as for Evaporate running, maybe they decided toi send him for a spell, he has had some hard racing, then they see only 9 runners in the Cox Plate and they pay Prizemoney down to 10th, canter around and pick up $75 Grand, when I say "canter around" I am talking worse case scenario
There will be too much pressure for 3 Year olds this year in my opinion, Prognosis is world Class, Via Sistina is on an upward spiral, When POJ beat her in t he Queen Elizabeth it was VS's second run from a spell and second run in Australia, then her last 2 runs were on soft tracks, her two wins were both first up, I would think a new peak is more than likely, Prognosis is proven world class, if POJ goes like the clappers it will be right in his wheelhouse you would think if Japanese times are relevant, then of course there is POJ who will make sure there is no loafing and hse just keeps going, I nearly always look for value outside the fav's but this looks a 3 horse race to me....between the favs, and the prices don't appear to have any fat on them When VS dropped JMac and galloped off on her own, the bookies reacted by easing her to $6, I took some of that but that is really the only reason I had a bet, I took $6 about a $4,50 chance, the gallop has no relevance, she was at the pointy end of the Gallop when she lost the Jockey, she was about to be let go and sprint home, instead she did 3/4 pace for a couple of laps, she would pull up without blowing out a candle, she would be pretty fit, she would have did some work every day this week, they will just adjust it, if she is injured they will scratch and then I get money back(it was a final field Market) If Waller and the vets are happy then so am i
I don’t think POJ will lead the way she did in the Queen Elizabeth - I suspect they’ll try to lead by 5/6 and in a more controlled tempo - increase her lead 800/1000 in the race - but I’ve been wrong before. She is certainly adding plenty of intrigue to the Cox that’s for sure
@@greattipoff is she the one to beat?? Man I’m struggling with this 1. Honestly - before she fell I was ready to declare Via Sistina. She had world class form before coming here - the Turnbull showed she is getting close to it. Having something go wrong like 5 days before the Cox Plate though? Man that is not ideal. Having said that - I was all over Without A Fight for the Caulfield Cup last year - til they said he had an issue or some shit - comes out and kills it 🤦♂️ yeah I’m going with Via. The 3yo’s scare the shit outta me - but it’s been shown tough to win for even elite 3yo’s. Samantha Miss better than these 2 and she couldn’t win. As for POJ - it’s been shown a tough race to win for leaders. The ones that did in recent enough times - SYT, Sunline, Might & Power - champions. Shamus Award - zero weight. A horse like Maldivian did but not the strongest year - yeah I like Via Sistina
