@@Secretgardenvintageapartment Thank you! Finally, someone took notice of Kariza's sudden massive growth. I myself have bing watched her videos and paid attention to her storytelling and I 100% agree that it's phenomenal. I am learning a lot from it. And I totally agree when you said to "be yourself".. As a small content creator myself, I tried to imitate, emulate, or shaped a persona that wasn't me because I thought it's the way to make people engaged.. From now on, I will be myself. I am a big fan of Kariza ..She's like one of the few youtubers who treat her work as art..so remarkable.. Love that you are invested in her work and we are here rooting for your growth Sean
Her videos are class. The storytelling is phenomenal, and I've only seen two of her videos. The way she's subtly integrated her sponsorships as part of the narrative of her videos is a skill in itself. You can tell she's a filmmaker above being your standard content creator. Her shot compositions, the narrative progression. Her videos are like movies and I'm all for that level of creativity.
I absolutely adore and admire you for fangirling over Riza's videos. I don't believe I've seen anything like that before - peer to peer. The whole thing: Rizas going against usual TH-camr "rules" and you admiring her for it AND supporting each other instead of just highlighting yourself (none of that "don't forget to like and subscribe right here!" *insert GIF arrow*) - I hope this sets new standards for noble behavior ❤
You all are incredibly kind, and I'm truly grateful for your support 🙏🏻. This was a new type of content for me, but I had a blast creating it. Hmm... I would like you to analyze "annika's leaf". Her content is idk somehow addicting because I often tell myself I will not watch this week's vlog or I"ll just watch a few minutes and I just can't stop haha (I don't want to watch her vlogs because they are kinda long and I feel bad for all that consumed time 😅) Her last vlog was really good, idk it felt way more relaxing than her usual vlogs are. Her whole content is really good and who knows you might end binge watching her videos just like I did the first time I found her channel 🤭
its my first time viewing your video and first time knowing riza. I clicked out of curiosity and i loved the video. I can see that both of you enjoy the process of making films and that matters immensely because it shows up in the art itself. Bravo to you and Riza and thank you for sharing with us!
"Discovered" Riza several months ago, and was blown away by her incredible talent, both as a storyteller and cinematographer. THIS video is an excellent analysis of why & how she does things. Great presentation Sean! And thanks for doing this! Very impressive, practical and a "must" see by any one who aspires to shoot video and then develop their own style.
This has taught me that being discovered isn’t linear!! If a piece of work doesn’t receive much attention right away, it doesn’t mean it’s bad. That incredible piece of work that you worked so hard on will exist online forever. If you keep pushing, the algorithm will eventually bring the right people to you.
I've not yet seen either of your films until now. But, because of this film, I now know of two more talented creators to view and enjoy. Thanks, Sean for making this film, keep going
You reenacting the head turn scene was so damn funny, hahaha I love that you did the whole scene I was giggling for all the build up! The video overall is very sweet to honor someone doing something well is something you don't see very much of online
She randomly appeared on my feed and I took a punt on watching and I was amazed with how simple and cinematic her videos were. I feel like every shot is intentional in every way and I can't imt imagine making videos are kinda mundane things but make them so interesting. I didn't even realise her channel is so young until recently.
I literally just learned about her today and started to follow her on TH-cam!! Yeah man! She has talent! You too man! I want to tell stories like you both! Thanks for the inspiration and dope vibes!
I’m glad people have finally discovered Life of Riza. She’s my favourite fellow Canadian TH-camr. Also, yeah the head flip while making coffee wasn’t cute but the coffee making part was just as good. Maybe rubbing your chin would give you the quiet depth to finish the scene.
She is brilliant in every aspect of her work. She could make tying her shoes captivating. I am quite confident that she will be a successful cinematographer as she continues to expand her horizons. The fact that she is a beautiful young lady doesn't hurt either. Who wouldn't want to spend a day with her?
She is very creative and inspiring but I kept comparing my video quality to her and felt bad about myself. However, her contents do push me to better my work. Now watching your video and hearing the thoughts, I realize I just need to keep trying to find my own style. Thank You
The clips of her videos looked fantastic. I bet I would be just as interested in your stories whether you think your film is better or worse.....the story is equal.
I'm at a loss for words to describe the incredible learning experience I had today! Every second of the video perfectly justified the topic. Thank you for this amazing video!
It's craaazy, I remember seeing some of her videos when she had 20k-30k subs. Really enjoyed her style, and it was just a bit after I got into "cinematography", so I enjoyed watching it. It goes just a few weeks or months-Idk, but I was working on my service business-and I check back in, 130k subs, a it two later like 300k+, crazy but I can't say she doesn't deserve it. First person I've seen really implement cinematography into the "mainstream life advice" genre. Not only that, but she does a good job at crafting her overall videos.
Thanks for the video. I feel motivated by the slow vibe your video brings. It has the recreational energy needed for the long journey that I'm on, to find the creator inside.
You’re both so cinematic. I really feel taken back to the 90s. There is this crisp nostalgia even through the grainy additions and filmier edits. It’s like a hang with an old friend. Before phones. A bit vintage. But somehow like it was just yesterday. Youre both so charming. Love the way you broke this down. Now I know why she feels so cozy to watch.
You did such a great job in trying to tackle the topic of 'Kariza'! I feel that you have come a long way yourself. You are so inspiring as well in your own way, such a beautiful way!
I absolutely love her channel too! I've watched some of her videos multiple times just to figure out how she does it. The one thing I think you left out is that every scene she includes has purpose. Whether that's setting the scene/mood or helping tell a story. What creators sometimes get hooked on is the cinematic feel. They just like the look of a shot so they include rather than asking is it necessary to include. This is what she specializes in!
The comment at the end of staying committed to your art, even when the number of views breaks your heart, really resonates. I mostly post on Instagram and have had that feeling more often than not recently. Love the video overall. Thanks for putting this together!
Hi! I was not familiar with Kariza until watching this video. I’m now curious and will check out her channel. It can be quite discouraging when you put a lot of work into a video and only a couple people view it. Thank you for creating this beautiful and inspiring video! ❤❤❤
i dont know about riza but the way you did the story telling and your observation. i gave it a sub . Now ill go to her channel and try to learn few things. like you covered everything thing but still.
I just fell in love with your style, Sean! Your voice, your accent, your kindness and your very unique way of doing content. I am very happy to have found you! All the good energies of the universe to your project! I will be here to watch you rise the stars 🍀
This break down was very respectfully and nicely done. This was the first video of yours that I’ve come across but you have a new subscriber. Great work.
Dude, you went above and beynond on this video. The examples, the structure of your script slowly building up to the most key aspect, even the AI to prove such a huge point. Insane. Keep up the phenomenal work 🚀
Sean: that is an absolutely remarkable video. i learned a lot from it. i think you have taken whatever you have learned from riza and captured it in your own style. we'll all be great one day; one video at a time. be well.
I didnt know Life of Riza, but I must say this video is up there. You did an extraordinary intro and I'm amazed at your simple but fascinating breakdown of this great TH-camr. Thanks for the effort and the hard work. I aim to imitate your cinematography one day!
yeah... the eye catching thumbnail. then the intro... next the value giving to the watcher with a great cinematography... fantastic my friend... you have a big journey to go.. subbed..! cheers! grateful for I found this channel :D
u break it down very well. after watching this analysis, i realised there's more behind whats on the surface. we can peek into her creative process and thoughts she put in her works. I'm an illustrator and full time artist by the way and I've been watching photography/cinematography related videos to learn something new and develop more skills. again, this is very helpful. i hope ur hard work paid off eventually. keep creating!
Thank you for making this video! A friend of mine showed me her channel a few months ago, and like you said, it showed me that you can create just by being yourself. I love seeing creators like you and her show their skill in cinematography, and I encourage more creators not to be afraid to express it!
Come on, she is a beautiful Woman 😍, this helps a lot. That shouldn't reduce her skills now, but her sweet charisma is a huge share in her success. Let's be honest.
You didn’t nail the head turn 😅, but you crushed the attention metric! First time watching and you kept me engaged and curious till “Hero, let’s go home.” Really enjoyed your work! A thousand thumbs up 👍
This video was so helpful and eye opening to me as a very small creator here on TH-cam. Riza is inspiring as a movie-maker and so are you, thank you for breaking down her content and for giving us an opportunity to see yours too- love what you do and for your fresh honesty in the online space. Thank you!
Lovely message, thank you. I wish more people would just dare to consistently be themselves instead of putting on a show. Much prefer this style. Funnily enough, I was suggested your video now before ever seeing any of her work, but I will definitely take a look at her channel now.
Thank you for sharing all this perspective on Kariza (I didn't even know that was her real name!) I never knew she blew up so fast. I always assumed that because her content was so captivating she had always been great. Just like you, I really look up to her dedication even though she didn't have the audience she has today.
It's my first time stumbling across your video and I really appreciate your cinematic and storytelling critiques & breakdown of Kariza's channel. It's my first time hearing of her channel and I'm about to go binge her content! You've done a wonderful job providing examples from her videos and juxtaposing them with yours. Please do more of these video breakdowns of other channels! I'm sure many people including me will find them helpful! Thank you again for a very enjoyable video & looking forward to seeing more of your content.
I didn't know about her channel before your video. So, I paused and checked her channel out and was amazed. She has made her life into a movie! The combination of the right talents in one person is incredible! Being able to film yourself, be photogenic, have nice voice and have right ideas for videos is a tough combo. But I should say that your video review was also of similar style and quality. Found two great channels today :D
omg the head tilt is funny! but thanks for sharing your views about kariza's talent and awesome work. it has made me realise i am not alone in noticing the same! so so amazing!
I had not yet heard of "Life of Riza", but this breakdown does make me want to look into it as the excerpts given are so well made that it is hard to fathom they are not from an incredible little movie.
@SeanAlami and @LifeOfRiza i feel I owe you a big thank-you. I started my TH-cam channel a little more than 2 years ago just because I had something to "precious" to share. I only had the information I felt the need to share, my character and my smartphone. Since then I an learning, day by day a new language to me: video as a carrier for my message. And now that I need to improve my "carrier" to better deliver the message itself. So, thank you. Because you are providing me a jurney in a new world, new language that I want and I Need to learn. 🌻
After your analysis and watching some of Riza's very talented videos. There is always one key observation that is left out in the success of a lot of youtubers that "make it". When you want to "gain traction" you need to be cute, attractive, or the sorts, it helps A LOT.
WOW what a beautiful video! I love watching Life of Riza's videos, but I never really broke it down why I love her so much. I think you're lit the fire in my belly! Thank you so much x
One almost-mentioned factor, is that she is absolutely beautiful, and this, depite what many would love to believe, plays a huge role in popularity, especially on channels like Riza's where you are essentialy watching her face for a large amount of the time. As a middling looking middle-aged man, (if) I could produce a video to the same standards and inserted my own somewhat dissapointing appearance into it, there would be few viewers hanging out to watch them again. This is a fact of life. I personally think she is fantastic ^_^
very well made video bro and like you said I think the biggest factor of her success is simply the kind of person she is on camera. You can have all the technical skills in the world but if you're not able to connect with the audience than it might take even longer to reach the same success. Also the fact that she already put so much effort in her previous videos.
Hey Sean, great breakdown! I saw 1 or 2 videos of hers a few months ago so this was cool to watch as someone who is trying to improve their videography skills. I particularly like the part @ 7:25 where you showed with AI how much of a difference scenery and small details can make! Also very funny how the head turn she does wouldn't apply to us haha, if i did that in a review of mine I don't think people would take me seriously. Only thing that I would mention here would be to link her channel in the description for people that aren't familiar with her work. Thanks for the vid, first time here and instant sub!
I don't know how I got to this video, but I am so grateful that you shared your story of how this creator has inspired you. I must now binge! I have been watching so many videos about how to move forward in my journey, but somehow this really resonated with me. Tips and experience are great, but watching your video and highlights of her videos gave me a renewed inspiration to create. Your style is very thoughtful, your edits and pacing are wonderful and your story in this video is selfless. Thank you! I hope the likes, subscribes and watch will help move you forward.
Finding your video was important to me, and the last phrases you say about being yourself and staying to it, are an inspiration, so thank you for that. Some weeks ago I also found Riza's channel. I agree with you, what a magical sensitivity in making videos, I am also learning with her, and now with you too, You did excellent work on your video too, excellent filming and beautiful production, Thank you again.
This is one of the most inspiring content that I've ever found, I recently started vlogging and I am still struggling find my own style making videos. Your breakdown and tips encourage me a lot. Thank you 🤍
Sean, this was a masterpiece. You could really feel the amount of work and dedication you put into this. I hope you'll get the attention you deserve. Keep on going man.
Excellent video which required a lot of work on your part. I had never heard of Life of Riza so will check out her channel too. Thanks for this great breakdown. Very interesting.
Her videos remind me of Casey Neistat and Wes Anderson but dialed back, combined with a Japanese sensibility, like Ozu or Miyazaki. You don't feel beaten over the head with gimmicks or enthusiasm, but it all feels considered and well paced. It feels authentic but still highly stylised (like Neistat).
Fantastic video, brother! I just discovered Life or Riza for the first time today... and now your video. Perhaps a sign for me as I've been thinking of starting my own channel, but held back by fear....
This is what I have been looking for, something which can guide me for adding a different essence to my content creation journey. Last month I started creating videos on TH-cam, and with God's grace I have been able to create 7-8 long form videos and 9-10 shorts, but I could not get enough views, and I always felt something is still missing. And from this video I have definitely learnt many new things, which I will try implementing soon.... And those last words: Believe in what you doing, and stay consistent..... Yeeee I am going to be consistent no matter what!!!
I was watching her from way back. So glad she finally popped. She's a trendsetter in a world where everyone's doing short videos. Hers force the viewer to slow down. I think people are craving that
Have I binge-watched Riza's videos? Yes. I love how she presented things in her videos, and everything is intentional, from the lighting to the framing, to everything. Now, will I binge-watch your videos because of this? Yes, definitely. I like how you presented Riza in this video and would love to see what you got. :D

That coffee brew head turn 😅 This is a really good review of Riza's work. The way she blends all of it together really makes her videos stand out.

I didn't even realise her channel is so young until recently.
Some people just have a talent for this kind of story telling, plus she is an interesting very pretty girl. Thanks for breaking it down. Larry
Exactly pretty af
I literally just learned about her today and started to follow her on TH-cam!! Yeah man! She has talent! You too man! I want to tell stories like you both! Thanks for the inspiration and dope vibes!
Welcome aboard!
Never heard of Riza but video was recommended by algorithm. 1 minute in this feels very wholesome.
Dude LOVE how you broke this down. This lil girl is SOLID. Comp is ridiculous. She’s gorgeous. SIMPLE. But there’s elegance. She’s funny! Im jelly lol
Glad you enjoyed it!
Stay consistent!!! Thank you❤
I'm not crying (This was the sweetest video)
I really appreciated how sincere Sean’s approach to this was - you did a great job
I appreciate that!
She renewed your hope and you renewed mine. Thanks for that! You are two big inspirations for me from now on. This is art!
🙏🏻🙏🏻
You have a really deep and soft voice that pairs well with your accent. It's very comforting. Good luck with your channel! You are doing great!
Thank you so much!
That head tilt was top notch!!! Your video was great.
You did such a great job in trying to tackle the topic of 'Kariza'! I feel that you have come a long way yourself. You are so inspiring as well in your own way, such a beautiful way!
Thank you so much!
Very inspirational, respectful and well-done. Glad to discover you and Riza.
Love love love the way you did this, I’m always looking for good cinematic storytellers on TH-cam, and now I’ve found two! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
i dont know about riza but the way you did the story telling and your observation. i gave it a sub .
Thank you! 😌🙏🏻🙏🏻
Your breakdown shows how good of a cinematographer you are too👏🏻
This break down was very respectfully and nicely done. This was the first video of yours that I’ve come across but you have a new subscriber. Great work.
I appreciate that!
Dear Sean. I just discovered your channel. Love the vibe and your personality. Will come back again. Keep creating!
Awesome! Thank you!
Dude, you went above and beynond on this video. The examples, the structure of your script slowly building up to the most key aspect, even the AI to prove such a huge point. Insane. Keep up the phenomenal work 🚀
Appreciate the kinds words man. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Sean: that is an absolutely remarkable video. i learned a lot from it. i think you have taken whatever you have learned from riza and captured it in your own style. we'll all be great one day; one video at a time. be well.
I appreciate that!
I didnt know Life of Riza, but I must say this video is up there. You did an extraordinary intro and I'm amazed at your simple but fascinating breakdown of this great TH-camr.
Thanks for the effort and the hard work.
I aim to imitate your cinematography one day!
Thank you so much 😀
yeah... the eye catching thumbnail. then the intro... next the value giving to the watcher with a great cinematography... fantastic my friend... you have a big journey to go.. subbed..! cheers! grateful for I found this channel :D
Amazing Breakdown. I am fully inspired, thanks.
u break it down very well. after watching this analysis, i realised there's more behind whats on the surface. we can peek into her creative process and thoughts she put in her works.
I'm an illustrator and full time artist by the way and I've been watching photography/cinematography related videos to learn something new and develop more skills.
again, this is very helpful. i hope ur hard work paid off eventually. keep creating!
You’re very welcome
"Believe in what you are doing and stay consistent". That is the point! Thank youu
Thank you for making this video! A friend of mine showed me her channel a few months ago, and like you said, it showed me that you can create just by being yourself. I love seeing creators like you and her show their skill in cinematography, and I encourage more creators not to be afraid to express it!
You are so welcome!
A thousand thumbs up 👍
Glad you enjoyed!
I loved this video even more due to your 'cute' head tilt
This episode's true epitome of what youtube is and should be, I learnded a lot.
🙏🏻🙏🏻
Agree with everything! She and her video's are mesmerizing.
This is super crazy…. In a good way. What a cool way to acknowledge somebody 🌊
This video was so helpful and eye opening to me as a very small creator here on TH-cam. Riza is inspiring as a movie-maker and so are you, thank you for breaking down her content and for giving us an opportunity to see yours too- love what you do and for your fresh honesty in the online space. Thank you!
🙏🏻🙏🏻
Lovely message, thank you. I wish more people would just dare to consistently be themselves instead of putting on a show. Much prefer this style.
Funnily enough, I was suggested your video now before ever seeing any of her work, but I will definitely take a look at her channel now.
Thank you for sharing all this perspective on Kariza (I didn't even know that was her real name!) I never knew she blew up so fast. I always assumed that because her content was so captivating she had always been great. Just like you, I really look up to her dedication even though she didn't have the audience she has today.
You are so welcome!
Your videos are amazing too! So comfy to watch in a rainy evening
Thank You a ton
I didn't know about her channel before your video. So, I paused and checked her channel out and was amazed. She has made her life into a movie! The combination of the right talents in one person is incredible! Being able to film yourself, be photogenic, have nice voice and have right ideas for videos is a tough combo.
But I should say that your video review was also of similar style and quality. Found two great channels today :D
omg the head tilt is funny! but thanks for sharing your views about kariza's talent and awesome work. it has made me realise i am not alone in noticing the same! so so amazing!
thanks for making this, encouraging!
Loved watching this. So refreshing to see someone recognize and honor someone who inspired and helped them :)
Thank you
Thank you so much Sean for this! I’ve been definitely struggling with the low numbers lately and this gave me hope and inspiration. Thanks ❤
You got this!
I had not yet heard of "Life of Riza", but this breakdown does make me want to look into it as the excerpts given are so well made that it is hard to fathom they are not from an incredible little movie.
🙏🏻🙏🏻
@SeanAlami and @LifeOfRiza i feel I owe you a big thank-you.
🌻
Best of luck to you
After your analysis and watching some of Riza's very talented videos. There is always one key observation that is left out in the success of a lot of youtubers that "make it". When you want to "gain traction" you need to be cute, attractive, or the sorts, it helps A LOT.
...but...but....that doesn't explain why girls driving their vans and camping in bikini tops make it big.......No wait, it does.
Thank you, thank you so much for an extremely passionate video
WOW what a beautiful video! I love watching Life of Riza's videos, but I never really broke it down why I love her so much. I think you're lit the fire in my belly! Thank you so much x
Glad you enjoyed it!
I personally think she is fantastic ^_^
i laughed out loud at the head turn demonstration! 😁
I absolutely LOVED this review. Shes incredible - but your breakdown was too 🤗
very well made video bro and like you said I think the biggest factor of her success is simply the kind of person she is on camera. You can have all the technical skills in the world but if you're not able to connect with the audience than it might take even longer to reach the same success. Also the fact that she already put so much effort in her previous videos.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Guess what! I saw my first video from her, and now I'm here. You just showed 2 or 3 b-roll scenes, but guess you got a new follower!!
I appreciate the kind words, Vlad
Thank you, keep at it
This is one of the most inspiring content that I've ever found, I recently started vlogging and I am still struggling find my own style making videos. Your breakdown and tips encourage me a lot. Thank you 🤍
Go for it!
Sean, this was a masterpiece. You could really feel the amount of work and dedication you put into this. I hope you'll get the attention you deserve. Keep on going man.
I appreciate that Brother
Do it
@@SeanAlami I will try my best!!!
I was watching her from way back. So glad she finally popped. She's a trendsetter in a world where everyone's doing short videos. Hers force the viewer to slow down. I think people are craving that
Great review. Like this video and I yes, I follow Life of Riza too. She is amazing!
Glad you like them!
The end made me cry 😭 thank you so much for making this.
So inspiring 🥺💎✨
Your analysis are impeccable 👏🏼
