus: ROAAAAAADS!

also building houses, those harpies were homeless, i understand why they left :)
art style and ui graphics made me nostalgic for old blizzard games for some reason
Thank you Pravus for introducing me to a game that is absolutely in my wheelhouse. Definitly going to pick up this gem after my next paycheck.
Would love to see more of this played on the channel
if i don't see more of this game from you i will be shocked.
Just got the game today and just realized how good the traders are

"It's going to be a long video, just warning you up front"
Me:......thats a bad thing? *sips coffee*
This premise looks really cool!
As someone who played civilization (1) and Sim city (classic) this is a scarey and deep hole
would love to see a series on this!
Gameplay ticks so many boxes, graphics are gorgeous. Easy buy.
Please record more episodes. The game is really fun to play AND to watch especially from you since you play alot of games where you have to think
Yeah, im down for a series on this.
Thank you for the video. I bought a city builder game as a result since... original sim city and caesar 2! Hahaha
Little Tip to make things a bit easier pravus

A full length series of this would be amazing
Wow, very exciting looking game
I would love a recurring series of this. Returning to it every once in a while to expand the empire of Parvus!
i like the risky gameplay of not building houses to all your settlers.
Edit: oh you thought that the numbers in the house icon means they have a house, its the other way around.
Would love to see a series of this on the channel!
This game is actually super fun. I've won twice now. It's good.
This looks excellent. I demand more.
This looks interesting but not sure I personally would call it a city builder. I mean, maybe, but it certainly isn't going to scratch any of the itches that I play city builders for. Feels more like a sort of strategy/colony sim
Pravus would do great as a narrator
This would be a very good weekly or biweekly upload series, just a settlement each video to expand your empire, since it changes so much video should be interesting. I really love this game and will look into getting it for myself too. Thank you, Pravus
Wow, this is such a cool take on the genre! Thanks for the awesome video. Immediately wishlisted!
If this game gets co-op multiplayer, I will agree with Potato

Would be very nice to see a series! Top notch explanation. Very enjoyable to watch. Good content 👌🏻
Build the beavers' lair, against the storm.
This game looks amazing! Perhaps my personal favorite genre is single player 4X games, which is a very rare genre. I'll have to check this out!

Boy, I was wrong LOL
Imma be honest, tried the game loved it bought and im loving this video!Great job on walking people through the game! first time viewer
You should play Victoria 3 I mean after watching others play it I thought if Pravus played this he would take the brits over with a single ship and commander.
I love wayching you play this game
Whoever made this game seems like a Sanderson fan
This was excellent
a recurring series of this could be good. 4-5 episodes each with a new settlement every so often might work well.
By its very nature, this game would be perfect for a long series. I would love to see more.
looks fun I'll have to check this one out
congratulation Lord Pravas! it only took you 2 minutes to convince me to buy this game!
More content!! More episodes! Me like a lot.
Thanks for showing this, be interested in a series 👍
Series for this would be epic!
HOLY SHIT! - is what I said when I finally reached the end of the video.
Long time watcher/lurker here. Watching since the beginning of Plague Inc. Love your content, and wanted to comment that I would love to see this as a recurring series. Take care, and cheers mate!

Thats not only a really cool concept for a Video game, I feel like its also quite the cool prompt for a Book/TV Series no?
More of this game plz
Not going to lie, this game seems built for you. Shorter form city builder that has a larger macro-progression?
Hell yeah.
Full length series on this game Fr Fr
Loving this game, would enjoy seeing more. Thanks!
I definitely would watch more of this game.
The main menu gives me vibes of Dune 2000
Please make more of this
This was great
God damn it! This is my dreamgame!
Give us more Pravus, the People have spoken
Need more of this game definitely
Also, enjoying the longer video
