own a ronin for more than a month now, the bike is easy and comfortable to ride in city and features do help like the side stand engine cut off, slipper clutch is a relief, console is informative and sufficient, overall fit n finish is quality , i love the stance in which we sit no slouch or stretch, wanted a premium and comfortable city bike for commuting, and ronin answers it pretty well, regarding design it maybe a comprise for the enthusiast but outside youtube the design is something we can live with and sometimes even get praises :) and yeah loved the way vikrant explained in this no nonsense review

I have travelled good enough with Hunter also to understand the pros and cons.
Ronin has better seat comfort, better front and rear suspension, relaxed riding posture, slipper assist clutch( very big deal in traffic), better ground clearance, better tires for bad roads and also has better lower end torque.
These all features will definitely give u a much better riding experience.

RE too had a good note, but there is a minute crank noise along with the exhaust note.. which does say Engine is viby and will give trouble in longer run.

As another commenter mentioned here, TVS probably has some issues with logistics. The showrooms I visited said they were not taking bookings for Ronin presently, and that there's no idea about a timeline. Considering that, as well as that I didn't like how the Ronin looked and the difference b/w the variants, I went ahead and booked the Hunter. Despite its shortcomings, I have some sense of assurance about parts availability, engine goodwill, and servicing, as well as resale value. Had TVS put some thought into the design of the Ronin, the story would've been entirely different. That's the blunder right there. God, what could've been.......

I was keen on getting the Hunter. Looking forward to upgrading from a Hornet 2016. Loved how the Hunter handled the bad roads and some sharp corners in by lanes. Your video described the exact feelings I had for the Hunter in the best way possible!
Now I am curious to take a test run of the Ronin. I hope I don’t feel dazed and confused at the end of the day! Only thing holding me back from the ronin is the slightly smaller looking pillion seat. Being a larger than average guy, I don’t think I might leave much room for the pillion.

For my taste. I love to sit on a comfortable chair. Regarding the bikes, i have test ride both. The ronin is a sofa with proper posture for my legs and the hunter is a Little towards a hunting mood (hence), but how are you planning to hunt if a 350cc has lesser practical power than the 225 in term of top end speed limit. Youve seen the drag race again and again.
I want to go from point A to point B with a smile. I'm not in a hurry , i just want to be at peace. I had enough with R15; i thought I'll get use to it, how stupid was i. I'm not a racer or a wanna be. I'm the kind of guy who would enjoy a gentle breeze rather than the blast of wind while testing the limit and thrill of dying.
So no. I'll take my chances of the new square engine. If it breaks, let it be. Atleast i was on a sofa when that happen. And since im not planning to hunt im quite sure it the engine would survive a long run.
    Enough with the sofa? Ok!!!
If RE had given all those features on the hunter, how much would the price increase?
The suspension, the levers, the metallic mudguard, the Bluetooth connectivity, the lcd display with a different central display for text and stuff, the led headlight, the chain protection, the oil cooling, the tiles tyres, the soft gear shifting, the glide through tech, the exhaust tuning. Damn!!! Are we that blind to see that it's not the looks that count?
I know the design is over done in the Ronin. There is a sense of disconnection in every portion of the bike. But if we keep those measurements aside, the hunter has lesser competitive points to prove its superiority towards the Ronin.
All those features on a sofa. Trust me. Life is happier when it's comfortable.
