Hi Mark. I've looked at lots of videos on how to repair the springs but yours is by far the easiest and clearest to follow. Thanks to your instructions I've replaced 4 door handle springs. Thank you!!
Thanks so much for the vid, I tried it today and my handles are all fixed now, saved alot of money and saved me from having to buy all new handles as the handles I have are discontinued, only struggle was the getting the circlip off but I eventually managed to get the hang of the circlip pliers and how they work and I got them all off in a breeze. Many thanks once again for the educational well constructed video.
Great stuff thanks. After 24 years living here I had this problem for the first time. What a carry on. Video was really helpful. Had to borrow the circlip pliers and you really can't do it without them.
Thank you. Great fix it video! Worth mentioning... watch out for metal powder black residue collected at bottom of inner plate and actual handle hole! Makes a mess!
Hi Mark Thank you so much for showing your viewers this awesome video. I definitely need that tool to be able to fix the interior springs of a lock at my job. :)
Thank you. Hubby says non repairable really, I'll do it while he's out. Will get the clips first, hoping they're at Bunnings NZ. thanks. too easy I hope.
Thanks for a useful description and solution to a common problem that other videos don't seem to cover. It would be better still, and more educational, if it used the terms used in the voice over were EXACTLY the ones needed when buying a part to be replaced. If you have the time, this video is worth re-shooting for better focus on the bits that matter. Also it might be good to recommend lithium grease for the lubrication as you reassemble it (I think that is the right grease!). Also please mention how easy it is for the circlip to spring off the pliers and get lost - it is best to do this job somewhere where the circlip, if it springs off, has a chance of being found!
thanks for the tutorial on this, I just bought possibly the same clips off of ebay for a fiver. I'll watch your video again to get it repaired once they arrive. thanks.
I don't even have these type handles but watched to see how to properly repair it. Great vid that was well explained with awesome camera work. Thanks bro!
Excellant video, many thanks for sharing. Just a question if I may, with so many people selling these on ebay and amazon its difficult to know which quality of spring brands to go for and which ones are less effective. Is there any particular brand or provider from your experience the springs are quality ones that will last a good time?

My handle has no circlip - only a steel washer with notches to limit the handle movement. This seems to have been put on and held solid by friction. Trying to lever up this steel washer bends it. How do i get this off?
It could be the way its manufacturerd ,pressed on in a factory, if there is a groove where the washer is maybe lever the washer off and replace with a circlip and washer if you can. If you have some tin snips and strong pliers keep bending the washer to bend it off

Hi Mark, i've a door where the latch within the door has broken. the hole in the latch that the spindle passes through has broken, when you pull out the spindle the hole just collapses so there is no long a rectangular hole. Not sure how to get the door open to replace the latch. Any suggestions aside from kicking in the door??
Hi there ,that is a tricky one i have been racking my brains, so if its on the side where the door shuts slid a metal ruler in between the door and the catch. If its the other side where the doorstop strip of wood is ,if you haveva multi sonicrafter you could carefully cut out a 6 inch strip where the door catch is,take that off and then slide abmetal ruler between the door and the catch. If you haven't got a sonicrafter tool use a large chisel instead,i hope that helps
@@markrocketmangrimstead thanks for the prompt reply. I managed to clear out the broken bits and with a needle nose pliers managed to pull a little lip of the latch back, door is open now and latch replaced
