I got my first Emerson, the Tiger. The more that I heard negative crap about Emersons, the more it made me want one.

That grey coating is awesome. I had it on my A100 . The only Emerson I owned,and I absolutely loved it. I think it was a pretty old version. It actually had a back spacer . I got lucky and it was new in box.
Yeah they don't do it anymore. It was definitely old.

Both badass knives dude. Very different from each other.
2 of my favorite knife designs of all time are the CQC-6 and CQC-7 with waves on each. I have knives from CRK, Hinderer, Strider, Medford, Curtiss, McNees, and others... And yet I still absolutely LOVE Emerson knives, and it doesn't matter how much crap people talk about them, their finishing, or their chisel grinds. I'll continue using Emerson knives. Their 154CM is also one of my favorite steels to actually use. Holds an edge well enough, nothing crazy, but sharpens back up amazingly well.

I’ve been thinking about grabbing the A100 and a couple other models, but I wish they would offer all their models with the choice of micarta or g10. I’ve hesitated a little on A100 because I thought it might be to similar to the ZT0640.

A100s in micarta are on the site now. They occasionally offer different scales and they sometimes have the option to get swaps at order

My one and only Emerson CQC7 very original the steel is ats-34 with titanium liners on the pocket clip it says Benchmade I bought this many many years ago I saw it listed in a knife magazine before internet before smartphones over $150 flat ground on one side and a bevel edge cutting circles by 4 inches I think it's one of the biggest knife I have and I keep it in my collection
That's a classic model for sure. Benchmade made some of the first products Emerson designs, I believe

My newer super 15 is very smooth compared to my 2013 super commander. You should check out the cqc 11. Its my favorite. Double detent but its great. I have an 04, 06 and new old stock.

Very nice assortment of Emerson's. I like the vindicator, the blade shape reminds me of Emerson's iron dragon knife. I totally agree with your rant on Emerson's. The current production knives are the way to go. No centering issues related to the backspacer, and no double detents. I know you're into Medford's, what is your thought on praetorian? Also, Do you have a socom from microtech?
Thanks for the comment. If you're not a serious collector, I absolutely recommend just buying new from emerson. I've had several praetorians and I enjoy them. None right now though. I've had the socom- definitely a good knife.

Was looking to get an Emerson knife for work and edc. Do you have any recommendations on which would be best suited for those uses? Would love one with the wave feature. Appreciate your help in advance!
The cqc 7 is the safe choice, and it's made in either tanto or spear point. The a-100 is a great all arounder but no wave. One of my favorites is the cqc-8, and the sleeper in their line up is the market skinner imo.

I think they are a bit overpriced honestly, for over $300 you can get into semi custom knives.
I'd like to know the $300 semi customs you're getting. Although, you're not wrong - they are a bit high but you wither see the value or you don't. You're not wrong wither way.
