    This is great, and a really comprehensive overview of Avistani Dwarves. And I love the new intro.
    It would be worth noting, though, that the Garundi Dwarves evolved very different cultures. For example, the dwarves of Dongun Hold who, due to their proximity to the Mana Wastes, developed gunpowder; or the Mbe'ke Dwarves, who are are for the most part, clean-shaven, with no beards at all (so the whole thing about beards and honour don't apply). For anyone who is wondering, this is also why there is a Dwarf with no beard in the montage at the start of the video :)

      Very true, and I'll be doing a followup video on the Garundi dwarves, I just haven't gotten the mwangi book yet so I couldn't fit them in just yet :)

      I couldn't pass up using that amazing dwarf and cloud dragon art I've been seeing!

      @@SirVertigo Not having the Mwangi book would indeed be a hinderance to a deep dive into Mwangi Lore! And the attention to detail in your videos is excellent, so I'm very happy to wait until they can be done justice. And it is one of the most gorgeous pieces of art in the book, and that's saying something, what with the art quality throughout.

      @@davidsims9073 Yea, I was tempted to do a section on them, but I want to do a full video, even if it's only half the length of this one as soon as I can get some of the newer source Books.

    Pathfinder has my favorite goblins, and my favorote dwarves. I love the twist that dwarves dont want to dig deeper into the earth, but build high into the sky.

    Great video! Bonus factoid for you, Droskar is the Duergar (deep dwarf) god of toil and dominance. A god of eventuality, who's artitude is "failure means you arent trying hard enough". Sometimes failed dwarven smiths will worship him in hopes that practice will overcome a lack of talent.

    From what I heard, the dwarf/orc conflict started when dwarves forced orcs out of their homeland and into a demon who corrupted a bunch of them.

    Then there's Harrim, who is constantly depressed and goes against almost all dwarven traditions save for his beard.

    Decided to start pathfinder after not enjoying 5th edtion. I started in 3rd dnd, left at 4th, came back in early 5th and left. Nowdays I play lot of game systems, from OWod, fading suns, mutants and masterminds. None scratch that dnd ich. Knowing nothing about the pathfinder setting so enjoy your videos.

    This is really cool. I didn't see any on your channel, but do you have any videos for the greater Deities? Specifically I would be interested in Sarenrae. If not, I think that would be an interesting series.

    • @SirVertigo
      @SirVertigo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I am starting the Deities this next video actually, but I am starting with Norgorber, the god of assassins as a favor to my edgelord of a wife :) After that, I'll move Sarenrae up, shes a suitably powerful god to do a video on soon!

    so could you expect a duel to the death if you were to say cut a dwarf in you party's beard? and if so is their any way to talk them out of it. asking for a friend

    • @SirVertigo
      @SirVertigo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, you've destined your (friends) dwarf to be seen as a criminal amongst his people, so yea, if say he'd be pretty angry! Have you tried any hair growing tonics?

    how far underground were they that it took them 300 years to get to the surface?

    • @SirVertigo
      @SirVertigo  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, the darklands are not a straight tunnel to the surface, they twist and turn, and double back and snake to the surface. So, not only was it a long trek, but they were having to fight the or a for every inch of tunnel to the surface.
      Between the back and forth gaining and loss of land, it took quite a while!

    What do RPGs have against shaven dwarf men and bearded dwarf women?

  • @InternetSupervillain
    @InternetSupervillain 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Pathfinder dwarf women don't have beards. Why keep showing the Tolkien bearded dwarf woman?

    • @SirVertigo
      @SirVertigo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I may be mistaken, but I only used one female dwarf with a beard, and it's actually a dwarf from the lost omens character guide, pg 18, so it actually is a pathfinder dwarf, not LOTR lol
