yes I liked the efforts of TVS from sport oriented Apache to mix of commuter-cruiser-caferacer they have taken a bold step. with your in-depth analysis of city riding we will know better about its fitting into normal people's life . # more torque is always a welcome. # comfortable riding is always welcome.
That's excatly what I said when I saw it the first time ..the tank's front looks weird to me .. it look like an old pulser with round headlights And I didn't liked the base variant's plane colours .. may b it's just me I didn't liked the design as much as I wanted to Also it looks like a retro modern bike .. so a little less features with less price range and more power wud have been better.. xpulse for me is still a better option as of now
To be honest the design actually looks very odd to me. It like a mixture of Bajaj Vikrant, lower price hero bike, cum Tvs Splendor etc, and some more. Design features are placed everywhere. It doesn't have its own distinct design considering it a new model targeting certain Niche market segment. Sad the TVs had fantastic opportunity to churn out a fantastic looking retro street bike with this one. In my opinion the overall design is a fail, except the headlamp, front fork and tire side which is good. Not sure about the performance features tho.
I honestly think Yam team didn't focus on looks, they created a hybrid of modern &' retros.. moreover fzx is quite comfortable to ride, and I usually don't care about looks. My previous bike was Honda CB trigger and imo it was the most complete bike on Indian roads, Indian people were not mature enough to see it for it's abilities, they just didn't like how it looked and casted it out.
Definitely TVS have tried to bring in a bike that looks different in this segment and price range. Appreciation for TVS on this front!!!Guess its better suited for daily commute and occasional short distance touring.
I think tvs has nailed it this time, they reworked the same apache engine...and gave it a neo retro look, its a usable machine, hands down tvs knows how to make a machine, same case in apache, 6 gear was always the issue, looks a bit odd at the back, bust front is just too good.....the silencer is also an eye sore, ......but still i would buy it......all rounder machine....
Got this bike a month ago. Base variant, on road price is 1.83 lac in Pune. Getting a mileage of around 35-36 kmpl. Extremely comfortable ride, Zero complaints. No heating, no issues whatsoever
Great review! The rear does look awkward however I like that TVS is not emulating Bajaj or Honda and is trying to create a new segment in India. I feel it has the vibes of R9T in the color scheme...
@Senshu fzx constantly returns milage between 57 to 64. Got highest milage of 67.5 till now. Excellent riding position. One can ride hours on it. Low nvh too
@@solo__984 xsr can not give the economy of FZX. Plus for the budget conscious it will be expensive. May be it is the price that prompted yamaha to make FZX. Sooner or later the XSR will also get introduced with mt15 engine
As said by Varun Sir...if it is a good handling motorcycle!!! It will be a really nice City Bike!!! And if doesn't fit into any specific genre...need to trials of it in different situations !!!(Bad roads, soft roads,Turmac) 20BHP for a small sized motorcycle!!!!Woww!!! Waiting to get test ride of it!!!
It's good that TVS has given dual channel abs as an option. I miss that in 160 4v. Would opt for this if I haven't bought my rtr a yr ago. Anyway looks cool for me.
I am also skeptical about the styling... Also, there is a huge difference of seeing a bike in person than on a 6.5inch screen.. elements I didn't like are tyre fenders(especially the rear), knobby(?) tyres, grab handle, and instrument cluster...
Done a very brief TD today and my observations are as below 1. Look wise a very awkward / strange feeling, lower part looks big, substantial, but upper part looks small, beefed up Splendor 2. Side panel area looks horrible, feels the gap between side panel & seat is filled with some broken plastic 3. Seat is soft, good, but squeeze near tank, something unusual 4. Transmission is very good, but gear misses some time, needs to be careful while changing
I was thinking the same, but I reimagined this bike without rear fennder,. it would look disproportionate even without that fender. just check image and imagine.
I think if you're in a market, and you ended up confirming your decision to buy Yamaha FZX ,just don't ! Go for this TVS Ronin . And for those who are looking forward to buy Meteor, CB350RS , Yezdi whatever just buy them. And finally, for those who did like TVS Ronin just take a test ride before putting your deposit . Happy Ride !
I recently bought this bike (orange) after spending 2 years with an Xpulse. I personally like how the bike looks. It somehow comes together as a handsome but capable bike. I love how smooth and easy this bike is. Once the bike is warmed up the exhaust sound becomes 🤌🤌 I gotta say i fell in love with "motorcycling" since I've got this. I just hope TVS gets the accessories asap.
For me honestly this bike is a confusion from the first day. And when I was expecting Zeppelin, this design language shut all my fantasies of the bike.
I am heads up with you bro.. my dreams are shattered which were building up since 2019 Expo of Zeppelin R. I have only and only upgraded with the Apache 3 times but i was going to switch from Apache to the most awaited Cruiser called "Zeppelin R..
On the build quality, reliability, performance and ergonomics fronts - absolutely no worries I'm sure. Tvs always does a stellar job there especially considering how affordable their products are. But design wise, this particular bike looks a bit confused. It's a tiny version of the R nineT mixed in with a small "cruiser" like avenger. IDK. They are probably targeting entry level touring aspirants.
I wish, if they had gone with the floating tyre hugger with number plate feasibility on it and had gotten away the rear fender all together with the tail tidy look!! Because in contrast with the rear, the front is very promising as it is.

Offset instrument cluster looks great for me!! It would have been looked like an old style motorcycle, if that instrument cluster placed in the middle!!
The things I like about this motorcycle 1. The overall look in general. 2. The Price and value this machine offers. 3. All LED lighting. 4. Slip n assist clutch with adjustavle levers. 5. Comfortable riding. 6. Moms will be happy with this bike coz the pillion seat is nice and flat. The things I don't like 1. As Shumi pointed out, the tank shape. It should've been flat on the top instead of the sportier curved tank. 2. The T shaped LED DRL looks meh. Some may like it. Nothing wrong with it though. 3. The Instrument console doesn't look good. A better console would've done much better in terms of aesthetics and function. 4. The windshield looks ok-ish. Some may like it. 5. The chain and sprocket at the rear are completely covered with the huge plastic/fibre sheets or plates (whatever) spoiling the look of the machine. 6. The rear LED tail light is too thin to be clearly visible (my opinion). 7. They could've gone for a 140 section rear tyre, which would enhance the look. Overall, am satisfied with what the bike offers for the price, but a few things would've made it a near perfect motorcycle.
N250 is a naked sports bike and is quicker and faster. This one is more relaxed, makes max torque quickly and rather aims at RE at a lower price, weight, better fit n finish and more features.
Comfort, practicality, usability etc.. all are important, Yes! But Aesthetics, imo, is also nearly as important. Especially for people who see motorcycles as more than just a tool for commuting. So that makes Ronin not that much of a desirable motorcycle, atleast for me..
It does look very good. I have Electra 350. Was looking for a bike with smaller engine but same performance. It does fit my requirements but the price is on higher side
This bike matches my aspirations to own a lower capacity touring bike with lower and flatter seat, comfortable ergonomics, decent mileage, lower maintenance cost ,high ground clearance, led lights, lower weight and good sitting geometry for fatigue free occasional rides for maximum of 250 kms/ day. I wish to enjoy riding without much gear changes with pillion and I suppose Ronin would match up to my requirements including many who wish to own a bike without any tags like ADV,,Roadster, Scrambler..
how is the seat space for pillon and comfort as well? I feel like the seat lenght is less. I just hope some one gives review with a pillon as well soon. No one gives them nowadays.
I personally like the paint scheme and the looks of the bike except the tail light...it looks like a mod rather than a thought out design choice. Offset cluster looks awesome as I am a fan of yamaha MT 09, MT 10 and BMW winking headlights.....the bike does appear small though. Also, I like to cruise rather than rev, so a much relaxed posture to enjoy the view, the wind and the mood is right up my alley...but wouldn't mind a drag race between signals 😅
We Indians waited for Yamaha XSR for what feels like ages now, along comes TVS and surprised us all with the Ronin. The bike looks good & if i had the money I would definitely buy this instead of Yamaha FZX

How different views we have, for me this is best bike to own for its overall engineering. But looks disappointed me. probably zaplin design i was waiting for.
@@niranjankedambadi Just the front light and Back fender design from zeplin could have made huge difference, All i am saying is that this bike gets full marks from our mind but not convincing the heart.
Don't like the looks but love the price. My question is can Ronin stand up to Bajaj 220 cruisers? Appreciate your endeavour regarding testing the bike even in the monsoon. Keep going.
Great review as always! I am confused between Ronin and New Gen Classic 350. There is a price difference of about 65-70k onroad, irrespective of that... Pls advise which would be a better pick as a long term keeper?
@Senshu Yea exactly 3 i was counting too, 1. Rear fender 2. Tank the way it connects to front section something is unusual 3. light if zeplin style lights they could provide.
Lower end models should have come equipped with dual channel ABS, increase in 3-4k won't have bothered that much Design is weird but it looks good in black color(No dual channel ABS 😐)
I intend to buy 1 from either of these two. But am confused, my requirements are not just city use as I live far away from city. I need something for highway cruising, I am talking about approx 100-150 kms of highway ride, & city ride of approx 50-60 per travel, & not to forget wet, bad road conditions too.... Which one should I go for, Hunter 350 or Ronin !?
I always wanted hero to use Karizma 223 engine to create a good looking cruiser and Tvs has done exactly what I wanted to hero to do. This is an amazing bike
Let's appreciate the concept design and price this bike has been launched at instead of just showing the negative side of the bike. It will be revolutionary bike in future.
they started with zepplin cruiser and mid way realised scramblers are new trend.. so they made a scram... kept the golden usd chain cover and even placed small silver plate where e boost used to sit.. I think it looks better with single tone.. top line reminds me of cd 100
The Ronin is an attempt to make a cross between scrambler and a cruiser. The tank shape is not good, the proportions are not that great, as said in the video. Looks wise, 3 stars out of 5.
Rear seat is big in terms of height that is stopping it from looking a scrambler, and rear mudguard is odd shaped, should have been simply curved or box shaped..
Looks fine to me. May be it looks better in video/photos, not so much in person. My grudge with TVS.. the bikes are small for a six footer. At least release one bike in a size like the Karizma or Himalayan for instance. Ronin could have been that one. :(
I think they've nailed the design.. it's an Indian made motorcycle by an Indian company TVS.. i understand it's not for everyone but a cool looking motorcycle at this price range? I'm down for it.
Ronin looks great except the rear grab rails. The fuel tank looks nice and muscular too. The tail lamps could be a little better. Except these, overall a great bike look wise.

Looks small & the positioning of the instrument cluster is so odd. Otherwise a pretty good motorcycle I presume.
Solid red color was good
I think it is totally subjective, since PD has knowledge of high end bikes they are rude on this boy 😂For beginner me it is cool.
I think if I have to change in this, I'll make fuel tank little bulky muscular look & rear grab handle grip
It might be short of many things... Looks isn't one of them! It is beautiful 👍
How different views we have, for me this is best bike to own for its overall engineering. But looks disappointed me. probably zaplin design i was waiting for.
@@AbAb-nx2zy Zeppelin was too over-designed according to me.. Yes, people have different tastes 👍
@@niranjankedambadi Just the front light and Back fender design from zeplin could have made huge difference, All i am saying is that this bike gets full marks from our mind but not convincing the heart.
coming up, how to swap 150 rtr cylinder and head from 223 ronnin.
Ronin 225, Enfield Classic is not agile bike
This could have been a beautiful bike, just 3-4 adjustments would have gone a long way imo.
@Senshu Yea exactly 3 i was counting too, 1. Rear fender 2. Tank the way it connects to front section something is unusual 3. light if zeplin style lights they could provide.
i agree
I got a TVS 200, almost similarly 20 bhp 2017 model, does it make sense to buy thu@ 🙌🤔?
So fz 25 or Ronin , sumi which one to pick
Lower end models should have come equipped with dual channel ABS, increase in 3-4k won't have bothered that much
Design is weird but it looks good in black color(No dual channel ABS 😐)
It has dual c
@@sahilnaik7262 only black color is not available in top end and only top end has dual c
PD reviews are always fun and entertaining to watch.....well quite a combination to love PD contents....
Would have been a lot better if Shumi had done the complete review ... There are only very few people who can match his biking prowess
We need the Samurai now... with 310-321cc??
What about the media reviews of simple one ?
I definitely love the design!! I know it's not perfect, but sweet pricing by TVs
Which one should I go for,
Hunter 350 or Ronin !?
ronin
Do you guys plan on reviewing the bs6 cb300r?
I always wanted hero to use Karizma 223 engine to create a good looking cruiser and Tvs has done exactly what I wanted to hero to do. This is an amazing bike
Let's appreciate the concept design and price this bike has been launched at instead of just showing the negative side of the bike. It will be revolutionary bike in future.
@shu_mar sir it's me @beingsuvokhan
Just here to see the review of this bike and boom i saw the legend.... Take love and blessings sir❤️
I think the FZX designer after fired from Yamaha got appointed in TVS ronin design team
they started with zepplin cruiser and mid way realised scramblers are new trend.. so they made a scram... kept the golden usd chain cover and even placed small silver plate where e boost used to sit..
I think it looks better with single tone.. top line reminds me of cd 100
If you hide the front and the back, the central area including the tank and seat, looks like that of a splendor.
Is the rear end derived from the TVS Luna????? Seriously, what were they thinking?
This review is totaly against ronin ! Am not happy ! I personally test drove it and am impressed with it !
So detailed review.
I wish Yezdi Scrambler got one.
But they went pretty harsh on that sweet bike.
The best review...the way you present...🖤🔥
🙏🏼
The Ronin is an attempt to make a cross between scrambler and a cruiser. The tank shape is not good, the proportions are not that great, as said in the video. Looks wise, 3 stars out of 5.
Fz 25 also need updation on usd forks, and gud meter displays
Rear seat is big in terms of height that is stopping it from looking a scrambler, and rear mudguard is odd shaped, should have been simply curved or box shaped..
Looks fine to me. May be it looks better in video/photos, not so much in person.
My grudge with TVS.. the bikes are small for a six footer. At least release one bike in a size like the Karizma or Himalayan for instance. Ronin could have been that one.
:(
Every new retro looking motorcycle is expected to beat the RE .. Still RE stands firmly .This is one much appealing
how are they able to use showas on a sub 2 lakh motorcycle?
I think they've nailed the design.. it's an Indian made motorcycle by an Indian company TVS.. i understand it's not for everyone but a cool looking motorcycle at this price range? I'm down for it.
Ronin looks great except the rear grab rails. The fuel tank looks nice and muscular too. The tail lamps could be a little better. Except these, overall a great bike look wise.
