My Cannon safe would not open, i tried all methods you showed until the last one, the plastic hammer and a small block of wood, first the top , then to the right, not hard but a firm solid hit, and it moved and opened. Sir, i owe you. Great video.
I'm stunned! I was getting ready to call a locksmith in the morning because I couldn't open my 35-year old combination safe despite repeatedly trying every 30 minutes or so for many days. I saw your video and tried tapping the face around the dial with a hammer. On the third try, it opened! Thank you so very much! It seems so simple, yet it's genius!
Thank you for the video. The jiggling method worked on the first try on my old Major mechanical dial safe. Now that I got it open, I will definitely get it serviced... Great instructions!
My safe has given me trouble for 25 years. Turns out one of the number positions was off by one digit on the dial. Thanks for helping me understand the combination lock operation a little better. My safe opens easily now.
Exact same thing for me. Written combo on the instructions always made it a crap shoot of getting it open. Second number was off by 1. Just opened it 3 times in a row flawlessly thanks to this video.
Thank you thank you! That advice advice about entering last number and hammering around dial worked!!!! Locking lever must have been stuck as suggested.
Another good thing to try is to continuously pull the dial towards you as you enter your combinations. There is an internal part that contacts the wheels that turn inside the lock and sometimes it stops contacting especially if your dial moves in and out alot. Mine worked fine as long as i pulled on the dial a little bit until i could get a locksmith to come out. AMSEC covered everything ❤
Thanks! I got locked out and used the banging technique with a little force on the lever. Voila and open sesame. Technician is coming today to replace the 20 year old S&G6120 with a commercial LaGard.
Thank you for the instruction. I bought a used gun safe and got it home. It was delivered to me open and when I locked it the first time it would not open. I thought the combination they gave me must have been wrong. I tried your "tap with a non-marring mallet" technique when I got to the last number and tapped above the dial while turning to the unlatching position and this worked. I guess the mechanism may need some lubrication or something. Thank you for the help. This worked for me.
This worked for me - jiggling the tumbler. I recently added a door hanger that can hold pistol and ammo in my liberty. I forced it closed. Not much pressure but enough to let me know it wasnt going smoothly. Well this video help me get it open. Took the door storage off and i think we are good to go. Thank you,
I was locked out from my American Eagle Cannon gun safe. Used a rubber mallet, after several tries it opened. Still won't work, but at least a technician can get to the lock now.
On the first AmSec safe you showed, what do you do if the unlock handle just spins around freely? It looks like the handle has a good snug fit on the center spindle, but it just rotates 360 degree in both directions.
I have the AmSec ESL10. It’s giving me fits to open now. What trick can I use to even get it open the first place to change the battery? Will the mallet trick work on the electric locks? Thanks in advance!!
My son locked the dial with a ghost key. We don't have original key and never have used the key lock for 30 yrs. Only use the combination lock. Spinner is locked on 0. Any advise much appreciated.
Can you recommend a video? We have attempted with the ghost key that my son locked it with, no luck yet. Also tried other keys as well. I have always used the combination lock...never used the key spinner lock. Spinner dial is locked on 0. This safe was purchased new around 1995 ....American Security Gun Safe. Thanks 👍
@@stevenandrews4398 Make sure that you have a tension tool holding just a little bit of pressure in the direction you would turn the key and then try to just set the pins. We are talking about a mechanical lock with the little round key insert correct? If you get familiar with basic lock picking, I think it should open right up for you. I’m not a very good lockpicker but I can open those up in about five seconds
@@moderngrub1876 Well to be fair they can all be beaten. Some are just a lot harder than others. I would probably have a look at the RF series by American security.

That's exactly right. Good point!
Thank You so much! I got my safe open, S &G safe 4 digit. But my combo starts counter clockwise.
I can't thank you enough. Followed your instructions, and the door opened. You are the best.
Thanks! I got locked out and used the banging technique with a little force on the lever. Voila and open sesame. Technician is coming today to replace the 20 year old S&G6120 with a commercial LaGard.
Oops. The Fort Knox door was manufactured/installed before ADA rules so the LaGard won’t work. Hopefully S&G has something that works!

Thanks for posting, saved me a lot of headache.
@@raywebb7295 glad to help!
That American Security BFX with the white door and grey body is a beauty!
It is but darn it, they don’t use that textured color anymore.
@@parkerssafes No worries! You have a bunch of great colors and models. Love the AMSEC & Graffunder safes you carry. I watch every video you post.
I cant wait to start my training for safe cracking . It will be a joy to crack safes such as these 😆
Really really i aprecieat you are profetional because every thing that you show us all perfect. Thanks
Saved my butt, Thank you Bud!

Kids be playing with the 'fidget spinner' thats on the safe
lol
that turn back, after the last #, may need to go further, until a click, always move the handle and wait for the big click. then its open.
It's usually a dead stop where it won't turn anymore.
Lost Key to Tumbler on AMSEC safe it's locked into position, Door is open. How do I change out lock body and Dial.
How to service an s&g safe lock
Should I just buy a safe that works?
It’s still a free country. Have at it.

yes

American Security Gunsafe
That’s a super easy lock to pick even for someone that’s never tried lock picking. I would watch a couple videos and grab a bobby pin.

My dial isn't locking after the last number. What can I do?
Nothing. It shouldn't lock after the last number.
Have you ever tried using a earth magnet on some of the locks for fun 😂😂
@@thedon7536 They work on some of the cheap elocks I hear.
Make sure you don’t have glass plate.
Rapping on the door shouldn’t affect the tempered glass.
