    Great video! As someone who loves outdoor camping and values family time, having a reliable backup power source is essential. The Segway Portable PowerStation Cube Series seems like a fantastic option with its massive capacity, fast recharging, and waterproof technology. Plus, the smart app control is a convenient feature. Definitely worth considering for all outdoor enthusiasts and RV lovers!

    Very helpful, thank you! I had to upgrade to an 8TB hard drive but it’s and HDD, I’ll look for an SSD in the future or the NAS system. I just recently also learned about BackBlaze and I’m backing up my computer and external hard drives to it. It’s taken over a week and it does use up bandwidth, it slows down video uploading and streaming when it’s backing up continuously. I’m hoping that it will be better once everything is fully backed up and it just does smaller updates 🤞🏻

    It took me a while and lots of external drives to figure out my backup solution. I now use the WD My Passport Ultra 4TB for Mac. It's a super cheap and reliable HDD (hard drive) that I backup my MacBook Pro and two Samsung SSD (solid state drives) daily and weekly.
    One Samsung drive is an archive of all my old clients, documents and media files, and the other Samsung is for my current media files (photography and video). I have a third Samsung SSD drive that is a clone of my MacBook Pro. I also have three old LaCie Rugged hard drives for very old files. Also, it's very important to keep a record of all the folders and/or files on each drive. I have so many drives, that I need a record to quickly find files I need and how much storage is available on each.
    So far this solution has been the fastest and most convenient solution for me and it's not very expensive. I'll have to look into a much larger external drive for working on media files as my business grows, but for now it's a good solution. SSDs keep getting cheaper and faster which is great and a must for artists.
    Thanks for this video!

    I have been researching for weeks and I’m still so overwhelmed. I have a million diff hard drives with duplicates & nothing is organized bc I can’t keep up.
    Can I copy to two hard drives on the OWC at the same time since it’s not a Raid? Store one in a fire safe box? Use SSD’s so it would be faster than uploading to my two separate 5TB Seagate’s one at a time? I keep reading a Raid system isn’t really a 2nd backup. I just want to backup family photos and have an easy way for my kids to have access one day. I’m not sure I want to invest in the Synology yet or can even figure it out. #busymomlife We’ve already had a close call with a lightening strike and Texas tornados so this is keeping me up at night 😅

    Do you have recommendations for some good instructional video ons setting up the Synology 4-bay NAS? I have the hardware but haven’t found a really good instructional video. I’m new to your channel, a recommendation from Steve Cusato, and noticed the Synology thumbnail. Your information is so well articulated, easy to absorb, and exquisitely produced. I thought maybe you could direct me to a source. Or maybe have Mr. Simon do a video. 😊. I am a geek, but not an IT geek. Thanks for this information, I am at least happy that I invested in the right hardware if only I could get it working.

      I'd like to ask you something about Sinology. How can I upload my raw photos there and use it as a big hard disk (no matter how many disks there are) to store all the shots? For example, can I insert an SD card into it or upload files only through the web interface? ;) I would be grateful if you share the model you bought, a very interesting experience.

  • @Nobody2day553
    @Nobody2day553 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Cloud based backup using synology is incredibly expensive.... you can, instead, get a second synology and put it at a family member's house and sync them. Costs a little more upfront but it'll save the $100s you spend on cloud backup.

    OK this was awesome. You guys are so cute together! Ok now for my questions: If i get a 4 bay Synology does that mean I store stuff on two of the four and then the other two are the mirror drives? I was looking at the 2 bay version but each bay has a 2tb max and since the second drive is just a mirror, I don't think 2tb will last me very long.
    So does that mean I will get 4tb of storage and 4tb mirror drive on the 4-bay version? Assuming I buy four 2tb drives?
    Boy that was a lot of numbers hahahaha! Thanks to you both!

    • @ninoslavjovanovic7299
      @ninoslavjovanovic7299 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, you can actually get empty Synology or Qnap with 2 bays and stuck 8tb or bigger HDDs (check for supported ones) and have it set with Raid 1 (Mirror) means if you stuck 2x 8TB you will use only 8TB....but if you get 4 bays, there is raid 5 or SHR (Synology typical) that will allow you to use 3/4 of 4 drives space (if they are same size), meaning if you stuck in 4x8TB drives, you get 24TB of storage (with one drive failure permitted)
