Very nice video. Hopefully you get great use out of it for many years to come. Can’t wait to see more videos and projects soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Forge On. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God Bless.

Looks good. I've had the one put out by cast master for 3 years. 10kg model. It's still going strong. I don't use it much cause I'm usually forging more than casting, but it's nice to have. Made a few bronze cross guards and a bunch of coins with it. 🍻

Thanks, very helpful, liked and subbed. I just ordered the 12KG version, i notice you didn't coat the top of the insulation, was that to not spoil the fit of the lid? I'm assuming you coated the lid insulation except for the topside of the hole ?

I was concerned about the coating dropping into the crucible. Also the lid doesn't
get the same abuse that the sides of the furnace do so I was willing to take the risk based on the amount of times planed to use this furnace every year.

Would you say that this overall is a good starter kit? Or would I be better off looking for other things or building myself? Im looking for something approachable, I'm completely new to this and want to use it for some smaller scale experiments

I wonder if you could use it horizontally to temper steel.

The lid looks like it is insulated with k-wool. Is that correct? Is it meant to be coated with the refractory cement? Just asking as no one would want the furnace to spit out silicium fibers straight in the face of the user.

The instructions did say that the ceramic blanket should be coated with the refractory provided. This would include the lid. They did provide enough to coat the entire unit.

I would contact Vevor first to let them know. Everything I've heard about dealing with them has been positive. They should send it to you. If not, the product you are looking for is called rigidizer you can get it on amazon
