It`s a mistake on the Spector Website, that the Tonepump/TP jr, is boost only. Treble is boost 14dB to cut 12dB at 6,5kHz. Bass is boost is +14 to +4 dB at 55Hz. Flat ist roughly 2/10 Bass and 4-5/10 Treble Knob. main flaw of the TP Jr.: the Output is not adjustable like on te regular Tonepump in higher priced Euro Neck Thru Models.
Hello, this is Rene and you're watching Beard The World Joking aside, how do Spector make instruments that are so versatile? It appears to me that they are vastly underappreciated for pulling this off. They're pretty too.
Yeah once I went over to Spector a couple years ago I've never been able to play anything else since. Even the low end performer series ones outclass some basses that cost twice as much. My first spector was a legend standard I got for $500 and it sounded and played better than my $900 Ibanez
Dear Grigor, as always, your unbridled enthusiasm is undeniably infectious! And, yeah, I’m looking for the same features on neck-through versions, even with higher price tags. Just have to sell one my vintage Mercedes-Benz’ or something… Thank you for keeping your awesome BASSTHEWORLD channel going. Almost holiday time. So, I’ll be buying more of your awesome merch. Just wore one of your t-shirts to a local Marcus Miller concert last month. PEACE.
I also got the Dimension in 4 string. It's an utterly beautiful instrument but challenges your technique when played at the low end. Don't believe all that faff about fan frets being easy to adjust to, they are not. However, have to say it sounds amazing. The nearest classic bass I can compare it to is the legendary Aria Pro II SB 1000. Don't bother with the five string, if you've never played fan frets before. It will simply slow you down and frustrate the hell out of you. The four string pretty much epitomises what the instrument can do.
Great stuff, getting mine tomorrow or monday! Would've hoped for little more normal playing with the 5 string one. 4 string one was demoed much better and the 5 string just got some weird wankery for demonstration :D
I just got the purple one, and it's super punchy. It's a really well made instrument for sure. Hey Gregor, an idea. Do a battle of the purple basses between this one and the Lakland GZ 44-64.
I tested the 625EX. Poorer quality compared to the spector rebop I own. Really wanted to like it but it had some serious issues with the frets and the overall feeling was not right for me.
The best basses ive owned a euro lx 5 for 10 years got it as my 21st bday present i had a legend 5 custom in matte black with these same pick ups in it. Im probably gonna buy one of these at the end of the year.
I didn't like the look at first until I held one and sat with it. They look different sitting in your lap then looking at it on a stand , and they feel very balanced and super comfortable to use standing or sitting
Hey, how much does that bass weight in kg? I always wantwd a warwick corvette 5 Today i finally played it, awesome sound, but it was soooooo Heavy. Kinda made me unsure if it is the right decisio .
I have to say, I had the opportunity of getting the NS Pulse 2, but instead I went for the 1st generation 1 as I preferred the separate volume controls rather than the pick up blend control, and preferred the colour scheme, I’ve got matte black with cinder red 5 string, and love it 👍🏻👊🏻🔥
Definitely! If you're into spector you should check out the marquess. Regarding value for money, the Harley Benton models are definitely better. But that does not devalue the spector at all
I'd probably have the same issues with Spector as with Warwick - the body is too small. I am selling my Corvette because it's uncomfortable for me to play seated.
@@phipschi4255 It's not the case, it's simply the small body. For example, for my wrist to be in a safe position, I'd have to pluck at bridge saddles. Standing up, it's all good, but I play seated 95% of the time. In contrast, my Sire MM V7 feels like I was born with it.
@@phipschi4255 Yeah man, I thought about it. Every single bass archetype was invented by him: precision (split coil), jazz (dual singles), Stingray (hum and double hum). Fender, Music Man and G&L, man was a genius.
That's subjective though. This is a Korean made model. I would be hard pressed to agree with you if we were talking about a Spector USA NS. But then you're spending 6 to 7K for one of those.

How did you record the bass? Just wondering if all you used was a bass preamp? Or did you mic a bass cabinet? Thanks.
That purple quilt is gorgeous.
As always, Rene's playing is the best thing about these videos. He could make anything sound good.
;-)
Rene rips

You really can't go wrong with a Spector at any model/price point.

The 4 string necks look amazing, beautiful Spector basses!

Tone is crisp, clear and big and bold. Absolute 🔥🔥
Very nice review video i am an ibanez fan but i love spector basses 👍
I prefer the sound of warwicks but the prices have gone way up lately, even on used market, these are interesting!
I got the 6 string NS-2 and I love it
I’m glad you checked them out
Got me a Spector NS Dimension 4 myself, Spector makes very, very good instruments. Eat your heart out Dingwall!
They all are different. Gotta catch them all

I have a love my 5 string! One knob is having trouble and is wobbly, but everything else is great on it.

I like the one in "bleck" :) I already own a couple of "bleck" ibanezes (SR800 and SRMS625EX), I wonder how it compares.
I tested the 625EX. Poorer quality compared to the spector rebop I own. Really wanted to like it but it had some serious issues with the frets and the overall feeling was not right for me.
Killin it! 👌 Nice feel 🎸

Update i bought the purpleburst 4 lol
I have a performer, 4 strings, i thinking the next will be the the pulse 5 strings in purple 😍
WOW I LIKE IT GREGOR
No fret markers?
That silver bass in the background. Did you buy it when you stopped by CME?
yes :)
Gibt es die auch für Linkshänder?
i think the body shape of spectors are growing on me a bit. they sound absolutely killer, though.
I didn't like the look at first until I held one and sat with it. They look different sitting in your lap then looking at it on a stand , and they feel very balanced and super comfortable to use standing or sitting

The 5s seem to be just under 9 lbs.
Sad that the 6string version is only in black

Spector, stingray, or five string p bass (passive)? I’m undecided for five string purchase…
Yamaha BB?!
They're gorgeous! 😦
Spector ♥️
Cool! i like Rene plaing
so beautifull
I'm a simple man. I see a purple bass and I add it to my amazon wishlist.
Okay, but I stay with my 1987 NS2 in black.
Do they still make NS2 ?
Yes, they are still producing the NS2 at there homebase in the states.@@nicktorious4829
Is it better than the JP-450P from Harley Benton?
Definitely! If you're into spector you should check out the marquess. Regarding value for money, the Harley Benton models are definitely better. But that does not devalue the spector at all
I'm a sneeze away from buying an NS Dimension.
good translate!
Thanks 🙂
Just me or...
Spector > Warwick? 😉
I agree
I'd probably have the same issues with Spector as with Warwick - the body is too small. I am selling my Corvette because it's uncomfortable for me to play seated.
i think the issue of your corvette is the lack of a forearm cut.
My Spector is a bit slippery when seated. Worth it tho

@@AlexandarShmex ahhh makes sense. Yeah, Jazz and P Basses are the most popular for good reason... Its crazy how good leo fender was

Looks pretty conservative to me coming from Spector 🧐
can't help but feel the move away from the regular spector inlays of the past are a cost cutting move.
Cost cutting? These are literally the best basses you can buy for that kind of money
I find those large ones on my Euro LX a bit too flashy - I wish for side-dots only.
If only it didn’t have a tone pump jr!
If I get a Pulse II, it's getting an LHZ Haz clone first thing.
Warwick better

I don't really see any difference between this and the first model, except for the finish. they sound identical
