  • Turning a French Rolling Pin. You can't make butter tarts without one, can you? I was not sure what the wood was until I turned it and saw the lovely grain. Now I'm fairly sure it's elm.

Very nice pin Gord! My sisters convinced me to turn French rolling pins a couple years ago! Probably have turned over 100 now. One thing I do is before I do my final sanding I wipe the pin down with a damp cloth to raise the grain and finish with 240 grit. Made a big difference on the finish product! Thanks for sharing your videos!

Yes, always keep your baking spouse happy. The Christmas season is baking season here, there may be a few cookies still hiding in the freezer. Very nice gift and well done. Just be careful, too many butter tarts and you'll need a wider angle lens. 😁

😂🤣😂🤣 I wonder if SWMBO would be impressed if I told her I needed a wider lens because of the butter tarts that I asked her to bake. Nope. I don’t have to wonder about that. I’d better get back on the treadmill real quick!! 😂🤣😂🤣

My wife enjoys the cleated shoes I got her for washing my truck in the winter. I';m goin g to make a rolling pin for her ,too, so she can make walnut pies for me after she gets done with my truck! Just wondering what your wife said about the oil finish? My pins are all bare wood with no finish and the flour sticks to them just right.
