I think you're right Gregor, ultralight basses def lack that low end. (At least to me they do) Then again those Aguilar pickups are semi picking up the slack for the low end.
Idk about that one, my dingwall is light and has massive low end it has nothing to do with weight, my stingray specials light and brutal killer low end
Gregor, if i may make a suggestion for short, 5 minutes videos? It would be awesome to make short introduction videos or the crew. By crew i mean, you and all the bassists. I am asking myself questions such as "is René a profesionnal musician?", "Is Frank retired, was he a professional musician?", Is Gregor really a bass player or just a pretty face?" LOL. Short biopics of the guys maybe with short interviews, answering simple bass-related questions such as "when did you start palying bass?" or "what is your favorite music style when playing bass?". Just a thought, we want to know more about BassTheWorld! Cheers!
@@basstheworldofficial I have watched it and love it. Frank is and awesome bassist and i am glad i could learn a little more about his past, his bass playing and his interest. Who's next? René Flex? Gregor? Ah ha, only time will tell. Cheers Her Gregor!
Does anyone know the deal with why Spector and Warwicks body shapes are so similar? I know that there is a million variations on the J, but which one of the two starred the beer belly carve?
Spector took over the design from Ned Steinberger. Later Warwick used the design, initially without consultation. Then there was a deal between the two and both companies produced the basses with curved bodies. However, there was no infringement of design rights because Warwick and Spector both soon modified the design. There was a similar story again and again with Fender, Gibson and others.
Being a fan of Spector and Aguilar Soap bars, these sound quite boring to me. Also glad you mentioned the fret buzz. In the clip at 2:30 i already thought the B sound hard to control and off. Pitty, a light 5 is what I am missing.
The only Spectors worth owning that the pre-Korg ones. Quality always takes a hit when a large company takes over and processes change. Plus lower resale value.
I can’t agree in this case. All brands Korg has bought in the last years have done a great job since (same as before). Darkglass, Aguilar, Spector. The NS Pulse II basses last year were absolutely stunning and the best Spector has ever released in this price range
Would be cool if they did them with split p-style pickups, as you mentioned. Humbuckers tend to lack sparkle. (Queue some bassists saying: "Why do you need treble on a bass?!")
But how much do these basses weigh? Old men with bad backs want to know. And with pawlonia wings on a maple neck, it must be neck heavy. If the balance was good, I have to assume you’d mention it. By the way, I have a Sandberg Superlight that has plenty of low end. I love that bass. For anyone out there who needs a lightweight bass, don’t give up on pawlonia until you’ve tried it for yourself.
I’ve always thought of Spector and Warwick as cousins but Warwick has the cooler headstock these are beautiful basses!! I’m not a Spector guy but these Tho!!
I recently tried Spector, 2x. I had issues with pre-amp and ground loop problems. They were extremely noisy. Had to return them both as defective. I hope they get their quality issues figured out. I will not be ordering any more Spector basses.
Absoutely great sounding and big thumbs up for low weight. I just can't understand why Spector made them look so ugly! They look like some kind of late-70's orange-stained nightmare. Still, others might love it and that's what the world is all about!
I'm sure there is no reason to be concerned but the body being glued to the neck activates anxiety. I would be too paranoid of the bass falling apart to own one. Again i'm sure it never will but it would always be in the back of my mind.
I have a Korean made Legend 4 Custom, Bubinga Spector from 2010, it's a 3-piece maple set neck. Nothing has fallen apart in 13+ years. I wouldn't fret. This thing's solid.
I think Frank's stank face has got to be one of the best I have ever seen 😂
Frank absolutely killed it, as usual. What a great player.

@@Spookdookin I actually thought of making that joke and decided not to. 😂😂😂
@@ianboylan1981 missed opportunity 😄
Best facial expressions!
Mr. Itt is a heavy-weight bass player! I´d appreciate know more ´bout his work.
Frank as always is the cream on top!!! Awesome playing!
Best bass channel on the interwebs. Thanks to Gregor, Frank and all the other guest bass players.
I love Spector basses. Absolutely amazing sound, and nothing has a more comfortable body and balance.
Stank face legend Frank Itt is really bringing out the best in this bass!
Frank killing it as always.
Frank "killing" Itt (all). 😄
Recently got one of their euro models. Very impressed!
Love the outro animation. What a coincidence I have a sundown glow 5 coming in today. 3.2kg
All hail Mr. Bass Face! Frank is an absolute monster player.... and now I miss my old Spector. 😥

I always associate these basses with hard styles like rock or metal but...do yo recommend for soul or latin jazz? Thank you
Super gespielt, Frank! Stellt ihr hier auch mal deine Green Machine vor? Insofern du sie noch hast!?
Love your channel. Thanks for the breakdown.
At 2:30 section labeled "B - String", it sounds like its tuned to a D?
Love this channel! Keep it up, boys!
Great stuff! Frank making it look easy! ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
So good!
Frank Itt is a funky old dude, he's super cool

They sound awesome. What about neck dive? Does the lighter body affect the ballance much?
the necks are just as light. no neck dive
Frank and Lars are my favorite. Most wide range of abilities 😊
Does the stank face come stock?
Makes me want to learn Bass :) Thanks man..great video as always! Best Regards and Best Wishes for 2023!
I have owned several and they are nice basses....
Matte finish is lovely.
I don't find that roasted maple necks sound vintage. They sound a bit different than non-roasted but not necessarily "vintage" sounding.
Great video! RST vs Cort Modern? Which had better low end tone and presence?
This one here

best dad and lad team on you tube
The sound is so great. Powerfull. Light weight and low end. Perfect. The finish and design is not what i would prefer.
There's nothing like a Spector
Being a fan of Spector and Aguilar Soap bars, these sound quite boring to me. Also glad you mentioned the fret buzz. In the clip at 2:30 i already thought the B sound hard to control and off. Pitty, a light 5 is what I am missing.
Same. I'm also missing the 2,300$+ really don't see how its worth that much but ok
The five string is AMAZING
Sound amazing, I have a Korean from 99, I am eventually gonna hit up a US build!!
These look great, but does anyone prefer 2 volumes over a volume and pickup blend?
I do! 2 separate volumes allow more specific mix sounds
Are Spector basses neck heavy?
...was ist denn das für ein roter Amp-Head auf der darkglassbox?
Ein He-Man Amp 🙂

nice to see, my best regards to everyone.
my old man was certainly enjoying that pick style tone 😂 it does sound killer 💯
Great Video!!!

Matte finish? NEVER AGAIN!
And yes, i love Spector basses.
The bass player is so good 👍
Itt, das Tier!👹
Hope you get to demo the new Epiphone Newport!
Frank the bass man 🙏
Frank has the best stank face ever 😂😂😂
Sounds great. Looks and costs terrible
Damn! Was thinking about that too. I believe it's a push for my first bass

And how light are they actually? 😂 Edit: 4-string almost exactly 3 kg and 5-string a bit under 3.5 kg. Impressive!
Just watch the video
WOW VERY NICE
These are better than the ns dimension
4:44 CHECK MATE davie was here
koks!!!
I would buy shirts with franks bass face on it. please, pretty please get some printed ;-)

Generic and repetitive comment about Frank and how he is "killing it".
Frank !

Was this the Spector Euro LT with the Darkglass preamp by chance ? I had a noisy ground loop with this setup
It's really that light? Spector is known for their neck dive and weight
And they only cost...
OH MY GOD!
Frank's got "Itt".......

3000€.....oida...

Great review but you failed to mention how many chesseburgers they weigh. Just sayin'... 😁
I don't want to be that predictable 😏
I feel like there's something lacking for the price, I'd prefer a more sparkly sound like Warwicks
Strandberg is 7lbs they route out their basses.......
The only thing is I hate their finishes.
Have the adoption papers finally gone through? Is Frank now your dad?
chist, 3k! stopped watching, lost all interest
I know it’s not your call but these basses are way overpriced. $3100 USD?! Highway robbery.
r u gonna mention HOW light these are?!?
I did
