I was able to watch the coronation today from beginning to end. I saw snippets back in the late sixties, but not the whole long ceremonial process. I have admired Queen Elizabeth ever since I saw those snippets many years ago. As I watched the Queen and Prince Philip make vows to the countries that are under jurisdiction of the United Kingdom that are under the jurisdiction, my first thought was that the Queen was so small in stature that she surely felt the tremendous heavy weight of all of her responsibilities. And yet, here she is at the age of 96 years, a truly regal monarch. She's started to slow down a bit, and has delegated some things to others, but still a major part of ruling rests on her shoulders. Hello, my name is Philip and I had a great uncle who came from England. His name was William Philip Gullivan; we all just called him Phil. He was born in 1910. He joined the Royal Guard at the age of 20 and served until he was 73. So he was there at the coronation of King 👑 George VI and of course also at the coronation of Elizabeth II the Great. He always said before he died in 2020 at the proud age of 110 that the current King 👑 Charles III would only be a transitional king and would either pass the throne on to his son William by abdicating or he would die early and then the throne would go to William anyway. My great uncle likes the family. He also had a good relationship with the current king's grandmother, Queen Mother Elizabeth. He was honored in 2016 at Kensington Palace for his services to his country, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I was there and the event was really good. There was good food and beautiful music. I was very happy to be there, because when do you get to go into a palace like that? Most of the time, not at all. That was the best experience I had with my great uncle. May he rest in peace, just like the great Queen 👑 Elizabeth II.
I was 4 at this time, but remember my Great Grandmother sitting in prime position watching the Coronation on our newly acquired tv, a special visit by her so she could see it!
Queen Elizabeth’s coronation was the most exquisite coronation ever, on this earth, or forever will be. There will never be another like it ever. Queen Elizabeth is a once in a life time Monarch. There will never be another like her ever!! She has been an extraordinary and exceptional woman as a monarch who ever walked the earth, or ever will.
With the garment of salvation...and the Queen was given a Holy Bible... This is amazing.... Queen Elizabeth was introduced to God to have wisdom to rule... wow... this generation must learn something unique from this gesture... introduced God in the training of your children if only you love them..
I am not British, but Queen Elizabeth the second was the only monarch i grew up knowing, as a child in the 70s and as a teen in the 80s, i knew about the royal family etc. The Queen brings out the British in me🇬🇧
I have seen on utube and some tv documentaries a short clip of the Queen and her maids of honour, at the exact moment they are inside Buckingham Palace straight after this, in private for the first time. They all flopped into chairs, legs outstretched, laughing with such relief this was all done. It shows the Queen truly relaxing with friends. They must have been exhausted but on a real high, they all happily took glasses of champagne from the footmen. It was a wonderful insight into behind the scenes. It’s since vanished from utube, it must have been deemed too private.
The Coranation of Queen Elizabeth was very incredible ! Arch Bishop prayed from His Heart 💓 for Wisdom ,Power ,and Success ! Gently He bowed as she took the Oath and placed the Crown ! God Bless Her and Her Family Members! God created Royals to rule the Earth and take care of His Creation ! 🙏👍👌💖😉🌷🕊️Love 🇮🇳
Simply amazing to witness thus ocasion, as I was only 6 years of age when the Queen' s Coronation was happening, when growing up in Yorkshire; which was very special to me at such a tender age.
It's probably worth commenting for those who do not know that the 37 minutes of the service in the Abbey shown here is highly edited and only represent a very small fraction of the entire coronation service which lasted very nearly 3 hours (about 2 hours 48 minutes, I think) and that duration even excludes all but the last of the 15 items of orchestral music played in the church before the Queen arrived and two more after she left! The whole ceremony consisted of a full Anglican communion service with all the prayers, readings, sung items (such as the Gloria, Creed and Sanctus), sung psalm, responses and anthems that you would expect as part of a normal eucharist. The rites specific to the coronation (such as the acclamations, anointing and crowning) were interpolated at various points throughout. Only the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh partook of the bread and wine. This film is very effective as an introduction to the occasion in terms of enjoying the colourful spectacle but if you want to get a real feel for what it must have been like to be there, fully understand the liturgical structure of the service and identify the individuals (historical figures, clerics, nobles, heralds, other officers of state, politicians and royal persons) taking part, you need to watch the unedited recording of the original monochrome BBC television transmission in which Richard Dimbleby gave a flawless and highly informative live commentary throughout and in which there is much fine additional music performed (including many more fanfares). This is available on TH-cam at th-cam.com/video/52NTjasbmgw/w-d-xo.html and documents the Queen's arrival at the door of the Abbey church and everything that happened until she left the building.
I was born a few hours after the Coronation. My grandad, my mum's dad, hired a telly so everyone could watch, as they all sat down my mum started going into Labour, they all dashed up to the hospital and missed it all.
@@daneelolivaw602 Your welcome, I’m supposed to be good if I’m Queen and I become Queen last September when I was only 20. It literally happened as Queen Elizabeth II died so i was just as young as the late Queen and I think Woody.EXE made the right decision
Most coronation rituals have roots in religion stemming from a time when monarchs ruled either by being recognized by a sacred authority (the Church), divine right of kings/Mandate of Heaven, or claiming divine descent (like Japan). Oh and watch The Crown. I can’t claim it’s 100% accurate but it creates a story from these scenes of history.
A RARE GEM indeed!... It seems to me, this is a fairy tale, or a movie par excellence.. that come's to real life. BUT ALAS .THIS IS NOT A MOVIE , THIS IS HER MAJESTY, THE QUEEN ELIZABETH II. During her coronation..LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!
This coronation was much better than the coronation of Charles. Here everyone knew their duties, and the Queen stood straight and strong. Charles isn't like his mother at all. They weren't moving freely. And Camilla had only two women by her side. They were stiff.
I know Woody.EXE’s coronation will be like Queen Elizabeth’s because it was his request. My grandmother was there in person to see her coronation. Then all these years later, grandma and I watched her son be coronated with a shared sense of vague disgust.
Really? Why with disgust? I'm really curious, I don't know much since I live in Russia, but I watched the coronation and it seemed to me Charles doesn't deserve the ceremony as much as his mother did
@@massmediamanager9443 Well, I can only speak for myself, but I was thinking of him as King Tampon the whole time. Not exactly stately. I know everybody's only human, but Charles's private life has been so exposed, there's no mystique or grandeur about him whatsoever.
Ich hoffe, dass bei der nächsten Krönung so ein kostspieligen Zirkus nicht mehr stattfindet. In diesen Zeiten total überholt. In vielen ihrer Ländern hungern die Menschen. I’m sure it’s evolved over centuries, each monarch adding and adapting it. I know the Dukss of Norfolk do the practical arrangements and the formats. The role goes from father to son.
She was indeed long to reign over us, very poignant watching this having just watched her son's. Charles is there, next to the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret, almost the same age as Prince Louis today. The physical embodiment and representation of our country. And to any denigrators, we tried a republic for 11 years (1649-60) and the people invited the king back. The monarchs know they reign with the people's permission, and as such, remind us of our long history. Some of the aspects here and in today's service go back to Ecgbert of Wessex in 825, and even to Aethelbert of Kent crowned with words brought by Augustine from the Pope in 597. A massively long, stretched out history of the UK, and today even the Celtic church was acknowledged in the Welsh that was sung.
The ladies gowns and the capes that everyone was wearing, it all looed so beautiful! Charles should have gone all out and not scaled down with the traditional outfits.
The economic environment of the UK right now is not so well so that Charles doesn't want the ceremony to be too luxurious to prevent him from the backlash. I think he also wants to present himself as the king among the commoners rather than being surrounded by the peers and looked out of touch to the people. And thirdly, I think the scale-down is also about his concern on the environmental issue.
That’s what Woody.EXE wants for our coronation because he knows that my 2009 Woody misses Elizabeth II so much. We’re going all out in memory of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
To be able to see this in 2022, what a gift, and to think, she has out lived everyone who was there, our beloved Majesty

I want mine and Woody.EXE’s coronation to be just like the late Queen’s. I can’t wait until my 21st birthday now since our coronation is on my birthday
A month later, it was the best coronation day we’ve ever had. I was still a bit unsteady from when I was ill 6 months ago but Woody.EXE wanted to make sure it was comfortable as possible for his Queen. Soon as I felt that crown going on my head; I felt really unsteady but I continued walking like nothing happened. I loved how my 2009 Woody links my arm as he held the great sword in his other hand and everyone started gasping in shock seeing Woody in this pission. I didn’t think he’d have that incredible strength to walk me his Queen down the aisle whilst holding that big thing. Hell not forget this day for sometime
This was so beautiful and spiritual. You can feel God and and Christ presence while watching this.
Thank you..I have never seen this before..It's stunning.
Everyone looked amazing..and the Queen and her Ladies look as though they'd stepped out of a Fairy tale.
Absolutely Beautiful..
Wow..the bands..the pagentry and the History.
Breathtaking to see it all.
I only have one regret..I wasnt there..lol
Very beautiful realistic historical . I was not born that time but so Great
Fairy tales are a crude imitation :)
Rest peacefully my Queen.
So beautiful and serene.
My school was bused to a cinema and we were shown the Coronation of The Bkessed Queen Elizabeth II. It was the thrill of my life at that time. I felt I was there. My parents were on The Mall along with my father's cousins.
Thank you for giving us a chance to see this beautiful amazing coronation Queen Elizabeth..😍😍😍😍
What an amazing piece of history captured for all future generations to see! Thank you for sharing this. I cannot believe this footage doesn’t have millions of views, it’s truly incredible to watch. So glad we now have TH-cam, it’s practically a time machine providing all a window into times past. 👑🙏❤️

Can you imagine taking that kind of job as young as she was? She knew that she was going to eventually become Queen. But she didn't expect it to be that early. When her father died, she was on a business trip with her husband and she didn't get the news right away. Her husband told her the news 30 minutes after her father died. Basically, she was Queen and didn't know it. She went from Princess Elizabeth to Queen Elizabeth II in a blank of an eye ❤❤❤❤❤
I cannot believe what I was just watching my God it was absolutely beautiful I've tears in my eyes at this !moment as I have love the family for many many years ,and thank you whoever put this on for showing it ,it was beautiful so so beautiful thank you. God bless the queen and her family may they live in peace and happiness thank you again. I am saying good night in Canada I love to sleep and a happy heart. 💓
Hopefully mine and Woody.EXE’s coronation in 2 weeks is just as good as the late Queen’s. I gave up my life at 20 to become Queen because Woody.EXE wanted it. Hard to believe I’m being crowned as Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth III on my 21st birthday on Thursday 20th, July 2023; my 2009 Woody, my sister and Mummy can’t wait for this day as Woody sees his owner being crowned Queen and I bet he’ll cry
To be loved by one’s country is truly astonishing.
It is really nice to see someone so well respected hold onto her honor for the entire time she has taken on the duties.
@@biblemademedoit Now she rests on an immaculate life and lays her crown before the throne of the lord who will be her rewarder.
12:26 And 58 years later, Catherine Elizabeth Middleton would walk down the same aisle to the same music, amazing!!
71 years later, me and Woody.EXE had our coronation in Wales in mid July 2023 which marked my 21st birthday on the same day as I was officially crowned Queen. I vividly remember my entire family looking towards the huge doors of the Abbey seeing my 2009 Woody walking me down the long way and I requested to do it even if I was still learning to walk again after my illness 4 months prior to the coronation itself. It was such a magnificent birthday celebration for me and my sister, Princess of Wales; even Mummy, also Princess of Wales was very proud of me that day because she was actually having a breakdown just hours before the ceremony thinking i might not be coming but I was well enough to attend the event to see my beloved Woody.EXE finally have his crowning moment and he looked nervous as heck. The best day of our 2 year reign
This coronation makes the recent coronation look like a childs play.
There will never be another person like her…..such an inspiration
It's like a wedding except you're marrying an entire country!
Pretty much, the sovereign's ring (warn on the right hand 4th finger) is often called "The wedding ring of England"
Wow. Watching her carry the Scepter and Orb and wearing the crown has my throat tightening and my eyes watering. Remembering it on her coffin. ❤️
You could feel the presence of God and the lord Jesus Christ at her majesty the Queens coronation, our dear queen Elizabeth has gone on to be with god and our dear lord Jesus Christ in heaven. She will live forever in our hearts forever ❤.
So beautiful and graceful the queen was !❤
Hello, my name is Philip and I had a great uncle who came from England.
Fantastic to watch. Long live the Queen 🇬🇧

Stunning beautiful of the queen celebration's.
To see this film of The Queens Coronation has been amazing .
The Queen brings out the British in me🇬🇧
Ahhh… one of the best things to happen in this world. Thank you my queen for your life-long service.
Impressive ceremony. I watched for the first time.
It look like a fairy tale story.
Stop fibbing
The Coranation of Queen Elizabeth was very incredible ! Arch Bishop prayed from His Heart 💓 for Wisdom ,Power ,and Success ! Gently He bowed as she took the Oath and placed the Crown ! God Bless Her and Her Family Members! God created Royals to rule the Earth and take care of His Creation ! 🙏👍👌💖😉🌷🕊️Love 🇮🇳

Long live the Queen!!!
Simply amazing to witness thus ocasion, as I was only 6 years of age when the Queen' s Coronation was happening, when growing up in Yorkshire; which was very special to me at such a tender age.
Que lindo siempre la vi en blanco y negro

Thank you!!
Thank you. Precious information, especially about the church service.
When she was coming back to the palace Olivier does say about her leaving 6 hours earlier!
What an amazing woman an example to everyone with or without the crown
The queen’s coronation was six weeks before I was born. Amazing!
I was born a few hours after the Coronation. My grandad, my mum's dad, hired a telly so everyone could watch, as they all sat down my mum started going into Labour, they all dashed up to the hospital and missed it all.

Your welcome, I’m supposed to be good if I’m Queen and I become Queen last September when I was only 20. It literally happened as Queen Elizabeth II died so i was just as young as the late Queen and I think Woody.EXE made the right decision
Beautiful.🙏🙏😇😇
Graceful then and now. Long may she reign. God Bless You,Your Majesty
rest in peace, your majesty 🕊
What a journey, done with grace and love, long live the Queen!
Had no idea that it was such a sacred ceremony.
It's in line with the coronation of the Biblical King Solomon. Majestic, spiritual 👑
Elizabeth was the jewel in the crown 🌹
Thank You a Lot for sharing!!!!
That's very legend that's a great ceremony
Well, Charles III is already in his 70s, Elizabeth II was in her 20s when she was crowned, so that partially explains the difference.
Charles got bored of waiting for so long. He was over and done with the coronation 😂
I know Woody.EXE’s coronation will be like Queen Elizabeth’s because it was his request. It will be sad that I won’t be filmed for a lot of it since Woody.EXE wants to respect my privacy as I still mourn the late Queen but I’m allowing cameras to show me being crowned as Woody.EXE is crowned before me
So beautiful 🙏👍👋

When did everyone stand for US General George Marshall? That’s an amazing honor wow
The voice is Olivier's, surely. I bet it's written somewhere but it's only a guess for me.
I love that she leaves…and comes back crowned Queen. So cool.
I feel so weird whenever I watch old videos with matching old style of a voice over.
Laurence Olivier narrating is a little over the top. Still, it's good to watch it all, God bless.

I’m watching The Crown on Netflix, which has brought me here.. if it’s true they Queens husband had the idea to bring the television and record the ceremony, what a marvelous idea! History was recorded and we have the ability to see the coronation in 2023… amazing.. especially since she was Queen so long and now King Charles. Makes me wonder about Prince Williams coronation.
This ceremony feels like watching how it used to happen back in the 16th century.
Only it wasn't filmed
My grandmother was there in person to see her coronation. Then all these years later, grandma and I watched her son be coronated with a shared sense of vague disgust.
Really? Why with disgust? I'm really curious, I don't know much since I live in Russia, but I watched the coronation and it seemed to me Charles doesn't deserve the ceremony as much as his mother did
I agree-it wasn't a coronation fit for a Great Power. He's not fit for purpose. Too woke and blind. His family is in disarray.
@@massmediamanager9443 Well, I can only speak for myself, but I was thinking of him as King Tampon the whole time. Not exactly stately.
I know everybody's only human, but Charles's private life has been so exposed, there's no mystique or grandeur about him whatsoever.

Yes, it was the Mistress of the Robes, the Dowager Duchess of Devonshire
Ich hoffe, dass bei der nächsten Krönung so ein kostspieligen Zirkus nicht mehr stattfindet. In diesen Zeiten total überholt.

I’m sure it’s evolved over centuries, each monarch adding and adapting it.

There’s prolly someone in that video that lived during the American civil war
The Archbishop of Canterbury running this ceremony was born in 1887 lol
