  • The compact crossover remains the hottest segment in the auto biz, and continues to see new nameplates jumping into the mix, where they join the #Chevrolet Equinox, which has helped define small SUVs for more than 20 years now. You know, that’s a lot of crossing the equator! So, let’s find out if a new fourth-generation #Equinox is a night and day difference or not. #ChevroletEquinox

    I’ve owe a 2020 and 2024 Equinox. Haven’t have one issue on either vehicles.
    I’ve driven Toyotas at work and hate their information system and handling.
    Keep up the good work GM.

    Just traded in my 2019 Blazer for a 2025 Equinox RS. The RS is not going to win any drag race competitions, but I also don't need it to. I need it to be a reliable every day driver that can get me from point A to point B and back. I also don't tow anything, so I don't care about towing rating. I also drive on paved roads 98% of the time, so I don't really need off-road capability. I looked at CX 5, CX 50, Rav 4 and Forrester. I was able to get more features on the Equinox for less money. Yes, maybe the Chevy will suffer a bit on resale in comparison, but I also got it for 4K less than I would have been able to get the next closest priced competitor. Local Toyota (Austin, Tx area) are adding 3K above MSRP. Now, I've only put 120 miles on it so far, but I've really been enjoying the heated and ventilated seats, the TONS of storage options, the panoramic sunroof, the 360 cameras (makes it nice to get in/out of tight spots) and rearview mirror camera. I had a 2015 Equinox before my Blazer and a GMC Terrain before that. None ever needed any mechanical work. Changed the oil, changed the tires, swapped the wipers and that was it in any of them. Edit to say that I do admit the stereo speakers are lacking for any bass response. I am adding in a Kicker down firing 10inch comprt box and mobile audio amp to give it a boost and may look at replacing the factory speakers down the road a bit.

      I just traded in my 22 Honda CRV for 25 Equinox LT best decision i made. Has more power than my 22 CRV, seats are so much more comfortable, feel safer in it, and infotainment system blows Hobda away. No one course hear me on Bluetooth without Hobda was awful! At 18,000 miles Hobda told me I needed new tires. I never needed new tires with that little mileage before. I also had a rav 4 before. As of now the 25 Chevrolet Equinox blows them both away! Love my Equinox! Alsoblove the heated steering wheel! Couldn't resist the deal I got either!

      Listening to people on these TH-cam car videos complain about power in many of the cars and SUVs....and I'm curious how fast do you guys need to drive? If you drive in city or local suburbia, how fast do you really need to accelerate to the next traffic light? And if you're driving on the highway, is it gonna make a difference if you can merge ONE SECOND faster onto the highway.😂. If you gradually accelerate, you get better mileage and longer life from your engine and transmission.

      @@jimd6913That's stupid. That's like saying it's okay to sell us subpar vehicles, for more and more money.
      0-60 times have never been about what we "need." It's a marker telling us if we have spent our money wisely on a vehicle that is principally up to scratch. If I ever want, or do need, real power to be there, then, for 35-40k, it better be there. Don't try to talk me out of it by telling me I don't "need" it. It's GM's job to make sure they have good powertrains, and they don’t get a pass because I don’t always "need" it.

    I have the 2025 Equinox LT FWD with the CVT. Just passed 3k and am very impressed. I’m averaging 26.5 mpg city driving and even hit 34 mpg on a trip from Portland OR to Eugene on flat I5. Concerning power, it has enough. This is not a sports car and don’t think about towing with it. I have the technology package. My seat vibrates often, it packs the brakes if you try to back into anything including humans, and the steering tries to take over if you start to leave your lane. You can turn it off, but I appreciate the nanny watching after me.

    Everyone commenting about this car lacking a 2.0T- They used to offer one, but none of you bought it. They discontinued it because a majority of buyers chose the 1.5T. They also offered a Diesel- which, once again, none of you bought. Buyers that want the 2.0T can step up to a Buick Envision, which is a member of the GM family. It would make no sense for the Equinox and Envision to be the same car- the powertrain differentiates them. Compact SUV buyers don't care about power, they care about fuel economy and MSRP. For those that want power, they must step up to a premium brand. This isn't unique to GM- Toyota, Honda, Nissan etc. only have one NA powertrain. The sales speak for themselves- GM used to offer an engine upgrade, as did every other manufacturer, but very few paid for the engine upgrade and instead went to premium/luxury marques for power. An Equinox with a 2.0T (or laughably a 2.7T like some commenters are suggesting) would easily be nearing $50k. At that point, just get a BMW or a Benz! Who wants to spend $50k for an Equinox??

    • @tedunguent156
      @tedunguent156 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They could tune the 1.5T to make more power if they wanted to sacrifice fuel mileage or reliability. A mild hybrid system makes more sense. Most manufacturers don't want to put anything more into the ICE platforms as they are going away. GM would much rather sell an Equinox EV at this point.

    Great video. I need to know if anyone has been experiencing any weird smells coming through the vents on their brand new 2025 equinox? my wife purchased a brand new equinox 2025 about 3 months ago and every now and then for a brief few seconds, she would smell a fume like smell (best description we have so far) and then it goes away and its back to regular car smell. This only happens when the AC is on recirculating, temp medium and fan speed on medium. We brought it to the GM dealership and they replaced the cooling fan (mind u this is a brand new vehicle) which reduced the smell drastically but there are still faint smell every now and then. We don't know what we are inhaling and despite our efforts, the dealership still doesn't know what is causing the smell since they can't seem to replicate it so we are documenting everything to give them, since it is still under warranty. If anyone out there has just bought a chevy equinox LT 2025, please let me know if you have the same issue and what was the culprit and the fix please. This is driving us crazy. I know if this was a BMW and we were having these issues they would have probably done more for us.

The “heart of the vehicle” will suffer cardiac arrest well before 90k miles, and for John (who is notoriously kind) to say adequately comfortable, that means you will have a backache on long trips. Oh, and 29 MPG but can’t hit a mid 16 second 1/4 mile? The VW Tiguan AWD can hit 34 on the highway and runs high 15s.
