the horror of the ylfa scene is so real bc it went from everyone laughing so hard at cinnamon toast rolls and lollipopcorn and "your teeth are honking big!" to dead fucking silence as everyone witnessed the agony of ylfa starving to death and eating the wolf like the animal she eventually becomes. to say my stomach dropped watching this is an UNDERSTATEMENT.
Edit: also the stepmother's origin story slaps SO HARD. like it made me nauseous watching it (and i may have cried a little thinking about it)

i always think “neverafter didn’t have as much horror as i wanted it to have :/“ and then i watch a video like this and i’m like “oh i just became desensitized to all the horror, and the surrounding goofs softened the horror elements in my memory”

The absolute mood whiplash this season had. It was Brennan trying to do horror shit, the Intrepid Heroes turning it into a bit, and Brennan punishing them for their bits with more horror. But I mean, you got seven comedians together and asked them to do horror, what else was gonna happen?
Also the scene of Mother Goose at the keyhole genuinely caused me to dissociate for a minute before I realized what was happening. Which I think really speaks to Brennan's narrative talent. I've been fine on rewatches, but the first time I saw it I was gone.

Same for me! Like, when it started happening I was like...I know this feeling and that was the only warning I gave myself as I felt the derealization take over me. Jesus it was a lot but really really, like, powerful and well done.

I remember someone clipping the entire Ylfa eating the Wolf scene, and the only content warnings they put were eating raw meat and flashing lights. Like... yeah, those are in there, but... those are not the triggering parts that immediately come to mind. Like, "Oh, yeah, it would have been totally fine if Ylfa put the wolf meat on a slow roast first."
