I have the 1st gen Pulse 5 and I absolutely love mine still to this day. The one thing I wish Spector would’ve carried over was the matching headstock. Otherwise these are gorgeous basses!
Wonderful demo Ian. These basses have a real gorgeous clarity to their sound. I have the first gen 5 string model which sounds pretty much the same as this one. The EMG pickups are particularly impressive, powerful, punchy and hi fi.
I bought a spector for dan briggs from between the buried and me and arif from protest the hero. Both players wrote the songs for the bands and are amazing players!
I've never liked the EMG guitar pickups (81, 85, 57 and 66 - their more passive sounding pickups are okay), but their bass pickups sound great. Active pickups in guitars usually sound too perfect, you don't get that highly coloured and very uneven frequency response that we've have come to love, but that very even and perfect response suites basses much better. You'll never get that vintage vibe you can get with a P or jazz ofc, but the versatility you can get out of them is incredible.
Bruh Ian is not only a bass guitar monster but also sales wizard 😂 I mean - dude is selling you this bass without even plugging the thing in 😆 good thing is it actually looks and sounds incredible, would buy right away if shipping to my country wasn't so expensive 😥
tuve un spector hace unos años y debi venderlo para no terminar viviendo en la calle. nunca me arrepenti tanto de desprenderme de ese bajo. algun dia volvere a tener uno.
Been saving up for the ultra violet. Now my concern is that I don't seem to be able to pick and choose between the variations of the flame tops. I guess I'll keep at it till i find a dealer who has the flame maple top that I want.
Hi ian, I love your reviews! Have you also tried the 4 strings ? I see is a PJ while the 5 strings you play here has two soapbars and I really like it, could you by chance also review the 4 strings ? I'd like to buy it but I wouldn't want to find myself with something different... thanks!
Hi love your vids . I have the chance of buying a rebop 4 dlx pj I've looked for videos on them but carnt seem to find any only forums and most people who have them talk about neckdive I have asked about it in the forum but have had no reply as yet . Would you happen to know if the neckdive is bad or put me in touch with someone who might know please thanks
Planning on pre-ordering this exact model Scott. Have you received it? Also, does the model you ordered come with a separate battery cavity? (the one that Ian demos here doesn't). And separate volume knobs or a master volume for the pickups. I keep seeing varying specs of this model everywhere.
Got a Dimension5 and fucking Love it. BUT I WISH Spector whould do JP Pickup Config on there 5 String models. Not a single 5 String Spector has PJ - everyone has Hums. i want to have a 5 String PJ Spector. Make it happen please. It cant be that hard.
I've had this bass for over a year now and am overall pleased with it but not entirely. The tone is huge and sits really well in the mix. The sustain on this thing is brilliant; the roasted neck makes a difference. It's also much lighter than my other basses and is comfortable to play for long rehearsals. The cons would be that the saddles on the bridge are not fixed and will fall off if you don't change the strings one-by-one. The plate for the battery has to be removed with screws and this wouldn't be an issue if the battery did not drain so fast. Even when the instrument isn't plugged in, the battery drains. On the occasion that I forget to remove it, the battery dies within 2 weeks. Also, I've noticed some considerable wear on the frets. I expect more from an instrument that cost around £1000. It sounds great but leaves a lot to be desired.
Ian needs to lively up himself. He's like a damn zombie. Barely even moves his lips when he talks. Sarcasm of course. Gotta love the passion. But 5k for a bass is a little too much passion.
the fact that he mentioned mike starr makes the spector bass legendary
For sure! I don't think that sounded close to Mike Starr's tone w the Haz though. It sounded more like a slight fuzz effect.
Just bought the 4 strings version in its black finish and the quality of this instrument is unbelievable for the price. Thx Spector.
You folks made the right choice having Ian do these demos! Fantastic! Keep it up!- Brent, VT
My fave bass demo person! Greetings from Richmond, CA.
You make that Spector sing at every turn/note, Ian! 🎵
Saw the Spector vid was waiting for the Ian vid. Love you dude.
What an great choice to have Ian doing these videos, and holy shit that's an awesome sounding bass.

What do you think about the tone pump jr?

Absolutely love this review Ian you knock it out of the park!!
It had me at a Spector not being $2500-$7000 lol
The spector NS pulse is my dream bass. I have been saving up for one.
That’s awesome! Which finish is your favorite?
@@OfficialSpector the ultra violet is gorgeous! The black cherry is also beautiful!
each time I hear Ian say: "... listen to this B-string.." I do understand: "listen to this beast ring."
I bought a spector for dan briggs from between the buried and me and arif from protest the hero.

Big fan of your demos mate thank you from Australia

Will it Webster? 🙂
I think, definitely.
This guy can sell ice to eskimos! What a great demo!
Gorgeous Bass.

M interested in the white version.

I Can NOT find videos for the 6string version, At All.
You win... I bought one. Now I win!🤘
As first commenter I deserve a free one
I'm sold on this big time now.

So what does this improve over the standard NS Pulse?
Great demo. Sounds sweeeeeeet! 👌🤩🎶🤘
May I have one with Fishman Fluance pickups for multiple sound options please!
Hola, viene este bajo en 4 cuerdas??? Gracias!!!
Great Vid. Can you do the 4 String Pulse II please ?
Hi ian, I love your reviews! Have you also tried the 4 strings ? I see is a PJ while the 5 strings you play here has two soapbars and I really like it, could you by chance also review the 4 strings ? I'd like to buy it but I wouldn't want to find myself with something different... thanks!
Hello, I would like to know what you think about the weight of the headstock because I don't feel balanced when playing while sitting down
Will it MCA?! 🤣. That was cool. Although, I think he used a Fender Jazz on that song.
Will it Rex Brown?

sounds really great!!! what is the weight of it?
Can someone recommend cheaper hardshell case alternatives to Spector's own flight case for the Spector NS Pulse II 5?
I finally got one but with 6 strings, totally blows my Ibanez out of the water
Which pedal did you use for the RATM sound?
How's the b-string on the 0-4 section? Didn't seem all that muddy like a lot of 5 strings that are standard scale
What pickup heights do you guys recommend for the 5string pulse?
That sounds beefy! Got one on preorder.

I need to know the effects chain used in 6:08

Better get a Warwick!
I have a Warwick but now I want a Spector
Do these come left handed?
Out of interest, what are you playing the bass through?
can someone tell me what is that Wimbish bassline in 4:48 ?
leave it alone from the album stain
Pfffff lmao! Ian when you said swamp ash, Immediately, I thought you said swamp @ss as in butt sweat

Swaamp Ash
Sounds great, but that Mike Starr Would tone was not right. Nice bass, and great playing as always.
Wait a second!
Is this a paid endorsement?
Why bolt on though?
You drop the ball on that one Spector.
😁
I like my NS5's...
Ian needs to lively up himself. He's like a damn zombie. Barely even moves his lips when he talks. Sarcasm of course. Gotta love the passion. But 5k for a bass is a little too much passion.
this sounds nothing like Starr.
Nobody plays right above the neck pu
Justin Chancellor (Tool) picks closer to the neck
