Complete Guide to Gods: • The COMPLETE Guide to ...
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an open world action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fifth main installment in The Elder Scrolls series, following The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 11, 2011.
The game's main story revolves around the player character and their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. The videogame is set two hundred years after the events of Oblivion, and takes place in the fictional province of Skyrim. Over the course of the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills. The game continues the open world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time, and to ignore or postpone the main storyline indefinitely.

Dagon’s plane of oblivion just seemed to me to be a lazy replication of our own image of hell and that never really made sense to me given his sphere of influence (ambition, change, revolution) but then I came to realise that volcanic activity, while destructive, also changes the environment and creates new landmass. Change through brutal and violent upheaval, that’s very much Dagon.

@@DaniDaWolf Ah but Lucifer wanted to rule the universe not to destroy it.
His ambition was not merely to destroy and change the order but to place himself as the new God.
Molag Bal is a being of corruption, domination, deception, and enslavement. He wishes to see all mortals bound to his will. He sought to steal the mortal realm from the gods so that his rule would be supreme.
Both are certainly Satanic but molag bal comes closer.
Dagon is a fiery demon, molag bal is a serpent like demon.
Dagon destroys while molag bal seeks to corrupt the godly, to separate humanity from the divines. He even created vampires just to spit in the eyes of a god.

I find quite ironic that Molag Bal, the Daedric Prince of domination and enslavement, is enslaved and dominated himself, by the concepts of his being. I dare say, incapable of free will.
The same can be applied to Mehrunes Dagon, he represents change, revolution, but as a Daedric Prince, the last thing he's going through is change. He'll be forever a symbol for those concepts.

@@caiawlodarski5339 He wanted to destroy tamriel. He wanted a specific kind of change. You know what changed? A bloodline died out but the whole reason he wanted to destroy that specific bloodline was so he could invade.
His invasion failed, the bloodline died but in the process he got his ass beat by a dragon god, and was permanently cut off from the world that he keeps failing to conquer.
Yes he likes change but he had an obvious goal in mind. He had a plan that failed.

I think it's fair to say that Dagon didn't fail. His one goal was to change Tamriel and bring the system to it's knees, which 100% did happen. He killed off the Septim Dynasty, caused the non-mage survivors to grow a distaste for magic that persist 200 years later, and ended the freaking era. He put Cyrodill into a position where it could be challenged, leading to the Second Aldmeri Dominion and the War. The events fulfilled another part of the elder scrolls and allowed for the return of Alduin to occur. It's getting to the point where ES VI might not even have an Empire, with the war in Skyrim raging on, Morrowind practically uninhabitable, and every other province weakened or angry at the crown. Hammerfell already broke away, and they were the ones who arguably gave Cyrodill a chance by forcing the Altmer into leaving the province. Skyrim is in it's own civil war, and they have constantly saved the many Empires from death before (the liberation of the Imperial City included). Argonia now exists, and they hate basically everyone. Elyswer is now with Valenwood and Altmeris. The only ones still loyal are High Rock, who didn't get hit that hard and were successful.
Dagon won his war, and Tamriel will feel it's events for centuries

Dagon's goal was chaos and change, even a single mortal can do that. Molag's was complete domination of Nirn and all within it. One of these is clearly much harder to accomplish than the other. While Molag's defeat was embarrassing he _did_ manage to control the imperial city and it's legions for a while and could have very well defeated the armies invading coldharbour eventually if it wasn't for Meridia helping his enemies and that little bit of divine intervention by the vestige destroying his psychical form.
It's a little unfair to compare these events _too much_ because they had completely different objectives and one had many more enemies fighting against him. But yes, in the end Dagon was much more successful in his goals and _did_ end a dynasty which is impressive.

Would you consider making a video exploring what would happen if an unlikely alliance between the Dunmer and Orsimer sprung up?
I’m just thinking: the Dunmer and Orsimer are the two races of “corrupted” elves who worship Daedra, they’ve both been knocked out of a foothold in the world, and their skills combined would make for a devastating army.
There’s a little (okay, a lot) of bad blood between Malacath and Boethiah but as peoples they have more in common with most non-human races so... what if?

Honestly in terms of these two princes Mehrunes Took the cake. This is because He actually got what he wanted just not in the way he originally wanted. Because unlike Molag Bal Mehrunes actually succeeded in bringing one aspect of his very nature to forever change Tamriel. Especially killing all the Septims which was the big one. Not even Molag Bal could kill off the biggest obstacle in the path Daedric conquest yet Mehrunes succeeded easily. Plus if it wasn’t for Dagon the Thalmor wouldn’t exist in the first place. Which does make Mehrunes win because Molag Bol failed in every part of his invasion. Plus I bet he just wanted to rape and kill more women to create more pure blooded vampires. Although I will say this. Nocturnal came the closest to dominating all of existence yes you heard me right all of existence not just nirn. By using the crystal tower in summerset she invaded every dimension in existence including Aetherius and Many others by using the crystal tower. Only to be stopped by the Vestige before everything would turn to shadow and eternal darkness. In fact it actually makes sense that Mehrunes destroyed the crystal tower because if another daedric prince or any divine being for that matter got a hand on it then everything he stands for will never happen again which he probably couldn’t afford.

I think Bal was on to something with the creation of the vampires. Tameriel (especially Skyrim and Cyridil) is absolutely infested. Despite the ignorance of the masses, vampires are a constant and huge threat. Mortals empowered with the blood of a daedric prince are incredibly powerful.
Here’s what I’m thinking: what if Bal made vampires into artificial daedra? Just like what Rada Al’Saran tried resurrected vampires could be an eternaly growing force so long as the here are mortals to turn. If you measured pure blood vampires like Lamea or Harkon against your average dremora they’d absolutely dominate them. Not to mention the fact that vampiric strains occasionally “mutate” or new strains are gifted by Bal. Not to mention that the predatory instincts that come with the condition corrupting mortals would be much easier. I think Bal missed a huge opportunity by not keeping closer tabs on these undead leeches

    • @ericcardinal9138
      @ericcardinal9138 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Exactly. And while we kick molag bal's but, we are in a zone where no random players can be around. It's actually the case for most of the missions about molag bal. If we don't count those where the factions army march on molag bal's world. Same with the sload. Some of the missions against them are solo.
Plus by disabling everything in the ui, even the players name wouldn't be seen and during battle, they could look, like some high rank faction member. So, puting video's of the real thing could only better it, from my point of view, since it would show us what the real thing really look like. Plus with the imperial city dlc, there would even be video materials for molag bal's plan there with even a dungeon at the white gold tower with molag kena (molag bal's child) being the final boss of that dungeon.
