My sister used to live at Sunshine but is now in Melton. You can also go to Brimbank hospital. My sister rates it highly. She's not asthmatic but has an autoimmune disorder.

Ohh I’m not on that side of town, I’m near the airport in the northern suburbs. I was taken to that hospital because it was the only one accepting ambulances at the time :( they are so overrun but honestly the team there were amazing. They did the best they could considering the situation with no beds available

@@Lausandmumlife I'd rather be sick here than anywhere else. Hubby, son and daughter all got sick in America. That was an experience. Thank goodness for over priced travel insurance.

I was diagnosed with asthma in December 1972, on my first hospital admission. I've learnt to control it over the years but getting covid and pneumonia early this year flared it up.
Tip - if you get covid, you can ask for antivirals, especially since you have had a hospital admission. My Dr didn't hesitate the last time I had covid and they worked so well, and best of all was my asthma was controlled too.

Wow I didn’t know that, thank you hun. I’ve had covid twice and had no asthma so it will be interesting if I catch it again after this diagnosis. I’ll keep that in mind if I do xxx glad to hear you’ve been able to control it, I am confident that I will too.

Wow I've had asthma since I was about 4 and I've never had that many puffs of ventolin in one go before! Although maybe I did in hospital when young I don't remember. I had to use a nebuliser a lot. These days I take a preventer twice a day and still have to take my ventolin quite a bit. Dust, pollen, exercise and laughing too much all set my asthma off. Just curious, are you a smoker as I've heard that can cause it? How scary for you that this came on so suddenly and out of the blue!

The amount of ventolin, antrovent, dex and steroids that I had was insane! Hopefully it never happens again that bad but now i know I have asthma I won’t leave it. I smoked in my teens and 20s, I suppose that doesn’t help 😜 I have since been told by the respiratory team that it’s not uncommon for women in their 40s to develop asthma during menopause! Whattt 🙀 hormones apparently, typical 🤣🤪 I’m sorry to hear your asthma is hard to deal with, it definitely makes life a lot harder with allergies :(

Geez what more do women have to deal with!! Do you have to take a preventer all the time now? Hopefully you are back to normal soon!

@Sonja... I know right!!? lol I’m coming back as a man 🤣 I’m on 3 puffers now one of them is symbicort I think that’s a preventer but I use it as a PRN as well. I hope I’m back to normal soon too love, I’m exhausted all the time xx
