0:24 Gotta love that doppler effect from the Coaster cab car. 👌 5:15 I don't think I've ever seen a Metrolink train that long. Sweet mercy. 10:14 You really made the shot through the fence work well. Nicely done. 10:32 Wild to get the two in one shot flying through the station like that. Love it.
Very nice video! Some of those paint schemes are really sharp. I have the opportunity to watch the ACE train up close every day in Fremont. I never get tired of it. However...the ACE train goes over the Altamont Pass just east of Livermore (hence the name Altamont Corridor Express). The tracks run along Altamont Pass Rd. for a short time. Not only are they very close to the road but are elevated 10-12 feet. One time I did catch the ACE train while biking at that point. Not only could you feel the rumble but actually see under the train cars. Just a cool experience. Thanks for posting the video!
The Chargers and F125s are nice, but I still miss the F59PHIs which ruled Californian railroads. Their shrill horns were very nice and were very iconic. We have 5 of them here in Vancouver, but because of the Transport Canada restrictions, the K5LAs were replaced by the K5CAs, which sound good, but not AS pleasant as what they used to.
Great videos. Seeing trains like at 1:22 I wonder how this can be a good commuter train, with the cars having only 1 door per side. Thats not very efficient to move loads of commuters, right? Our commmuter trains are EMUs with 12 doors per unit / 3 doors per car
Yup. These cars are really old and really inefficient. They are hated by commuters and employees lol. That railroad is getting brand new futuristic EMUs this summer with very spacious and nice interiors with 4 doors a car. You can see the electrical catenary above the tracks in preparation for the new trains. Thanks for watching!
@@surfliner456 Ah I see, thank you for the information. Do you know that Caltrain (commuter train of San Francisco CA) has some of Metrolink's Bombardier coaches on their trains, purchased from Metrolink commuter trains of Los Angeles CA since 2015. Coaches 164, 165, 167, 169, 170-173, and 175-182 are the ex-Metrolink Bombardier coach units now running on Caltrain. They still have the original periwinkle blue streaks livery from Metrolink, but now have the Caltrain logos on the spot of the old Metrolink logos.
that switch right before the commerce city station seems unsafe for that track speed. both Amtrak and metrolink coming through there at 75+ mph. seems like they could benefit from a slight adjustment there. Great video!
@@surfliner456 I'm surprised that they recover their operating costs with only 4 coaches. Unless there is a higher subsidy model vs what we have up north in the great white.

Make US rail transport great again! It has so much potential to become a rail-based nation. I believe rail travel will be back on track. :)
