I walked into my local Subaru to get a new fuel cap, stepping into the show room. I was surprised with a gorgeous blue S209 sitting in front of me. This car is beautiful. And sooooooooo out of my price range. I stood there for an hour combing over this car. Wishing I could buy it.

This is my dream car, I'll never afford one, but I love the VA chassis and this is the best of them. The passion and love for the car by these enthusiasts makes it that much more special.
Recently bought my first Subaru Forester XT and love it. Wish I would have discovered Subaru 20 years earlier. Would like to see a Levorg STI and turbos in more models in the USA. The AWD is excellent value for the price. US consumers want it all, economy, safety, power and AWD...
Hello. I'm a Subaru STI fan. I am from Kazakhstan, Almaty, I love your Subaru. I tell everyone Subaru is the best car in the world. I dream that I had a copy of STI dreams come true
Actually, you should be proud of your Type R. As an STI (regular) and Type R owner, I say the Type R is the much better car on dry road at least. It was actually cheaper for me to get a Type R as a second car rather than try to trade my STI in for an S209, the S209 was just WAY to expensive with the markups. One dealer wanted 85K and it just wasn't gonna happen. I would even say that on a dry track with equal drivers the Type R will beat or at least give an S209 a really hard time, Motortrend had better numbers from the Type R. In redline reviews a Type R (may have been tuned) put bus lengths on an S209 on the highway. Stock for stock the Type R should actually pull away, it is around 400 pounds less than the S209 and with fwd will have less drive train loss. I have been driving my STI and Type R back to back and the Type R is just a lighter better balanced car, I experience less understeer than I do in the STI. Seats are better in the Type R and I can corner harder becuase i'm not sliding into the door (like I do on my STI). The ride is also less bumpy in the Type R yet it still corners flat. The CTR also is an absolute rocket on the highway. Not taking anything away from the S209, I really really wanted one, but the CTR is something I wanted as well. With some minor modifications my STI can be just as potent as an S209.
Yeahs that's seems nice and all but have you driven a Nissan GT-R 34 or a Mitsubishi Evo 6 Tommi Makinen Edition or a Subaru 22B? That's pinnacle performance the S209 is great but it lacks in comparison to those mentions

As a proud original owner of a 2007 Evo IX GSR SE, I pity the fools. Seriously- happy to see Subaru continuing the development of their excellent platform. Mitsubishi should have had more faith in their product.

GRB太郎 yeah, the current generation USDM sti's 2. 5 liter engine has a redline of only 6500rpm. That's a pity. I'm hoping the next gen will bring the high rev engine to north America.
They got the whole factory with state of the art machinery to figure out how to make more than 5 horsepower on the EJ....and can't even do it. While my local backyard tuner be slapping some bigger Yin Yang Spinny Thang, switch to some corona juice 🌽 and making 100-200 whp more than stock 🤣
HELLO READER , CAN U MAKE CHRIS ATKO OR DAVID HIGGINS OR OLIVER SOLBERG OR PETER SOLBERG DRIVE THE S209 TO IT FULLEST IN A RACE TRACK AND PUBLISH THE VIDEO
Strange business model, people are graving for theses special editions in HK and Australia yet they only release the most basic version. Also if they really want to bump up the sales before the next gen comes out they need to reissue a 22b with modernisation - not just random black decal and small body kit upgrade appeared in the so called Kubo edition or some shit . No idea what the company wants to achieve. Is not rocket science but they just get it wrong so badly
If you look at the technology that went into the S209, it's not revolutionary. In fact, this S209 was a long time coming considering previous S209 models in Japan, and it's a shame that the value still isn't there considering the price point of over 60k not including dealer markup. You could get a number of cars that would wipe the floor with the S209. Next, this car was tested twice. Motortrend's test was a near total failure. Car and Driver's test was above average. For this money, I'd rather have a lightly used garage kept 2012 - 2017 Carrera or Cayman S, all of which are leagues beyond the S209.
They are super reliable just most owners are 25 and do mods without doing the proper maintenance. I had a fully modded and tuned STI with 100k km on it and never had a problem
Eric Dietterle I 100%agree with you, ppl go full catless and run blow off valves instead of by pass valves and they wonder why their subies r getting knock.
Eric Dietterle I have a 2010, I am 18. No, my parents did not buy me it. I bought it myself. Thing was beat to hell by previous owner because months after I got it, Turbo blew, and Motor Spun bearing. and oil leaks everywhere. I fully rebuilt the motor myself and now it’s good as new, if not even better.
Cai Paul i actually ran both of those, knock just comes down to keeping the old ass engines topped with oil, and if you’re overboosting the stock turbo get a bigger one
They are having a problem how to squeeze more power from the engine lol. Uh what about down sizing the car ? Less weight = faster .. Do subaru they realize that the new sti car itself is HUGE... the car is bigger than a toyota camry ,for god sake. Car is just getting bigger and bigger every year. Just bring back the 2004s design and add power. I think it will attract more sales tbh.

In the aftermaket scene and tuning scene, Subaru is top 10 no cap. That’s amazing out of all the car brands.
Subaru Engineers: Reliable performance
Piston Rings: Am I a joke to you?
Proper Tune: Am I a joke to you?
I love my Frester EJ :D!
Put me down for two.
S202 sti specC type ra was the best S model made👌
why is the EJ20 Japanese exclusive? I prefer it over the EJ25.
GRB太郎 yeah, the current generation USDM sti's 2. 5 liter engine has a redline of only 6500rpm. That's a pity. I'm hoping the next gen will bring the high rev engine to north America.
Sti is a car i can never beat 🤣😁😁
i thought only 209 were being made?
Correct. Only 209 exist.
Reliable 👀
They are relatively reliable if taken care of and not beaten to death by younger drivers.
That's a fancy Corolla
When is the dubbed releas date?
HELLO READER , CAN U MAKE CHRIS ATKO OR DAVID HIGGINS OR OLIVER SOLBERG OR PETER SOLBERG DRIVE THE S209 TO IT FULLEST IN A RACE TRACK AND PUBLISH THE VIDEO
Luv the car but price is steep and should have had front mount inter cooler and 400hp
когда уже мощность мотора повысите??
I live so so much STI SUBARU 🇯🇵5 STAR JAPAN ESLAM HAMADA
You better bring out an EZ30 TWIN TURBO.. Now that you killed the EJ
I hope the 2021 STI rocks a lot more HP and improvements.
If they put the flat 6 with dual twin scroll turbos.
Count me as sold.

s209 or type r 2020?
Honda’s THE NEW WRC RALLY CAR
Miles Morales
They are FWD 😂 not a chance
s209 on a 2wd dyno?
When will Australia get some love?
Down under! Lol
You guys already got the Levorg haha meanwhile Canada gets shit. S209 exclusive to US only.
@marco demena you guys have cosworth!!! In japan we want cosworth sti more than S series lol
LOVE MY BRZ 2020 tS
jdmasfuck
What color? White one is sick
@@HOTPLATEGAMING ceramic white only
Yea.. that love costs US 65k.
Cvt or manual or is it dsg?
STi is only manual
maybe that's why the usdm ej series aren't as solid as the jdm ej series, because of all of these damn restrictions
avl dyno not awd?
the sti spirit
If you look at the technology that went into the S209, it's not revolutionary. In fact, this S209 was a long time coming considering previous S209 models in Japan, and it's a shame that the value still isn't there considering the price point of over 60k not including dealer markup. You could get a number of cars that would wipe the floor with the S209. Next, this car was tested twice. Motortrend's test was a near total failure. Car and Driver's test was above average. For this money, I'd rather have a lightly used garage kept 2012 - 2017 Carrera or Cayman S, all of which are leagues beyond the S209.
Reliable?
I do believe subies can be somewhat reliable when they r kept completely stock. However, that is rare in North America.
My 2004 Subaru sti oil pick up tube snapped. Idk about reliable haha
We don't give a shit about mpg. Give us a reliable 400whp sti and we will be happy for a bit then we will take it from there.
👍👍👍
the narrator sounds like a robot....next!
