      A screen that covers the entire roof so you can lay down and watch tv as you eat buttered up popcorn fresh out the compartment they built into the engine 🔥

    Under rated car. Spent some time with my Explorer ST at the ST SUV experience in Asheville and these Edge STs were consistently setting faster autocross times than any of the Explorer STs.

    • @VanquishedAgain
      @VanquishedAgain ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think they're easier to drive but the instructors in an Explorer ST set a faster time than any of us did in our Edge STs lol. We have much stiffer suspension (with the 21 inch wheels) vs the explorer ST so I think that's why we were setting better times vs the explorer owners. But again the instructor set a better time in his explorer ST, would have been interesting to see him do it in the Edge ST and see what kind of time he got

    Thank you! Today I bought a 2021 Edge ST. Decision was based on this video review alone. I always wanted a performance vehicle and this Edge ST does not disappoint especially at the price point. Of course I bought the most loaded, every option available model. Was very difficult to find however in NE Ohio. Cheers and Thank you for your reviews.

    Love the Edge ST…hate the big ugly screen! Hate that there are no physical buttons for heat & air conditioning. I own a 2018 Ford Edge Sport with this engine rated at 315 HP it’s an excellent engine! Has 18,000 miles on it and it’s been an absolute pleasure to own/drive. The Edge will surprise you in all aspects of a vehicle…no matter what you consider great. The Edge Nails it!! #SimplyTheBest

    3:28 DO NOT let your dealership install the front license plate bracket. If you want one, which you may not, install it yourself. I hate that they drill holes that are expensive to repair and are rarely even centered like this one is too far towards the driver's side. Huge pet peeve of mine!

    I believe what makes the 2021 Edge ST different from the 2020 is Ford actually made a 7 speed transmission from the 8 speed from last year. They actually deactivated one of the gears making it a 7 speed! This was their answer to all the complaints of the crappy 8 speed auto from the 2020 ST. How did this drive differently?

    Looking at a 2023 Edge ST in the same color. This will mark the 4th Edge for me (2008, 2011, 2018) and I am not happy that Ford is killing off this vehicle. They are the most reliable vehicles I have ever owned (even more than the Nissans I had in the past).

    Love the large screen - it was a major pull for me, since it took so long for me to get over their exterior redesign (I also had a 2011 Ford Edge and loved that exterior design). Now I've warmed up to the newer exterior, but that large vertical screen in the middle. I do agree that I wish some of their screens took up the entire screen instead of just half, and hoping they can update that with tech software

    Hey Joe, I love this car! I'm a really big car enthusiast! I do like the vertical screen, I'm just not a fan of how the ac and heat are not actual buttons, but I could live with that. The thing though that I need on this car is ventilated seats, at $45,000 I need ventilated seats. My mom has a 2017 Ford Edge SEL and she loves it! I wouldn't mind having one of these though. I'm only 15 so I can't really buy a car right now but this car is one of my top 5!

Why wouldn’t they just attach it to the center console cover like other car manufacturers do? That just makes me want to throw it away. I don’t wanna have to open the center console and have to move a lid every time I need to get in there

    The 2021 Edge ST has only 7 gears available from the 8 speed transaxle. Yes, that’s right, it’s an 8 speed that they tuned a gear out of. The 2-3 shift was a useless 200 rpm shift so they electronically removed 2nd gear! It’s still in the case, just not using it. The transaxle is the one thing I despise about my 2019. It sounds like they’ve improved the “manual” shifting because mine waits a couple of seconds every time I hit the paddle.

      Just my guess, but I think if they just refreshed the interior, it's probably gonna last at least a couple of years more. This was based off the last Fusion, and there is a new Fusion overseas, there has been word of a bigger Focus wagon/cuv for the Chinese market, maybe that could come over as a Edge replacement in a few years. Edit, I think there was news that the current plant that makes these will have a future electric vehicle made there, so that might be a replacement in a few years.

    I got to say that the 10K price jump might not be worth it. It is lacking as you mention and at that 45K price point might as well get the Explorer or get a used 2020 ST Edge. The price drops dramatically for a slightly used SEL/ST

    Engine cover is missing as well as the hood inside lining same thing with the Bronco, they omitted these just because Ford couldn't get the part because of shortage of material, that's the serious rumor from different sources.

    Not too shabby. Like a v6 in these kind of vehicles. Prefer an Explorer for the price.

    We never got the Ford Edge ST in Europe, but we got the Edge ST-Line diesel which made 235 horsepower.
    Ford axed the Edge in Europe. But I’d prefer the BMW X3 M40d.

      All Ford had to do was put a decent petrol engine on the UK/EU Edge, and drop the diesel to keep the sales steady. It stopped selling as everyone was in an anti-diesel mood. I test drove one in UK and it was great, but over £45k for dual turbo diesel was never going to win, post VW scandal. Now its EU emissions stopping the good performance vehicles from being released, no MK4 RS etc.

      @@Mogsy28uk I really hate these new emission laws.
      Ford could have overcomed that issue by making a PHEV version of the Focus RS (similar technology used in the Volvo S60 Polestar), but sadly not, cos the problem here is cost.

    • @Mogsy28uk
      @Mogsy28uk 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DaveDVideoMaker exactly, engineer a solution, i mean VW group still manage to do their R series or RS Audi, and they are way more emissions out of them...guess its the numbers sold and emission credits by selling electric models. Real shame.

    I currently own a Livernois tuned 2016 Edge Sport and I absolutely LOVE it. But if I would have to replace my Edge right now, I would NOT go for an Edge ST for a LOT of reasons. Gauge cluster dating from 20 years ago (please give the Edge ST the the Mustang or the Lincoln Nautilus awesome 12 inches digital display), missing physical climate controls, interior almost exactly the same as the 2015 Edge and lot of other things are dated. But I think the the most important missing thing is the 3.0 Ecoboost engine and drivetrain , the same ones that are currently used in the Explorer ST. This would make the Edge ST really worthy of the ST badge and would make it a real challenger for german competition sporting a LOT more horsepower. Give the next Edge ST those features, I'll be the first inline to replace my Edge with a new ST.

    Of all midsize unibody SUVs only two have seen their sales drop compared to the first half of last year when the pandemic took hold. One is the Subaru Ascent where sales have declined from 37K to 33K. Hardly encouraging but not disastrous. The other is the Edge where sales have dropped from 60K to 42K. The ST, of course, make up only a small fraction of those sales. Ouch! No surprise that the Edge won't be continued after the 2022 model year.
