When did everyone stand for US General George Marshall? That’s an amazing honor wow
Miss him every minute of the day and night xxx
Can you imagine taking that incredible job as young as she was? She was only 25 years old at the time. She just started living. She knew she was going to eventually become Queen but she didn't expect it that soon. Basically, she was Queen and didn't know it. She was on a business trip when she heard the news. When her father died, she got the news 30 minutes later. She went from Princess Elizabeth to Queen Elizabeth II and didn't know it right away ❤❤😢😢 Long Live The Queen 👑 ❤
I was so privaleged to have Queen Elizabeth as my monarch for 65 years of my life.
Hmmm the 1985 version knocks the stripes off this imho
Enjoyable - how could it not be? - but slightly over-the-top... not quite as subtle as the 1985 series which we all adore. Mapp's teeth do seem to over-fang the pudding..
Passable if you had no idea about the 80’s adaptation
This video MUST be fake, we ALL know there's ALWAYS been lots of niggas in Britain, right? Stammerer says so, and who are we to dissent?
Türkçe alt yazı olmasını çok isterdim..
This is lovely.my great aunt Joan lived in Rye next door to the mermaid hotel. I am thinking of visiting Iden again when I can. I grew up in Lambeth and I am still here. Need a holiday somewhere relaxing! Thank you very much for posting this lovely event.
It's quite telling that Miranda Richardson seems to base her portrayal of Mapp on Prunella Scales performance in the 1985 series... no one could ever be as good a Mapp and Lucia than Scales and McEwan, the casting was simply a sublime confluence of perfection.
TOTAL RUBBISH! I can't think why they bothered. It is not a patch on the 1980s series. The acting is feeble and ridiculous. The feeble actors of today are not a patch on the old ones and hardly any of them can do 1930s accents. This looks like an American amateur production.
Poor Little Prince George.
Lovely footage of days gone by. 👍
You could feel the presence of God and the lord Jesus Christ at her majesty the Queens coronation, our dear queen Elizabeth has gone on to be with god and our dear lord Jesus Christ in heaven. She will live forever in our hearts forever ❤.
красиво, но.... рептилии))
Sa travers, en courré, la fort esprit - rising.
If only then preacher's had the privileges that they had taught men; to continue, to grasp, and to give way.
🎉Blessings Mother 🎉
If ever a series did not need to be redone, it was this one. When Geraldine McEwan, Prunella Scales and Nigel Hawthorne do something, you just bow down in awe, and definitely don't try to one up it.
Remake a fiasco! Why?.... No magic. (Compared to the original)
イギリスの素晴らしい 映像🎉歴史を感じ 制服や儀式がもう素晴らしい❤美し過ぎる
Pitifully unpleasant compared to its utterly delightful predessor--IN EVERY CONCEIVABLE WAY, God help us!
Unfortunately having seen the main actress in tipping the velvet and switching off! My views are jaded. So wont watch inspite of stellar cast.
Glorious! Different from the 1985 version but equally as good. Thank you so much for posting - can't wait for Episode 3 ....
I have arrived here after enjoying a Jeeves and Wooster episode on another channel . Brilliant . And i also like the Mapp and Lucia stories . Occasionally i am listening to Cold comfort farm as a radio play . I have come to this conclusion , that England in the 1920s and 30s , went through a golden period of well written comedy and total daftness .
Between the wars English young people were less hemmed in by stuffy traditions and had a lot of new modern conveniences. They could zoom around in cars and leave the confines of their villages without horses. I think the horrors of WW I left a zany crack in the old English humor. P.G. Wodehouse is definitely the best known writer from the era who made upper class eccentricities the most humorous features of interest in his characters. Spode, for example. That guy!
42:20 Queen mother curtsy
The MAGNIFICENT Miranda Richardson !
I was just going to post that! Been a fan since Blackadder. When Miranda does a comedic character she spares no personal indignity to herself. Such a trouper! Thing is, she's always so believable in every role. From the Crying Game on. Surprised that she isn't a Dame yet. She's one of the UK's theatrical treasures. Tell old Charlie to get crackin'.
This coronation makes the recent coronation look like a childs play.
Hello, my name is Philip and I had a great uncle who came from England. His name was William Philip Gullivan; we all just called him Phil. He was born in 1910. He joined the Royal Guard at the age of 20 and served until he was 73. So he was there at the coronation of King 👑 George VI and of course also at the coronation of Elizabeth II the Great. He always said before he died in 2020 at the proud age of 110 that the current King 👑 Charles III would only be a transitional king and would either pass the throne on to his son William by abdicating or he would die early and then the throne would go to William anyway. My great uncle likes the family. He also had a good relationship with the current king's grandmother, Queen Mother Elizabeth. He was honored in 2016 at Kensington Palace for his services to his country, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I was there and the event was really good. There was good food and beautiful music. I was very happy to be there, because when do you get to go into a palace like that? Most of the time, not at all. That was the best experience I had with my great uncle. May he rest in peace, just like the great Queen 👑 Elizabeth II.
For all the Geraldine McEwan fans, don't forget her series Mulberry. It was brilliant though, unfortunately, short-lived as was Mapp & Lucia. I rarely see anyone mention it. Definitely worth watching if you can find it.
This is a pale production to the 1985 one. Geraldine McEwan, Prunella Scales, and Nigel Hawthorn are peerless.
The combination of Hawthorn, McEwan and Scales was like the perfect storm.. a confluence which only occurs once in a lifetime. It's funny that Miranda Richardson's performance is head and shoulders above everyone else's and only because of her somewhat bizarre interpretation of Scales' Mapp.
Thank you prince Phillip for making this happen.
I loved a Mapp and Lucia
Nice to hear the old Sussex accent!
Poor people who live in the dark celebrate their devil queen. She was vampire, and now she lives in hell with her friend devil.
Maybe you'll join her. Who knows.
@@setonix9151 Devil has no power on me because I am in Christ rather, I wish it for you
@@frehiwottulu9225 Elizabeth Regina, who is in Christ, anointed as Solomon was by Zadok, has been deemed and judged by you for Eternal Damnation. Who are you to pass such judgement especially by yourself who claims to be 'in Christ'. Be ashamed of yourself.
You are not human being
This is brilliant as is the first version of these magnificent stories by E.F. Benson. "We love books by E.F. Benson". I think that Steve Pemberton is incredibly talented. Are we not fortunate that these wonderful stories have been retold in such a glorious manner by both casts? I think that they have been beautifully illustrated. "Maybe one day" I will visit Rye to see for myself the scenes evoked by the first version, but for now I am grateful that I can see them in my minds eye as I read the books and also in this version here.
Stupid music idiot
May I have Romney Marsh beer, please?
Oh gosh! It was supposed to be a tableau vivant, aka silent!!
The writer of this...i don't even know what to call it... is an idiot.
Yes but Lucia is a phoney. That’s the point. She knows words like tableau vivant but doesn’t know exactly what they mean.
I really hoped the 1985 cast took on the entire 6 novels… just imagine that!!
I can’t tell when this documentary was taken but it seemed quite a few years since Mapp and Lucia. What a great classic! And so is this place it seems!
Thank you!

This version is just awful. Try the original.
Who knows what the name of the songs that were played during the entrance of the marching band and also the exit of the marching band
The first one of the procession is I Was Glad, the lsst one don't know
11:39 the trumpet fanfare sounded so appropriate for a beautiful queen.
I am not British, but Queen Elizabeth the second was the only monarch i grew up knowing, as a child in the 70s and as a teen in the 80s, i knew about the royal family etc. The Queen brings out the British in me🇬🇧
Its around 1993-94.
