I like how Winston knew Marquis was a coward but had an ego. So he stroked his ego by basically telling him he could be the man who finally killed John Wick thus forcing the Marquis to accept the challenge.
Yeah cause without that Marquis would of been too much of a coward to face John wick in a duel- hell, even then he tried getting out of it later with Kane starting the duel as his second.
But he also gave him the opportunity to settle the matter peacefully but the video cut some dialog, basically he gave him the chance to take John wick back onto the fold( under the table) and appear as a figure of peace and reason but The marquee wanted to make a name for himself and rejected the option.
When you actually HATE a villain in a movie, you know they’re fking killing the role. Like commodus in “gladiator.” The Skarsgårds are an acting dynasty and are all really great at what they do.
it’s even more impressive when it’s believable and not outrageous logic. Many movies make cheaply written antagonist that are very unlikeable to justify their death, but when a scumbag is a well written one, well it makes the immersion all the better
"yOU sPeAK oF thE olD wAYs aS iF YoU knoW thEm".... Motherf...., Winston has served under the table for longer than you have been alive....🤦🤦🤦🤦. Kids these days. 🤦
I found it even funnier when I realized the actor is around my age. So while I don't know what the character's canonical age is (plus the fact that all four films take place in the same year, so probably 2014), I think it's funny that a dude I could have gone to school with is trying to boss around all these men twice his age.
Also, Winston takeover his hotel against its former owner with the help of Charon and a few Vietnam War veterans when Marquis Vincent Bisset de Gramont isn't even born yet, so it's so disrespectful for Vincent to diss him like that.
@@duarted1as598 yes, and? One isnt allowed to poke fun at a movie character ? Isnt engagement with the art what the artist wants? Or are you one of those people that cringe at the thought of people beeing anything except straightforward boring?

Winston have something the arrogant young ones never can have no matter how educated they are. It's called wisdom through experience, and it's non-negotiable or forgiving.
I love how he says he doesn't help wick or whatnot, and he still does things to help him, like he 100% just lured him into that with putting the death of Wick on his shoulders and the threat of the council
Well, in the last episode of Game of Thrones, the actual Throne was burned down. It is symbolism of the old wars of the noble families fighting and scheming for the Throne is over.
All he had to do was open his mouth and chase and I’d of legit seen pennywise regardless of the makeup 😂 that fkn eye is literally iconic to the pennywise image! Goated actors right here.
Yep. Many most certainly do. It's a masonic & demonically inspired table. And ironically they actually & deludidly think they really are in power instead of being the demonic pawns that they are, bringing others to destruction.
WINSTON AND JOHN SHOULD HAVE INCLUDED THE REBUILDING, RECONSEGRATION, AND LIFTING THE INCOGNIGATO OF KOJI'S HOTEL TOO SINCE HE SACRIFIED IT ALL TO PROTECT HIS FRIEND JOHN WICK..
Winston was actually saying “ Once he kills you I get my Hotel back ….”
it's like when qui-gon told watto "once he wins you're freeing the boy and we're getting the parts we need to bounce"

Feels like he has done something similar again with someone who actually won and survived to take a position at the table.

Winston is so freaking cool, sophisticated, and dangerous in his own right. Class times 10!!!
We need to know who writes lines for Winston. That person rocks.
I like how winston always talks to the main villains in every movie as if they are friends. 😅
lol you're right, i never really thought about it

It's all about business, they all know each other
Yea but he showed respect to the other ones… not this dude tho
That guy was too young and cocky to see the nasty trap Winston was preparing for him
He couldn't see the poison in his dinner.
Nah he knew what Winston was doing but he went along with it anyway because of his cocky attitude
Arrogance is a hell of a drug
He would win if it was the swords duel instead of pistols
That is when arrogance comes before prudence, or pride goes first before the fall.
He literally gave that young man to John wick to kill
Winston gave the Grand Marquis to Wick to gain freedom!!!!
That is when Winston knew he won the war even before it starts.

More like a Father and Son relationship
When Ian Mcshane speaks in any movies I have goosebumps 🥶
Winston is a beast He knowns how to use the rules at his own advantage
The look of Marquis with his eyes looked like he was about to turn into Pennywise.
oh crap even the High table is fearful of John Wick!! DAMN!
John Wick, the Table Slayer.
He litterally decimated their elite fighters in john wick 3 ...
Even the elites are afraid of the boogeyman.
@@MindNumbingInc-- any rational mind should be.
Bro the adjudicator woman in 3 was like “we don’t need John wick paying us a visit” the high table knew wtf John was capable of

That was a masterful play by Winston to manipulate Marquis’ ego to accept the duel challenge. Marquis played right into Winston’s hands.

A young man telling an old man they dont understand the old rules is the highest level of hatred for this marquis.

That's Winston for you. He even took the continental from it's former tyrant manager in the past and he's also a good negotiator/salesman. 🥳
Winston has been in the game before he was born I love the way Winston got at him in accepting the challenge hundo to Winston
Winston knew how to maneuver in this organization to help John and himself!!
Winston played him like a fiddle, using his oversized ego against him

Winston already said John would run out of bullets before the high table would run out of people to send or members to replace their seats.
