Oven Door Spring Loaded Hinge Fix

This video explains symptoms of weak or broken spring loaded door hinges resulting in a door that does not shut fully. That condition results in leakage and inconsistent oven temperatures as well as long warm up times. Spring loaded hinges are not costly or difficult to replace but there are a few tricks that make the job easier.

Yooooo. What if the lock on the spring on the door comes unlocked while the door off? You got a trick to pull lever and put the lock back in place or get it back on?

Much force will be required period probably a set of pliers in combination with a bench vice to hold the hinge

I took my glass apart and when I did the springs fell out . Any clue how to get them back attached to hinge . Or would you have to replace . Nothing looks broke just spings fell off so door isn't closing at all. 😒

yikes... try to find online photos of how the springs connect. I did not have that issue.

reset the springs. It takes 30 seconds and anyone can do it.
