- Will it run? This a 1948 Chevy 5 Window 1-1/2 Ton farm truck. The tag on the license plate says '95. So, it probably hasn't ran in about 30 years. Let's see if we can get the straight six engine in this classic Chevrolet to run.

Your videos, comments to your viewers and your sense of humor make your videos the best I have seen. Thank you.
I appreciate that. I really do. Thank you for watching. It's good to have you here.
My heart goes thumpity thump seeing an old truck like that come back to life! Great job! Thanks for not editing out your miscues, humor makes it so life like! It's like watching myself work on one! Thank you for sharing this with us!
Glad you enjoyed it. I have another channel called Freeman's Garage Extra. Here's a video from that channel where me & my dad take his '48 2 ton out on the road. th-cam.com/video/INBiUUBJFL0/w-d-xo.html
I used to work for my grandparents in the summer. They were wheat farmers and ranchers. My uncles got to drive the newer 70s trucks, but us grandkids got the the older 40s trucks. I got the green 48 with the 2 speed rear end with a manual lever switch on the dash to use it. Had a lot of good memories in that old truck. It’s still on the farm but it’s relegated to yard art status now. Great trucks in their day. Every farm had at least 2 of these old trucks on the farm as water trucks, hay trucks or grain trucks. Seeing them are pure American nostalgia. Hope you get it going again.
I love hearing stories like that. Thank you for sharing it. Getting it going again is the plan.
What a blessing.
Summer rain sure beats that winter snow.
It sure does. That was brutal.
Don't dis the snow man! It keeps those west coasters in their place 😀

Agreed!
WE BOUGHT A 48 3100 SERIES 216 - 4 - SPEED IN 1973 FOR 250.00 RUNNING , THE STEERING WHEEL HAD A FULL CHROME HORN RING , I HAVE NEVER SAW ANOTHER IN THOSE YEARS THAT HAD ONE !!! IT SMOKED UNDER HARD LOAD , IT SCOOTED AROUND TOWN PRETTY GOOD THOUGH !!!
That's neat. Stories like that are always fun to hear. Thanks for sharing it.
Looks great. Good basis for restoration.
Thanks. I agree.
