write down the script, record one person, also record the voice on your phone, too. in the next shot open the recorded voice and chat with yourself. boom, you have well-synced audio... video part is easier.
How do you do the video part without premiere?
can you record an example of that?
how does one get rid off the phone audio afterwards which will be in the 2nd shot?

2. Channel Name Gets Changed to "Square Space Pete" for a few episodes
3. Square Space Pete pulls pranks on Matti
4. Square Space Pete Changes and Messes things up at the studio which normal Peter will discover over time in the following episodes and will have to fix.
5. Normal Peter Escapes and everything seems to go back to normal

Great timing Peter. I am doing my first clone film in about 3-4 weeks. Thanks for the tips. Note to self:
1. Overlapping sound
2. Look at where the clone is
3. Several angles for camera (got 2 cameras)
4. Filming with "main camera" in 4k can then zoom picture to cover mistakes
5. Filler shots.. nodding/reacting pretend to listen
6. Replay soundtrack with earpiece to ease the process of response in conversation with self.
7. Multiple outfits

I do this all the time but I record the first conversation with my phone. Play the conversation back while I have a ear pod in the eye that’s hidden and then react to it. Lol

this may be too advanced for me (and therefore is the rationale behind not including it in the video), but how do you cut/crop the scenes to get them to match up? do you have to use premiere or final cut? I use an editing tool called Filmora Wondershare.

What a great thing to watch. The whole of it!
My top advice when I film a conversation with myself, is to put an object where the eyes of the "other me" will be. So if I'm having a conversation of me A with me B, when recording me A, I would put something where the eyes of me B will be. Then do the same thing when recording me B (object where the eyes of me A will be). It could be anything, giant teddy bear, somebody else (same size and posture as you), pile of books...
Without this it never seems like the 2 persons are in the same room, but razer looking through a mirror or something. This is the only way I could get the real illusion to work. It also allow you to look away from the other "you" for a bit and go back directly to the eyes during the conversation. Because in real life you don't just spend the entire time starring at somebody continuously. Well except if you're deeply in love. And in this case you'll be deeply in love with yourself... Awkward...
