i know it must suck to live in the depression era and never get to buy anything new...but most channels just swap parts and you dont really learn anything from it,with your channel i actually get to see how stuff looks on the inside and how they work.

@@theetravisbthis is why I keep coming back too. Learned so much in the past few months I’d never seen explained on any other channels or even tv shows. Found you searching 1960 paint/patina preservation as I purchased a 60 Comet in October and think I’ve seen just about every video of yours since. Keep up the great work and I’ll share more of my car in spring as I take it to cruise ins and fix little things along the way. 🤠

Good job on the brakes on the '48! My Dad showed me how to hone brake cylinders without a hone... back in the day, you would get a good straight stick (like a dowel) and split one end, then put a piece of folded emery cloth in the split so that each side was even with the other. A rubber band was used to hold the split together, and some penetrating oil or brake fluid was used as a lubricant. Put the dowel into a drill motor (which looked just like the one in the picture on the Lisle hone) and use it to hone out the cylinder in question! It seemed as though we never had the specialty tools that made these jobs easier, but with a little ingenuity, we got by...

I am working on a 1948 Chevy 5 window heavy truck short wheel base I started with my dad when I was 38 he got sick and passed when I was forty.that old truck just sat around I am 60 now and me and the grandson he is 11 are going through it . Swapped out the 1962 full pressure motor for a original 235 from 1948 when got it running and got a working clutch and about to tackle the brakes

Hi Travis, awesome work! I learned again something new from you about car repair! You are a car mechanic, aren’t you? 😊

i appreciate VERY MUCH that your videos are 45min - 1h or longer. Probably not as popularity-gaining as some 5-10 min length videos, but that's not the case I think. Personally I like very much to see everything in detail and to listen to some thoughts you have during the work. It's great to watch a longer video to see everything as it is, especially in the times of "some short-length-form culture" or something like that. So thank you for that. Looking forward to the engine video, and the POV view is great, that was a good idea

and reusing everything you can is also a great concept, especially when as we all know, new parts are sometimes far worse quality than the original ones. I'm after a brake job in my Skoda, and I've chosen to restore a master cylinder with an original NOS repair kit for that reason - saving money by the way

Glad you enjoy! Yeah short form content is popular for sure. Shortens attention spans. But plenty of people like you who enjoy this kind of thing love watching the longer stuff if it can provide value the whole way through

You did get caught at home with your mistress, but in the garage and she is much older than you, needs love and keeps you out of trouble (apart from some missing skin and having to get up for cotter pins and the like). Great video, thank you
