Enjoying your g body rear brake conversion, and your honesty when you blunder. I'm a life time auto tech, and when you're about to do something I know that is wrong, you can't hear me yelling "don't do that!", but you'd LOL if you see how animated I get. I have had full service repair shops and have done training, and I applaud you for taking on your projects. I see so many guys afraid to even change plugs. On that post you were in a j yard and offered to get the backing plates and calipers off of 2wd blazers. I'm in the Northeast upstate NY. For the most part knowone on this area buys 2wd, and all those are rusted and crushed up here. The rust you encountered is a cake walk here, it would be a pleasure to see "that little discoloration" on a part we del with on a regular basis. I'm converting my 65 Chevelle to rear disc. I have a 12 bolt in the rear now. I've determined that the G body conversion would work for my rear as I want get both calipers with brackets and axle plates with e brake hardware. I'll use the calipers for cores as I put the system together. P.S. get a double flare and ISO flare set, a manual one works well and is affordable, I use a hydrolic setup, but have used what I recommended. A single flare line will split is why it is not dot approved. When you start double and ISO bubble flaring, you will find it so satisfying. Let me know if you can get me the brake brackets and backing plates and calipers and hardware and your terms, you can email me if you have questions "rcjlapj@hotmail.com"
I appreciate you being so detailed brother.
You need to spray out that hole your drilling with some air from your compressor from time to time! It will save your drill bits. Great vids bro!
Appreciate the shoutout bro 46:39 …glad it worked out for you
🙏
Great video bro…been waiting on it!!! Most detailed rear blazer disc brake gbody upgrade on TH-cam!!!! 🫡
Nice tip Bro, looks like that's my next diy project!!!
Nice instructive video 👌 Thanks for posting!
Great detailed video, thanks for taking the time to make this.
Excellent vid fam!!!! So glad to see the PPE being used! Bad ass!!!🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
this video was dope! Loved it thanks! I needed to figure out how to do this! G-body all the way!
Great video appreciate you taking the time to explain as you go
Downloaded saving this for my 78 Bu build
Way to go bra you did a hell of a good job
Great job bro I’m about to do a 82 Cut 🏁
You possibly could of used liquid weld for that brake line clip on your rear end.
Cool video
Use Rapid Tap Fluid for drilling or cutting then tap holes to 10mm x 1.5mm
Nice bro
Thanks I have a 79 Malibu going to do disc
Looking good 👍🏿
How did you get the e-brake to work?
@@PENNYLS1 I did away with the e-brake but to make it work use the back half cables from the blazer and the cable from the front on the Monte Carlo there is a repair coupler so you can join the two cables together
@@willierebuildz9182 Aight I’ll try that. Thanks
My boi Willie Rebulid be giving game frfr
I like how you break it down question no Disrespect so you're in Dallas so am I ........I have a 81 El Camino would like to ask you some questions on converting my rear end to disc brakes and decent gears
The brake setup would be the same for an El Camino as long as it has a 7.5 GM rear end. As for the gears, I’m no expert but I’m going with 3.73 gears with a tructrac posi unit.
I'm done far as my engine swap let's just say with the additional power of the engine just want to have better stopping power I put front dual pistons on the front from a blazer thinking about rebuilding my rear end myself always good to see people working on the old skool
🚀🚀🚀I had to watch it all the way through..Best decision I made today for sure..✅✅
Preciate ya fasho. 💪🏾💪🏾
Great video..priceless info…just for clarification…the front and back brakes came off the 98-04 blazer or s10? Also with the longer arp studs did you replace the lugs also? Thanks and again great video..
The front brakes are off a C5 Corvette. Yes the rear are off a S10 2wd Blazer. With the longer studs I just got some open ended lug nuts.
@@PENNYLS1 thanks for responding... I understand.
Does the rear calibers and plates have to be off a two wheel or four wheel blazer?
2WD from what I’m told. I think the 4WD drive has the calipers clocked different. It may work but I’m not sure.
Tell me why i was getting ready to blow the shavings off like im actually there 😂😂😂
Man that new drill bit was cuttin something serious 💪🏾
I just got everything to do this brake swap on my regal! I dont have coil overs and i am running the factory shocks. Do i still need a relocation bracket or am i good?
Naw you good if you got factory shocks
Are you keeping the Gbody brake reservoir or using the blazer reservoir? Thanks.
I was using a Wilwood but I switch back to Stock GBody one
Did you swap out your brake proportioning valve for one designed for discs? That is a key change you'll want to do. I swapped for a Ford 8.8 with discs but before I touched that I changed the proportioning valve.
Not yet but I will
@@PENNYLS1 It was very easy to do, just a bit of a pain to access the area. Will take an hour or two.
Can you use the proportion valve of the blazer or do you need to buy one new
@@wyatiger I think so, it looks the same as the the disc to disc one for the G Body. I went back to the salvage yard but couldn’t find one. Gonna just get a new one.
@@wyatiger they're pretty much universal to most cars it seems. The part was like $40 new. Just need a 50/50 proportioning valve
Where's the carbide bur you use last time on the front That would work a hell of a lot better than that grinder you got to smooth out the edges
Facts. It’s sitting right on the shelf. Didn’t even think about it. That Carbide bit is the truth.
Hey did you finish your rear end and disc brakes set up also are you involved in any G body or Chevy club
Yeah I finished the setup. Naw I’m not in any club or anything
Oh ok I plan on going to Deep elm with some of my old skool s plus I redone my interior upholstery and updated my estimate cluster to digital I'm med done with one of my old skools let's just say I have a poor man Corvette made by Ford with Gull Wing doors 351 V8 engine all hand built by me
This should work on 92 s10 blazer then? 4x4
Do you think with doing that conversion it will fit 13x7 rims
15inch
What's the part number for the rotors, please? Having trouble finding them for a 2wd..

Question the new rotors are for 98 s10 blazer right ?
Yes 97-2005
Ok thanks bro
Did you figure out how to set up the parking brake yet?
I think so I just haven’t finished installing them. I have to replace the rear calipers because they were seized up. Swapping them out today then when finish the parking brake
please post a video, planning to do this to mines. @@PENNYLS1
Wat size rotors
Stock S10 Blazer rear rotors. Will clear 15 inch wheels
