Holy smokes! First time seeing Ernie Emerson let alone hear him talk! Amazing! I too own a CQC-7 in its tanto, serrated, blackened blade, no wave feature though. Got it around 4 years ago. Huge respect from a fan from Eastern Europe!

I bought a CQC-7 in the 90s made by Benchmade. That knife has been through hell and three trips to Iraq, and some less hellish places too.

Your knives are really great. I have one of your knives from your days with Benchmade when ATS-34 steel was being used. 4 inch blade design, titanium liners, g-10 handles. Thanks for your great work and designs.

The only knife I carry everyday is the mini Sheepdog spear point love that knife it has done a lot of cutting from boxes to tree branches stripping wire and it hold a edge a long time and sharpens up very good thanks Ernie

Love mine. But only open when needed. The titanium liner lock will wear .and there is not a replacement lock insert.

Agreed the SERE was the first but Emerson took it to another level. Still wish I had my Japanese built SERE, it was the sharpest knife I’ve ever had from the factory, ev weed n sharper than my Emerson Commander

I hate how people judge Emerson knives for the products there made of and say there not worth the money but they don’t understand they can survive the water I guarantee you most knives rust and there not as sharp if you buy an Emerson knife it’ll last a lifetime.

Super marketing fluff! Firstly, a tanto (not tonto, Kimosabe), is shaped that way for penetrating power. If you wanted to increase the cutting edge you could just sharpen the entire perimeter of the blade (and have a dagger). So the diagram was pretty close to useless. Also, I could probably throw a stone and hit someone who believes that sharpening both sides of the cutting edge is superior. Next, almost any conventional knife can be held overhand or underhand (I hold the blade when throwing, sorry that’s how I was taught). Lastly, skeletonize frames are not unusual and cleaning most folders isn’t that hard. Fortunately, I did a fair amount of online investigation and will likely purchase the “flipper” version of this beautiful design.
