Thank you boss. I actually found stoicism before I found you. I am uncredbly thankful for strength and wisdom that both have shared. I am so much better for it. There are a lot of positive minded stoicism channels out there on TH-cam. You just keep reinforcing that I am on the right path and you are certainly one of the people to listen too. You gave me strength and knowledge to stand and fight. That’s what I have to do. She swings at a wall of silence and looses her demeanor. Ty

My boss of five years was a bully and a narcissist and 6 months ago I finally retired early after a 30 year career. My mental health has improved so much and I am so much stronger! I was stoic and silent and I’m so proud of myself❤because I could’ve brought down an agency. But that’s not me.❤I will let karma work it all out.

I had a boss just like that , I spent 10 years trying to reason and pacify them , to no avail ! They would constantly just mock my efforts and belittle me infront of the other staff ! There were moments where I felt we had connected , like the times I dug them out of a hole and they seemed initially grateful , but it never lasted long . When we had my reviews it was always a catalogue of things I was supposed to be doing wrong, even if I was no longer actually doing them , no praise , nothing ! If anyone else ever expressed a good opinion towards me they would always turn it into a joke ! In the end I gave up trying and became silent . They took this as defiance and became even more abusive . The day I left I never looked back !! 💪🙏❤️❤️

Omg! I worked in the same toxic environment for 11 years! I retired as soon as I could. I am absolutely sure somebody else in the office is the target now. It's really good to know others go through this, as you begin to doubt yourself. I am focusing on my plants and exercising and totally enjoying retirement. They can stick it where the sun doesn't shine!

I had a horrible year in 2020 dealing with a narcissist boss, other narcissist staff and flying monkeys. I took 2021 off on medical leave when the boss came after me on the last day of work before Xmas 2020.
I spent 2021 so full of anger and rage at my lack of power and inability to get justice. Eventually I resigned and recovered. Now I’ve gone no contact with my sister and my father and brother have shunned me too. Fortunately, I worked through my righteous anger and rage from my work situation. The narcissistic fog has lifted and I don’t feel anything except relief and peace of mind now I have no contact with my family.Things do happen for a reason. The universe does give us what we need when we need it. If I imagine myself in the presence of my family I still experience a rush of cortisol and this reminds me that I have done the right thing.

To become silent, centered and stoic...The "transformation" MUST begin in the MIND. The need for VALIDATION and LACK OF EMOTIONAL DETACHMENT keeps a person in eternal codependency even when no longer involved with the narc. Emotional Maturity does not happen by osmosis. It takes a TON of work. Blessings to all! ❤

We can only alter our own perspective on the situation because the 'problem' is within ourselves. Fixing somebody else is wasted energy because we have zero control over others.

Hi Andrew, im back after being busy with my new job, and I'll be honest, im struggling to hold my mental health together. I struggle with high pressure situations and being surrounded by people all day. I battle with the urge to bolt out the door and hide away from the world. Im so drained from the trauma and struggle to focus on my work. Im loving my own company and alone time more each day. Im worried that I may never come out of my shell again, but part of me thinks that may not be such a bad thing anyway. Im dreaming of a house in the hills by a creek, where I can live out my days in nature. I have to believe that it's possible.

Absolute facts. Just observing and staying stoic helps enormously. Instead of my naïve oldself thinking, gosh what a baffling conversation, how intriguing, I stop, I process it "this feels yuck". The trauma bond is so damn real. Never saw it for what it was before. Recently, new guy, handsome, employed, yet the 'yuck' was there, the feeling that it is all about him. He cannot hold a conversation. He spews his muddy discourse and never is THERE, never engages in an actual conversation with ME.
He didn't spend any time learning anything about me. Yet he was maneuvering for me to travel across country with him. In my mind I saw lucky me 🙄🙄🙄🙄I could be an NPC. 🤣🤣
I feel rage some days when I realize how much of my life I wasted listening to others complain. Journaling helps, and decluttering helps, shaking the cobwebs from my head and walking in the sunshine all help.

Before I knew my new husband was a narcissist he would leave in fits of rage if I said ANYTHING counter to his opinion, or his plan. He would ghost for days at a time, and when he came back, he'd act like "what's the problem? why can't the past be in the past? What's wrong with you, you can't forgive..." and I would sit there and say listen "we're going to end up right back where we're at now unless we put our heads together and make some small behavioral change, some relational change so that we can grow together and have a healthy relationship and not go through these periods of ghosting and silent treatment which are incredibly uprooting and painful." Oh my gosh I was so stupid!!!! that was the whole purpose - to break me down, to gain greater control and he did. When I would beg him to work with me, so that we could make our relationship better, he would just look at me and not say a word I just couldn't even wrap my mind around it. it was horrible and I'm over here thinking why can't we work together because that wasn't his goal ever!
