This was SO helpful! Not only did I have a seat that wouldn't stay up, but I really had no idea how a dropper post actually works. I'm happy to see that with the right tools & a spare cable, I can replace a broken cable myself. Thanks for this great video!
Very helpful, I adjusted my seat heigh whilst out on a ride and didn’t know I am about to bugger up the dropper post, I had to ride with a dropped dropper post, no fun. But with your help I adjusted the cable length and it’s all good now!
Thank you! This saved me from having to drop my bike off at the shop and likely be without it for a few days for something that ended up being an easy fix
Anna's videos are so clear and easy to understand. I am understanding many new things. Would Anna make a video on replacing a tap washer, asking for a friend.
You can see Anna‘s experience as a guide. She has seen all possible defects. I‘d add in: If you are running a hydraulic Rock Shox Reverb and break the hose, your day is most likely ruined. (from own experience)
My dropper became rough going up and down . It needed to be serviced and cleaned and good to go . It became a bit rough again . Tried to lubricate the cable which did help but still problematic . I pulled the cable out a bit at the lever and the cable became fraid . Replaced the cable and back to like new operation .
Top tip,had to replace my Fox dropper cable the other day, bought brake cable but too thick 🤦♂️ then used standard gear cable which is the right diameter 👌 a £3 fix
That's not a top tip; it's literally just product knowledge. Droppers use shifter cables, not brake cables, across the board. The only exception would be RockShox Reverb droppers, which either use hydraulics or are wireless and battery-powered.
this video was really informative and really rad on my 29er I have a air-powered dropper so would any of these tips help or do you guys happen to have a video with more air dropper post oriented stuff
These new Fox dropper post are not as good as the old ones as they stick all the time and do not top out or don't rise when you want and it's been serviced but back at it again after a service.
1:20 So far it has all been about cable actuated posts. What if, like me, you have a Reverb or another hydraulicly actuated post? These tips are not going to work. Well, rockshox make something called the enduro collar. It's a life saver.
After rebuilding my Reverb and the reverb on a friends bike. I sold them used and we upgraded to cable actuated droppers. Reverbs got to be too finicky for me.

Just wanted to say thanks. Picked up a bike with dropper post with some issues. This is just what I needed!

100%! Anna has some great tips and hacks when it comes to trailside emergencies! 👍

All cables need replacing at some point and frequent lunrication to make them last longer
Glad you found the cause of the issue, Steven! A new cable works wonders. Safe riding! 👍
Helpful tips and good clear advice.
Thanks for watching Mark!
Super helpful! Thank you!

👍😉great vid, my dropper lever seems to get stuck only every know an then with temperature change usually when its cold🤔
The more I see internal routed cables, the more I only want external cables.
Haha! They can be confusing and irritating to work with, but they make your bike look so tidy.😅

How to fix your dropper post!
Just adjust your barrel adjuster silly!
Me: Cries in seized up rockshox reverb. lol.
What to do when the cable housing is stuck deep inside the seat tube and it doesn't come up when you push on it from the other side?
What should I do if my dropper seal is out of place and moves up as the seat post rises?
Great your hired how soon can you start?? Lol
Keepemcoming
Jagwire makes a pro dropper cable. Thinner than shift cable.
True, but it's only really warranted if your internally routed cable has to go through particularly tight bends to reach the seatpost.

What If I don't have a barrel adjuster. Most cheaper droppers like brand x ascend don't have this.
I'm thinking of an inline barrel adjuster for my brand-x.
My brand x came with a barrel adjuster on the lever.
Then spend money and upgrade to a higher end one.
You can add an inline barrel adjuster to any cable housing. But as stated, the lever should include a barrel adjuster already.
did you cut the cable? lol
who need a dropper post,,,i can move mine by QR wile riding, not that e ever move mine

Well she didn't want to hurt your feeling's. Throw that junk away and buy, purchase, or steal a cable driven one.
The only Reverb you should get is AXS.
Solution: Don't buy RockShox :-P
What goggles/glasses is she wearing? 🤔
Anna is wearing POC Aspire sunglasses.👍
@@gmbntech Thx for reply 😊 Does Anna have any idea if there would be any chances to fit a pair of prescription glasses under those? 🤔
Hope there are stones used here. ;)
