Cannon gun safes basically died and went to overseas hell after 2009. Never buy one today or most other name brands sold at box stores or tractor shops. If you do what you get is 14-18 gauge steel thickness lockers with a horrible electronic locks that will surely fail as you have found out.
Cannon’s customer service (if you can call it that) SUCKS ! You call and try to get help because your safe wont open and then wait on hold for 30 mins then they hang up on you ! 🤬
I had the same issue and i forcefully turned the handle and it broke! Turns out there is a solenoid that goes bad (what you showed in the video). I am able to unlock the safe with a key (I shouldve did this prior), but with no handle I cant open it!! I put a screw driver in the hole but its just hitting a sheetrock material. Is there a lever behind the sheetrock or is the sheetrock behind the lever and the lever fell??? Im trying to avoid not going the same route as you... Any tips on how this safe works would be very helpful. Their customer service sucks and is completely automated, they keep telling me what they told you
I will never buy a Canon safe. Customer service is NON-EXISTENT. They do NOT respond to emails or phone calls. They open a ticket system but it has been 7 days now with no response.
My sisters husband passed away and he was the only one who knew the combination to the safe. All of their important documents and who knows what else is in there and she has contacted Cannon and they have been no help what so ever. We still haven't been able to get in the safe and Cannon will not respond to anything. Their customer service really is non-existent!
If you still have the safe, can you show me the locking mechanism and where it dropped through the metal. I'm going to try to get mine open without cutting it. I think it is the same safe, one locking bar that I believe is facing down, opposite the cable that runs from the top to the keypad. I look at it with a scope briefly and think I can get something under it to free the bolt.

Looks similar to mine. Rhino metals brand safe. Its been ok so far, i would think multiple safe companies use those same keypads and brain inside
Yep, having the same issue with mine right now. Cannon does seem like junk....

Yeah, these safes are a piece of shit!! DO NOT BUY A CANNON SAFE!!!
Yep the original solenoid went bad and cannon replaced with new and pad, now the 2nd is bad. Ordered new from cannon, lets see what happens to the 3rd
Crap...and i just bought one of these things. I dont see a good future...
Ive had mine for 8 years and zero issues constantly going in and out of the safe.. op just got unlucky with a bad one.
@SmokeNGunsBBQ appreciate the insight and will hope for the best.
change out the electric mechanism to mechanical you will be fine. Ebay $50-75
I had mine 14 years before it went out. I should have bought a mechanical lock.
Yea there's a bar that slides side to side
I guess I’m lucky because replacing the battery every time I had trouble worked for me. Battery’s do go dead
