  • This a video about how to make your own tortilla rolling pin on a wood lathe. The wood blank started out as a 2x2x11 inch piece of black walnut. Watch this full length video to see everything from shaping the wood blank until the finishing process at the end. I had a lot of fun turning and making this video and look forward to using this awesome rolling pin! Great to view if you are looking into making your own handcrafted rolling pin.

Thank you for including your blank dimensions. A lot of folks dont mention those details which are important for me as I have no idea (absolute beginner here). Peace be with all of you

I noticed the relaxing effect as I was editing this video as well. I'm happy you liked the look of the rolling pin! I have a website that is under-construction right now. I should have it up and running soon. It will be at www.geiserwoodturner.com

Great job. Where did you get the small buffing wheel?

I got it at harbor freight as part of a small buffing set. Honestly I usually apply wax now on the lathe. Just put the wax on while it’s spinning directly from the wax block. Then just use a paper towel and apply a little heat and pressure to smooth out the wax. Works great! then I just finish the ends after they are sanded.
