Hey Forrest, great video! Would be super stoked to see your backup/organizational workflow when it comes to post processing. For example, how do professionals balance cloud storage, external SSD's, NAS, etc when editing and exporting? Do you utilize DNG or .xmp files to save your LR edits for future use? What does the culling process look like? Do you have separate catalogues for printing and portfolio items? The list goes on and on and on... and on - any insight on that end of the photography spectrum would be super useful so amateurs and semi-pro's can future proof themselves if/when they decide to make the transition. Thanks a ton!

Excellent questions - this comment might just be a video in itself

This is so helpful. I always back up my files but not nearly quick enough (in field or before leaving the set). Thanks for always educating my friend!

As quickly as you can reasonably do it is the best bet! Even when I'm not shooting paid work I try to do it this as having the habit is important, even if some of the shoots are not. Thank you for watching and for the comment!

Great Video....I like how you structure your projects. Quick tip: If you write your date the other way around (like 220220 or 22-02-20) your projects will automatically sort by increasing date.

Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment! Since my folders go Year > Month > Day I like using the "1- 2- 3- " format so it feels a little less computer-y haha.

Do you use a faster card in slot one and a slower card in slot 2, (sony camera). Or do you like to always use fast, more expensive cards for both slots? And how many times can you reformat a card before it wears out? Great video, you are clear and explain things well.

I shoot Fuji X-T4 with two cards and I use a fast(er) card for RAW and a slow(er) card for jpeg without any issues (I usually shoot single shot. Not burst mode)

Hey Forrest, thanks for this! I have a scenario question for you. I’m travelling to Europe for three weeks in the summer with only my Q2 (single card slot) and no laptop. What would you do for storage and backup? Thanks and much appreciated!

Absolutely! I use Peli cases for camera gear and cards - I just don't want them all in the same place
