    Mr Cuda, excellent video! I graduated from an automotive school in '75 but never ended up employed in automotive. But still took care of my vehicles in my own backyard. I do what I can. Miss the car hoist days from school. More and more electronics in cars today leave me with the deer stare in the headlights. My 2018 needed pads. There was still plenty of meat left on the rear (60,000) but the rotor looked just like yours did. I've rented scan tools before but knew this new parking brake had more to it than I wanted to "hack" my way thru it. I'm glad I found your page. Thanks!

      @@alyoungcuda Follow up. O'Reily's didn't rent, Advanced Auto loans a basic OBD2. Well I went and bought one. Innova Model 5510 (after getting the wrong one ). And those bolts for attaching the caliper bracket, holy crap! Those were torqued on by the factory and look like they had red locktight to boot. My impact with universal and extension, nope. I had to get my BFBB in there to just start them turning, then came right out with the impact.

    I just wanted to put it out there, I bought the 5160RS just like yours and there were no options for the left and right actuator. So when I test drove the park light flashes and I wasn't able to use the parking brake. I went back and retracted the EPB and set the parking brake without extending them. Now the parking brake works just fine.

    • @alyoungcuda

    • @alyoungcuda
      @alyoungcuda  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@USArmy91222 oh no, that code usually sets when the master cylinder reservoir is full and it doesn't have enough room for the brake fluid to be pushed back up into it and it damages the sensors in the ebcm. Check to see if your reservoir is filled to the top, that might also be a reason why the actuator won't retract back since the reservoir is full and the brake fluid has nowhere to go.

Also alot cheaper to buy that reader then pay the $1200 for the back breaks to get it done at the dealership. The fronts I was quoted $700.00. I can do breaks. • @alyoungcuda
      @alyoungcuda  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Depends on how they did it, as you can tell on some videos, the hack jobs are to jump the motor on the caliper with a seperate 12 volt source or disconnect the motor from the caliper or just grab a pair of pliers and twist the crap out of the caliper piston to push it back in. But as you can tell from the video, its simple and no damage done and the pistons push in like butter. If you read some of the comments, some people have run into problems without doing this 1st.
