It can be done by hand taking the caliper motor off with a 7mil Allen wrench turn clockwise then back on the release the piston

You literally did not explain "How" to enter brake service mode. You just ranted about how you felt about it...🤭

I told you that you need a scanner tool to do so
And yes its frustrating as hell

you can hold the parking brake button and the start button in a sequence and it will go into service mode.

When I'm trying different combinations i get the service mode light to come on solid, but cant get it to enter the mode. It's almost like they didn't think about the software when they changed it from a single switch to the dual switch that my equinox uses.
I have $1000 scan tool from HF, but can't find the service mode in it. I can find the calibration that is supposed to be run after. Think i need a different scan tool.
Power Probe to do it manually it is. Worst case disassemble and full manual method.

Clearly there’s a way to put them into service mode without a scan tool-it’s in TH-cam in several videos and it worked for my ‘19 Equinox

@@Motorcycle_Man I took the motors off and did the job. As a tech, I prefer not to do it that way, but it only adds about 5 minutes a side.

@@marcsmith3881 Yeah, I'm realizing now that I should've mentioned that in the video. But I don't recommend it.

@@Motorcycle_Man It's hardly an issue if you are careful. I have done it that way on Range Rovers and Audis. A Scan tool that covers them all will be pricey. My new scan tool covers most vehicles, but not GMs for some odd reason.
