I have found building a Facebook Group from people who like your Facebook Page to be an effective strategy.
In this video I show you how to create a Facebook Ad Campaign that generates Page Likes, and then how you convert those page likes into Facebook Group Members.

Hi, I can see a Facebook Group being a great long term strategy for your business. It will take time though so don't expect it to be profitable after 30 days. I would still advertise your Page first as that's what I find works best, but you can always test both approaches.
We've tested this strategy and it works. You just need to be mindful of the cost from Page like -> Group member -> Conversion and how much that conversion is worth to you.

Hi Aimee, that's great to hear. Your cost per like will really vary depending on who you are targeting. In the digital marketing space for example a cost per like under £0.50 is decent when targeting expensive Western markets. In other locations and industries likes can cost less than a penny each.
You don't have to set up questions and I don't have any in my group. But I imagine the invited people would still need to answer them.

Ben! Great video my man! Do you have qualifying questions in your group? Whats the reasons for having them or not in your case? Helps you qualify your members? Or do you just leave those questions out for less friction on memberships?

We don't actually. I don't see much advantage to doing so in our case.
@@BenHeath That makes sense to not have them. Excluding them helps with the conversion process. Plus in my experience, I think people answer membership questions dishonetly. So whats the point. You can always strike up a conversion with people in the group via posts and DM's and nurture the relationship from there.

Facebook does change its interface quite often - usually all the same options are still available, it might just look a bit different.
Great video Ben. I see the sense to run a likes campaign to page first but as my page is relatively new and I only currently have 91 people, is there something else I should do before running a likes campaign?
Hi Andrew, I don't think so - I would go for it. More likes will make your page look more active as well.

Hi Ben, my old page got unpublished. I was in around 40 groups. Now that i created a new page i cannot join the groups anymore with the new page. Even with a new account! What is going on?
When I click invite people it is saying I can only invite people that have engaged within the last week. What can I do?
I've seen one downside of this that I hope you can help me overcome. I have this post with 1.3k likes that is not visible on my Business Page. I tried to share it to my page but the photo and the number of likes does not show on my page. Just a little grey square box with text.
I couldn't see a way of using a post on my Business page to include in a Pages likes campaign.
Have I missed something?
It sounds like you posted that on your personal profile? If that's the case you can share it to your page but you won't be able to publish it on your page and transfer the social proof. Going forward, I would recommend posting stuff on your Facebook Page.

How much does it typically cost to acquire a group member from a western country with this method?
The fb engagement in my group suddenly dropped after jumping to 5k quickly within 2-3 months. How can I fix the algorithm?
Hi Norval, that's not something I experienced with my Group and I've now gone past 30,000. But I would try to engage as much as possible and perhaps hold some live training or something live in there to try and increase engagement.
Also, you may want to turn on post approval if you haven't already to make sure that there isn't a lot of group spam which might be turning people off.
Great information! 'Will definitely start working on a traffic campaign. Also -I've done sponsored posts with FB in the past. But somehow they're saying I have an outstanding balance ($19.00), which I know absolutely, is not right. How do I go about fighting those charges? Thanks for any insight!
Thanks for letting me know :) You'll have to contact Facebook support about that one I'm afraid. They are usually very good at sorting errors like that.

With a page like campaign, Facebook only lets you run ads on the feeds - so selecting automatic placements or edit placements doesn't make any difference.

I am driving traffic at the moment directly from my ad through a bitly link to my group and averaging at 1 Euro per member
Hi Wigland, thanks a lot. I think that's a pretty good cost per new member. It was always very difficult for me to calculate my cost per new member because I was generating new group members from other sources at the same time - and you can't isolate people that come through this method if that's the case.
One of the great things about a group is that cost is likely to decrease as it grows. People are more willing to join Facebook Groups that have more activity and they spread the word, etc. My group now has 10,000+ members and it's growing by itself.

Can I post my inventory on my group wall or where? Facebook won't allow me to post on my Facebook wall. When I go to post inventory on Marketplace, I have to resize EVERYTHING to 500x500+ in size! That messes up the pixels on my pictures of my inventory. What other options do I have?!! MapQuest will support my store, but I'm not noticed anywhere, so I can not claim my business. I thought Facebook would be a great place to begin, but they keep flagging me on the Facebook Business section and I don't have their support, they will not direct me to where to go for support, so I can understand what to do, Facebook just keeps stopping me to get ahead. Hi Ben, I have a question: if a person does not join your group after inviting them and having sent them a reminder, do you need to remove them from the invited list? In other words, do the invited members that don't join limit the members you can invite to your group? I'm asking because it seems that I'm only able to invite a handful of people here and there, not even each day, which seems slow..
That's not something I've done but I don't think it would hurt to remove those people :)

We do not have that option. I can only invite friends - even if I act as my FB Fan page. I can go to my fanpage and go to groups and invite - however, it does not give me all the people that liked our page. I verified that my fanpage is linked to the group

Hi Omar, you can change the campaign objective you use which means you don't need a website URL. If you use the reach objective for example, you don't have to include a link in your ad

As with some people below, my linked page doesn't allow me to invite people to my group who have liked my page, and that function doesn't appear in my group, either. A different page I have does allow that. Apparently, some pages don't have that function. One person I know of bugged FB until they fixed it, but so far they haven't fixed my page. I've linked the other page to my group. It's a similar topic, but not the same look. Can I use that, or should I change the banner to match the look of my group?
Hi Jill, it sounds like Facebook have introduced a size criteria. They do this with quite a lot of features and this feature may only be available to Pages and Groups that aren't brand new.
I think it's best if your group matches your page as closely as possible but if they are closely linked I don't see that being an issue.

Hi Carl, you do need to link your Facebook Group to your Facebook Page for that option to appear.

Hi Ilza, I use monosnap for the screen recording part and a camera for the face-to-camera part. That's then overlaid over the first part of the video by my editor.

Hi Jordan, in that case you probably want to build your group from a source outside of Facebook - use an email list, other social networks, etc.

Thanks a lot. The great thing with this approach is that you don't need to advertise the group directly. You can simple invite people that like your page to join your group.
How much you should pay per group member depends on your business and how you monetize. Some can afford to pay a lot more than others. Bear in mind that group members are often highly engaged and much more valuable than an email subscriber in my opinion.
Yes, I would add some relevant tags - it definitely doesn't hurt.

@@msme20084 that's most likely because you are interacting in your Facebook Group as your personal profile. If you change your role and interact in your Group as your Facebook Page you should see the invite feature. That is assuming you have already linked your Page and your Group and haven't violated Facebook's terms of use previously (they can remove functionality if you do)
Do you need a certain number of page Likes before you can invite people to a group? I've got 53 Likes on my business page but whenever I try to invite those people to my group, it says that I don't have any fans to invite.
Was wondering if maybe you need at least a 100 page Likes or something first or perhaps you need a certain amount of group members first before you can do this? Can't find anything anywhere about this online though.
Hi Leigh, I'm not sure to be honest. I wouldn't be surprised if there is. Best way to find out is to run a Page likes campaign, generate a few hundred page likes and see if that fixes the problem.

Hi Benjamin, if you want to run an ad directly to your group, I would use the post engagement objective. Having said that, I think the strategy outlined in this video will produce better results. At the moment I'm adding about 200 per month to my group. It's already over 1,100 now
My facebook page is for my family so i only have a small number of people on it. This doesn't help me in the least. Not to mention, you talk about ALOT about the same thing. When you are demonstrating you move so fast, we can hardly see your pointer and WHERE you are clicking on.

That depends on what type of website you have. Any of the major store providers like Shopify have all that built in automatically. If you have a custom set up then yes, add to cart event code will need to be installed.

Hi William, good question. Facebook don't have a campaign type that is designed for advertising a Facebook group. But you could run a traffic campaign that directly links to your Facebook Group - that's what I mean by directly advertising it.

Hi Shannon, sometimes that feature disappears for a while - particularly if you have used it a lot recently. I have had this happen multiple times but it always come back and fairly soon :)

Hi Demelza, good question. You need to link your Facebook Group to your Facebook Page and then interact with your Facebook Group as your Page (instead of your personal profile).

I have a Facebook group I've only been able to add my friends from my friend list on my Facebook account but I have received invitation from people that are not friends with me to join their groups I have no idea how to do the same thing to invite people that are not my Facebook friends to join my group
Hi Hannah, you need to interact in your Group as your Facebook Page not your personal Facebook profile. And you need to make sure your Page and Group are linked - then you should be able to do this.

I've done this successfully but have one questions. I set up a campaign to get page likes. It brings in the description from my about sections. I have had lots of likes but then Facebook tells me to ask them to like my page. I thought that was what they had already done. Facebook is wanting me to invite each like to like my page. I've done so it's not a big deal, but I don't understand why it's necessary. Can you explain?
Sure, Facebook is suggesting that you ask people that liked your ad (not your page) to like your Page. That's the difference between those tow - I can see why that would be confusing :)
@@BenHeath Let me make sure I get this. At the Campain level, when I select page likes, and it pulls in information to the post from my about section, it is getting POST likes not PAGE likes.
It strikes me this is a cost-effective way of getting post likes you just cannot add a button to do anything other than like the POST,which I can live with as so many did like my page.
I've not selected a Worldwide audience before nor done a page likes campaign, so thank you. I got almost 2K likes over the weekend, which is double the weekend before. Which I was also delighted with. The previous week was using Lead Enforce audience with a landing page campaign.
2K page likes might not be HUGE for you but it is for me. I run an almost no profit business, it is really more of a charity passing on information to help dyslexic children. I'm very grateful for your channel.
Why do you think I had such a big jump up in page likes? I know it might be hard to say but do you think it is it the Worldwide audience, or the Page like campaign type, or the combination of both?

Hi Carlos, that could be because of the type of post - you can't promote them all or perhaps your ad account has been suspended or disabled.

Hi Cassie, this feature does disappear for some reason every now and then. I would try changing your role in the Group (interacting as Page or profile) and see if it appears for one of those - that seems to help

Hi Samra, yes you do but depending on where you're advertising, page likes can be very inexpensive.

Hi Chris, are you interacting with your Group as your Page? You need to do that instead of interacting as your personal profile. Your Page also needs to be an admin of your Group as well.
I want to ask you a question. On my Facebook group, the selected members area where you can invite people who like your page suddenly went away. I too found this feature to be very helpful growing your group. I was wondering if you knew hot to unhide suggested members or how do I get this feature back. Thank you for your help.
Hi Scott, great question and the solution is just to wait. Facebook removes this option when you have used quite a lot in a short time period to prevent you from abusing it. It should come back within a few days.

Hi, it's definitely still there. But this feature can be buggy - it's likely to show up after a few days.

When I'm using my personal profile it suggests my personal friends. When I switch to my page profile, it suggests my page members. Thanks for the tip!

Hi Brooke, yes I think that's the case. I have had many people make the same comment and the issue seems to resolve itself at some point.

Hi Niels, it sounds like something in your ad violated the advertiser policies. The only way to unsure it doesn't happen again is to really now the policies and stay clear of anything Facebook doesn't like.

This is generally great advice but I am skeptical of page like campaigns . I wonder if you are paying for robots who never interact with the page.🤔
Thanks Mark, when you run a likes campaign within Facebook you aren't advertising to bots, they will be real profiles. You end up with bots if you pay for a service that's external to Facebook's ad network.
However they may not engage with your Page even though they are real people because there is very limited organic reach via Facebook Pages. That's why I recommend you invite those people to join your Group - there people are far more likely to engage.
Paying for page likes though feels so redundant. Also I don’t see that invite from page within my group?

Hi I was trying to create a page like campaign.. all setup and after payment I am getting this error
"Account is not qualified to create a CPA ad: This account has been created too recently, or spends too little to be eligible for CPA ad creation."
Can anybody help me on that why that error is coming and how to solve it.

Hi Samar, that's interesting, that's not something I've seen before. The simple solution would be to wait a while or run another campaign type and increase your account spend. Is the ad account new? How much have you spent on ads so far with this account?

The amount I was trying to spent is good enough around 70$.. Dont know why I am unable to place an ads on facebook and they dont have any support system too. @@samarkumarroy199 it doesn't matter how long you've been on Facebook, it's how long your ad account has been running ads for? Like I said, I would run a different type of campaign for a few days and try again

Hi Danielle, Ads Manager isn't something that's in your Facebook Group. It's a separate part of Facebook. You can get there from your Facebook profile.
Why do you need to create a group if your page is already doing so well?
Hi Matt - good question. Groups get A LOT more engagement and people actually see your posts - they don't with Pages anymore.

I was actually trying to make good meme group and wanted every meme of people that they upload to have atleast some reactions and not just few like in many groups
So I didn't approved memes until we had 100 members and did not approved post until previous meme had some good reach
Result
Engagement increased at good rate

Hi Daan, that sounds strange. Has that page been penalized by Facebook for anything? That could be the reason. Also, are you an admin of that page - you'll need to be.
@@BenHeath Hi, thanks for the answer! We have not been penalized for anything... The page is currently pretty new. I am an admin of the page so that can't be the problem :(. I have compared all the settings of the page I'm available to join with and the page I can't join with and the only difference seems to be the category, but changing this doesn't help as well...
