882 was my childhood locomotive when i was only 5 years old i remember riding 882 and being very excited as a young kid im now 17 and seeing 882 in this video doing its last ever trips makes me tear up
I went on a ride on one similar to that one to Austin. From downtown San Antonio to the capital. I went with one of my favorite teachers and his class. So did my mom. I loved it. It was really fun. And my first time going. Man it is beautiful. Austin.
To put it all together, BNSF 5649 was in the back of Metrolink 887, BNSF 5617 was in the back of Metrolink 876, BNSF 3929 was following Metrolink 884, Metrolinks 878 and 560 passed each other, the previous Metrolink; 887 won a race with BNSF 7932 which was slow, and so on
One of these old Metrolink F59 locomotives should really be donated to the Southern California Railway Museum in Perris California some time, don't you think? Since they will never be used ever again
As of now, only 5 F59PHs are still in service which are 852, 856, 861, 868, and 873. Soon, Metrolink will bring back 851, 870, and few F59PHis as Tier 4 engines
