Thank you for another great profile! I know this is supposed to be a weak draft, but these mid-1st-round prospects look like a decent group for instant impact minutes for playoff teams: OKC at 12, Sac 13, Miami, Philly, Lakers, Orlando 15-18; there are some interesting guards and front-court players to look at. This should be an interesting draft... I'm curious how you might rank these smaller guards and 2 guards for fit with teams, because Carter, Collier, and McCain are totally different players, but look useful. And for 2s like Walter, Furphy, Shannon Jr, George, Tyson -- this group is pretty intriguing, low-key underrated?
I see Desmond Bane upside but more likely he's just a good role player. Movement shooting is always valuable and he seems to have solid enough playmaking upside to be able to punish hard closeouts. I think his game will translate really well to the NBA with improved spacing. As long as he can hold up defensively, he should be good
He reminds me of CJ McCollum when he came out of Lehigh, CJ didn’t have a great handle when he was coming out either and I think McCain can be a FLAMETHROWER from 3
I recall CJ being known for having an NBA ready bag coming out of college, pull-ups in the mid-range, along with good outside shooting and playmaking potential. But I was extra keyed in on him because The Blazers picked him. Size and athleticism were the knocks on CJ and still are his main limitations as a 2 guard. McCain looks more like a mini PJ Tucker to me, a rebounding machine who can shoot the hell out of the ball and play some defense. I love him but lottery seems a bit high imo...
@@G_WillPower clearly you don’t then. You can’t predict what a 19 year old, let alone almost any draft pick will do in 10years. It’s asinine to predict anything in sports. You think he’s the first guard that can shoot a jumpshot? He’s tied the number 16 pick in an extremely weak draft. Can his career be long, of course . Same as every single drafted player for decades. Now how many of them had success decade careers? Maybe 2-3 by average in every single draft , and the length of lottery picks by average is 4-5 years. But you know ball because your opinion not based on anything other than he can dribble and shoot is he will have a decade long career. That’s so irrational. Nothing in sports is guaranteed, especially when the statics prove that. He may or easily may not. There’s no for sure he will. You should be smart enough to understand that
Number 1 Duke the devil in haha jared McCain last season ok 1 passes basketball 🏀 technical free throw lower hip follow through middle of hole at rim ok inbound the ball from last season beep..
Ok due to last season in college hoops division 1 men's college hoops lol viewer opinion is advised... Jared Mccain: Run the floor vs Charlotte 49ers mining the gold.. Now watch the lob from 15 feet out get the ball out of his hands , go behind the back cuts down turnovers Mccain likes to get after the ball jabstep but just to create space shoot the jumper ballhandler... Now Mccain is 6 foot 3 size mismatch go big post up left right look at restricted area get to the free throw line... And 1 meaning make the bucket and knock down the free throw lower hip follow through middle of hole at rim. Although lol analysis just ask Tony bennett.
It's a weird draft, but I think I kinda like these undersized guards (Sheppard, Carter, and McCain). Sheppard and Carter are probably top 5 guys in this class for me. McCain isn't there but I do like him quite a bit.
Bro will be a great fit at the 2 in Philly, honestly his shooting and solid defense can earn him a starting spot between Maxey and Oubre at the 2. PG13 at the 4
I mean, he'd probably be targeted quite a bit in the NBA just because of his physical attributed but I wouldn't say he's screwed. He's always been a smart defender even back in high school.
Likely a Huge defensive liability in the league due to his small size and wingspan. Hate to say that because I love him. I’d say the same for Reed Sheppard too.
@@razkable They are very very different players and Pritchard was so much more polished with an all around game when he was drafted yet he STILL barely gets minutes on a championship team. Because he’s not big enough, he simply can’t defend against NBA size. No matter how good of a shooter/passer he is he still can’t crack a consistent nightly rotation. This is my same exact worry with Reed Sheppard, who is also so so good. But realistically, they’re both probably defensive liabilities in the NBA
First time comparing a black player to a white player but he look like JJ to me idk if it’s the duke jersey or the way he come of screen into the shoot
Bad handle and playmaking to be a primary guard, too small for off ball 3D role. I think he will be stuck between positions and end as a rotation piece for some underwhelming team. Actually, he is a much smaller version of Sam Hauser which is not very appealing.
This guy is so hard to project, I don’t know how he fits in the nba, he’s not a wing and not a pg or play initiator. I like that he rebounds and I love his shot, high level skills but the athleticism is mid. I hope he turns into a great nba player, he is very young so that helps.

Jared McCain will be a safe pick for someone and can definitely help a team with his shooting.
I have so much confidence on this dude. Will probably have great success in the NBA
hes currently on that road rn
its so nice to see

Weird comp. McCollum was a midrange bucket, #1 option, but with more size and athleticism than McCain.
He was not a smaller off ball 3pt shooter.

McCain is an intriguing prospect, could be a good selection in the late first or late lottery.
miami need this guy
Need a player who can create separation, McCain plays like Tyler did in college
I just hate his height but I’ll take it.
I see a lot of similarities to Malcom Brogdon in the way his game looks. Prettier shot than Malcom though.

Doesnt have Brogdens size o4 passing which is a big part of his effectiveness but is a more pure wired scorer.
As a Sixers fan I was deadass thinking Seth curry to lmao
Kel’el Ware if you can. Thanks!
He reminds me of Tyler Herro. Gonna be a high impact guy off of a great teams bench

Any chance you could get a Daron Holmes breakdown in before the draft? Love the vids dude keep it up
Did you prefer McCain or Sasser coming out as undersized off ball guard who can shoot the leather off it?
I think he's going to be one of the best players in this draft. I'd draft him at pick 3 if I were the Rockets and I couldn't find a trade down partner
Bro will be a great fit at the 2 in Philly, honestly his shooting and solid defense can earn him a starting spot between Maxey and Oubre at the 2. PG13 at the 4
Waiting for this one
i think he's maxey without the insane burst/speed, which is a big part of maxey's game lol
crazy now that they'll get some run next to each other
This is a perfect pick for the magic. Hoping this is where he lands.
He reminds me of Jamal Murray
Only thing they got in common is they both lightskin😂
him and maxey with embiid down low on O/in transition after blocks is gon be such a problem
McCain to the 76ers
One of bros strengths is strength lol
I can see this kid 4 years from now being an all star and in 6 years a 3rd team all nba guard.....
I think a bit more burst than you gave him credit for, but nonetheless great breakdown
Does he have defensive potential or is he just screwed?
