- This one took longer to make than I thought it would, but to celebrate the release of Ufouria 2 (or Hebereke 2 if you're in Japan), I decided to make a documentary about the return of one of the weirdest, most imaginative franchises in gaming!
Special Thanks to @JohnRiggs and @SquarePegs for lending their voice talents to the video!

13:06 The original has been rereleased on the switch too.
You're absolutely right. I realized that that got dropped from the video after I uploaded, and there's no way to update the video once it's uploaded. Thanks for pointing that out though! I've pinned your comment so folks can see the correction. Thanks so much for watching!
You are so underrated! Not many people on the platform covers unique old games.
Thank you! Yeah, I've found that my tastes are a little more niche than a lot of other folks, but I'm so glad that people are enjoying it!
You're at your absolute best when you're doing these documentary style videos. Amazing work!
Thanks so much man! This is my absolute favorite kind of video to do, so that means a lot!
Oh! And I forgot to say it earlier, but thanks so much for lending your voice talents to this one!
You're underrated as hell. Keep doing what you're doing, you're great at it!
Thank you so much! These are my favorite kind of videos to do, so I'm glad you enjoyed it!
most underrated channel on youtube!
Thanks so much!
im a 2000's kid who has just now gotten into hebereke because of the lovely art style, but i was so wager to find more content abt it and im so glad i found ur video! very good video, i love it, keep up the good work! (where did u get that hebereke 2 wallpaper tho? i want that its so cute)
Loved this mini documentary! Amazing. Have you talked about Trip World?
Thanks! Not yet, but it's on my list of games to cover. I figured eventually I'll get around to covering all of the major Sunsoft releases from the period!
4:11 HE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE HEBE BECAUSE THE PENGUIN HAS A BLACK BACK AND HEBE DOESN'T
Glad the algorithm brought me to your channel. It's difficult to listen to others speaking cadence or voice on TH-cam (feels weird citing this). You have an engaging way of presenting thoughts and information.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Gamethyme sent me your video because I just starting making quick start guide for city builder/RTS games, and wow your videos are so polished and entertaining! I hope your videos will keep picking up steam!
Thank you so much! I'm making a concentrated effort to up my content game, so it's great to hear that folks are enjoying it! Thanks so much for watching!
I appreciate the work you put into this video!
I loved this game as a kid. My favourite game. Rented it and then picked it up for $5 used. Still have that copy and have since picked up a complete copy.
I really liked this video and started playing the original game because of it. WOW! While I am sad this was not in my collection in the 90s, it's still a blast to play it now.
Awesome! I love discovering old games, and I'm glad I could share some love for this one! Thanks so much for watching!
4:11 Hebe looks more like a bird because at the beginning of UFOURIA THE saga 2 hebe appears sleeping in a tree and in one of the comics or manga of the characters a penguin appears
Hopefully we will see more of Hebereke games. If you check out Sunsoft's TH-cam channel, they're going into full swing making content and silly animations with Hebe and friends.
Oh man, I saw that a bit after I published this video! They're leaning really hard into the weirdness of the series, and it's awesome. The crane arcade machine one especially is completely demented in the best possible way! Thanks so much for watching!
What a great soundtrack on this one hebe in the cold area is a great song to toss on a playlist right next to silius stage 2
Love ya John ❤
Too bad they couldn't make it for the NES too. I enjoyed the original very much and knew that the main character looked different in the Japanese version... That Leon was changed I didn't know however. I think the change was an improvement.
I was also very excited when I found out it was a series of games... but then disappointed when none of them where nothing like the original and none of them any good, IMO.
Great channel.
Thank you! Yeah, the other games in the series are a bit of a toss-up. Sugoi Hebereke is fun with friends, and Hashire Hebereke is cool once you get the hang of the controls, but super hard. You're right though - neither of them stack up to the original!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome mini documentary!
Thank you so much!
thanks brother. good info on acool series i just ndiscovered. ur a cool guy
Such a great soundtrack on this one
What are the two games in between Kid Dracula and Felix the Cat at 8:17. They look like fun
Oh! The first one is Little Samson, and the second is Metal Storm! Both are awesome!
I would' ve loved this game as a kid.
Oh man. I would have too. I didn't discover it until I was older, but man, I would have burned so much time on it as a kid. Thanks for watching!
A little girl in cat pajamas or a cat that happens to be female?
NOPE, MALE ICE DRAGON
Also weird that the snowman penguin isn't the one with freeze powers
11:13 That's literally just blue Pepe
This is a great game and very obscure heh....And obscure Japanese games happen to be my niche and place love these. I admit this game slipped under my radar for years even someone like me who emulates games. i am only just now finding it and by chance on my Nintendo switch I downloaded the original version that has all the emulator features in it like save states and all that junk. I'll def be emulating the others and I will be buying the 2nd game Hebereke 2. Curious question do you know these other obscure japanese games by any chance? There is the Wagyan Land series I played quite a few of them and Nage Libre an SNES and PS1 jrpg game those are worth checking out too and talking about I think.
I've never heard of Nage-Libre, but I love Wagyan Land! Definitely plan on covering that series at some point at least just to talk about it a bit. 😄
Thanks so much for watching!
@@BittyKongsQuest Nage Libre is great it is a tactical RPG with some fun characters and fun gameplay. Also despite it being an RPG it is quite easy to play it with 0 knowledge of Japanese. I played that game quite a few times. The sequel on the PS1 is called Nage Libre Seijaku no Suishin the company that made these games mysteriously went under though and no longer exists as far as I know.
Also great to see someone else who enjoys Wgyan! I love those games I even recorded gameplay f a few of those games over on my channel not that many people know of those gems I wish they were released in America alas I fear it will never happen at this rate the entire series is Japan only forever.
It's available on Steam too don't leave PC gamers out.
