UPDATE: the video is out now! th-cam.com/video/eBuZ_erh5UU/w-d-xo.html See you next week with that planning video! Feel free to share your radical creator moments below also 🎉
So happy your doing good man. I haven't logged into P24 since you left, this is all that is needed. God Bless and DEFINITELY Digging the Alter Ego Ruthless Nick vibe idea. Definitely lean into that and embrace it whole heartedly! Gonna be Epic haha
Im really looking forward to this. I am just working on my planning right now! I have some time to pre record during the holidays and I am moving in the new year (setting up a new studio and all that takes time!), so I am trying to be very specific about which projects I want to work on.
Nate, I know I don't know you personally but I've been working to grow my TH-cam channel for over a year now but only recently discovered your content. I gotta say, of the DOZENS of accounts that "offer advice", yours has been the most helpful hands down. I like that you keep it real and give straightforward, practical insights. Thanks for the energy that you put into your work! It's so helpful!
Nate. I've been listening to you for over six months now and your advice has paid off... literally. I was growing well. The first week of November, I was at 2,250 subs and averaged about 200-500 views per video. I was feeling pretty good. I had 1,600(roughly) watch hours and thought hey, I could get fully monetized by Spring. Well, one video changed everything. I posted on November 11th and it has over 260K views and I gained almost 20k subs just in November. I was monetized in a week LOL. Now, I'm averaging 800-1000 subs per day because of the snowball effect. I'm keeping things simple and not planning too hard or doing unnecessary videos. Thank you. For everything.
Probably the best advice i have seen on any of these how to grow your channel videos is the avoiding the short term actions unless of course you have no intent to make the videos you want, you just want to make videos people would watch. If you do that though you are just signing up for another 9-5 job and will miss out on how amazing youtube can be as a "job"
I only watch YT but I’m so tired of wordy intros that end with “so without further ado, let’s jump right into it!” Then they repeat what they’re going to do again. The other thing ppl do is talk in a fake, newscaster-like deliberate staccato cadence at the end of each idea where they say each. Word. With. A. Pause. It’s probably hard not to do when you’re trying to sound legit but once it starts it’s difficult to *not* hear. It makes it hard to absorb the actual message that usually could have taken 30 secs when having to suffer through yt’ers acting out the message like a talk show host instead of just saying it like they’re talking to a friend. But these are just pet peeves bc I love what yt’ers do and am grateful to them for the content! 💗
My takeaway moment for this one was right at the end: facing fear, and saying no to avoidance. I hit a dark spot with my channel this year, where I honestly wasn’t sure how to keep making content. Glad to have your channel to cheer me on while I get my legs back under me.
You hit the nail on the head about fear. I started my channel simply because it was on my Bucket List. Making money or tons of viewers was not the main goal and yet there was hesitancy as I didn’t want to look stupid to the world. Regardless, I tossed the fear factor aside and just started enjoying the process.
So glad that I have "permission" to stop the TH-cam shorts. I just am not a shorts creator. I decided to stop when I released a really slick two part clinical diagnosis (part one being the set up and part two being the payoff) only to have someone tell me that "I could make a video longer than 30 seconds" and shouldn't have broken it into two parts. In reality, each short was maxxed out at 60 seconds.
yeah shorts isn't for me either. Just doesn't suit what I'd like to do seeing your channel and your expertise I'm not surprised you've decided to stop too
I feel like this is speaking to me. My instinct is to just "be me," but then the advice is always "ask for subs, hit the like button, etc." So then I end up not being authentically me.
I spent a few years ahead of stepping forward with content creation fixing my issue of avoiding finishing things. From personal projects to hobbies, video games and even finishing tv shows - I realized I had a massive issue of stopping part-way. It was so many half-done things piled up over time, it felt like I had built up a bad karmic groove for always stopping partway. So, I focused several years on being better at doing and completing things while also getting fully clear on what I wanted to do with content creation. I knew this would ensure I built up a lot of reps of finishing small things, and also larger things, so I was in the groove of doing and completing before committing to starting content creation, and also that I was so clear and excited about my vision for it, that it would carry me through. I really like your last point, Nate! I think maybe my approach was a little extreme, but I wanted to be fully sure I would be in the right groove of being a doer and not just a dreamer, and one that was good at finishing tasks before committing completely. That last point, made a lot of sense to me and felt a bit along that line of radically committing to something and deciding to do all it takes, so it doesn't matter how long it takes to come to fruition. I know Pixar was 7 years of hard work before becoming an 'overnight success'. It can take a lot longer to get to our goals than folks realize! But, it is still worth doing, so you got to be rooted in something deeper.
wow thanks!! Great tips for 2024. I started in 2018, tried different channels for different niches that I was interested in. After a convo with a friend I started a new channel in June or July, posted a couple test vids, nothing. In late Oct or Nov I got serious about creating content and posting on a schedule (3 times a week) and in a month I went from 0 to monetized. Mostly because I hit on a topic in my niche people often ask me about IRL so I decided to cover that topic as it's in my lane. To say I was shocked is an understatement. gimmicks, stay in my lane/ niche, stay on topic, stay focused on providing good information (if the content is good for the audience it's good for me), I don't do trends
"Not everyone should do TH-cam shorts" resonates with me so much, I've made this mistake, and it took me a long time to train the algorithm to get the right audience.
@@HowToSaveTheWorldTodaythe people who sub to you for shorts will most likely not watch your long form content so your sub to view count will be horrible
Couldn’t agree more. We used to make a lot of shorts but it didn’t translate. Though it helped build subscribers it did not build community or a true audience! All our best!
The quote at the end was awesome, I felt that. I agree 100% with your opinion on shorts, I've focus so much lately because it increases subs by a lot but those subs dont translate to long format videos. Great vid and thanks
Yes. I no longer make shorts and my long form videos have been getting so much love. I’m enjoying this learning process for sure. Depends on the channel. But for me. It wasn’t translating to long form views.
Great video, Nate. In line with a lot of your points, I think there's a real trap in creators wanting to go viral and "blowing up". In my opinion, it's neither realistic to aim for this (too many unpredictable variables), nor is it sustainable. It's much better to go for consistent, steady growth by creating high-quality, focused content. That way, subscribers and viewers who eventually find you can enjoy the library of content you've already produced, instead of having to wade through your previous failed attempts at going viral. In addition, steady growth means you won't be overwhelmed by a sudden influx of (potentially temporary) fans who have too much sway over your decisions before ultimately leaving.
you are so right. I lost over 40 subs last week and this keeps going on up/down with subs, I was gonna throw the towel in,but i sat back for 3 days and watch my videos and see the views kept on growing, and i realized thats what i did it all for , I love to cook and wanted to share it,and so to sppeed this up. I have 140 videos,I created stuff people like ,watch and keep watching. I acomplished what i wanted. And I am happy to have a hobby that will last a lifetime, cooking. I arrived. Now I focus on making my content its best. And now that I found Nate,i'll be fine. Thank you for making me see I have a library of content !
Dude you are literally SAVING my channel with everything you say! i decided to make a new channel and i am implementing everything you say into it! Thank you so much!
As a small creator, I absolutely relate to that last point 😅 I've been going back and forth about whether I should stick to my current style (more editing, fully scripted) to one that's more authentic (less editing and scripting). I want my videos to connect with people and feel more “down to earth”, but I’m not sure if I’ll end up alienating my current audience or just having those videos fail completely. I might just be scared about getting outside of my comfort zone (especially when it comes to improv-ing since I’m not the most concise speaker), but I really want to try to move to this style in 2024-my goal is to make my videos feel more like “hangout sessions” rather than “just videos”. In the words of Think Media, I gotta punch fear in the face 👊
Your transition that you would like to do doesn't have to a sudden change. Sprinkle the new format into your publishing - do some testing. Or you could go about it as "you do you." I think people enjoy authenticity and I personally seem to get turned away from more of the staged production.
The tip about starting the video like it would be in the middle is great. I have been trying it few times and it’s working well. I make travel video and instead of beginning with “hey guys welcome to country x”, i rather show some clips of the most iconic places, topic or funny moments (without revealing too much) before the intro.
Absolutely, I begin to think of a movie trailer. They jam a 2 or 3 hr moving into a 60 second trailer. Matter a fact. I base my thoughts on watching that movie on that trailer. Our channels work the same exact way. Great observation and change to your channel. Let’s get it!!!!!
Yeah, one friend of mine claims YOU HAVE to do Shorts in order for TH-cam to push your channel out there. Another said that TH-cam isn't even pushing Shorts anymore, and isn't really worth putting the effort into it. I tried it for a month, and it limped along puttering out no better than my regular videos. You can't earn any revenue off of it unless you're hitting like a million views, it's not going to rope people into watching for long form videos, and so, what's really the point unless you specialize in producing short form content entirely? Shorts aren't worth my time, and they aren't some magic key to unlock the algorithm. I'm glad you shot this theory down. I know plenty of VERY BIG channels who have never done a single Short, and are doing completely well for themselves.
Growing on tiktok taught me so much about retention. Starting like the video is already half way done is the key over there so now I’m using my short form content learnings to make full length videos!
You honestly give the best advice for content creation. I found you about a week ago and honestly the way you teach all your concepts is so much better than any other channel out there
Hi Nate, thank you so much for all the youtube advice! I've been watching your videos for over a year now and it has helped me so much on my youtube journey-I thought it was time to add my first comment. This video resonated with me since I recently did a huge overhaul of my channel and my content. I had one breakout video that was ranking in search, but bringing in the wrong audience. It was painful removing that video, but I knew it wasn't going to benefit my target audience or my journey overall. For anyone that's starting their youtube channel, I just started with videos that were 'easy' to make. I've learned so much over the last year, but most of it I'm trashing because they're so awful and not the direction I want to head, but I learned not only 'just start', but so many skills from just 'doing'. Looking into 2024, these points were so helpful! My focus for the year ahead is to build my video library without focusing so much on 'catching' subs. When the value is there, the community will come. And I also appreciate that you recommend either shorts or long form. Permission to not do everything has been granted! :)
This resonated so much! It made me think a lot as i have almost given up with youtube so many times for not growing but my small community is very engaging. I hope i am able to grow in 2024!
In medias res. Start in the middle of the action. All the best TH-cam advice has been done in literature for...much longer than TH-cam has been around. =) Great video, Nate! Thank you!! I'll try to be less polite going forward...that will be hard for this Midwestern girl!!
Man oh man you resonated with me today. I just started a video podcast, and I really H-A-T-E my intro! But on another note, I had a business coach tell me that I should start posting more shorts here to grow my channel. While I have a great idea for a series of shorts, you have made me rethink. This month I need to spend some time deciding what direction to take my channel in 2024. I have been a bit all over the place.
Thank you so so much for these tips! Especially the one about "starting in the middle" was so valuable for me! I'm currently writing the script for my first video and I used a generic introduction but after your advice I've rewritten it and it sounds SO MUCH BETTER! I cannot thank you enough!
Cannot wait to see the “planning your year” vid. As someone just finishing year 1 on TH-cam, I still don’t feel like I understand all the rhythms quite yet, so I’d value your experience. P.s. missing card at 9:45 for the roast vid
Love your style Nate! I'm a new small channel and I started shorts for quick tips and video editing practice, but the long goal is to get much better at long form video. They are absolutely 2 different viewers, but I see that as almost 2 channels so that works for me. Staring in the middle of a project is so hard for me to wrap my head around it, but I'm willing to try it out. Thank you for your time!
Us Nates gotta stick together. I love watching your journey on TH-cam. I'm in a similar boat, continuously making stuff that either flops or soars, and wondering why. I keep digging myself out of the hole, rolling over and trying something else. If I learn from it, I get better. If I wallow in it, I lose focus and drown. Looking forward to seeing your video next week.
Hey, NATE absolutely love what you’re doing with the new channel. Just turned 10,000 subs, unfortunately it’s a really tight niche with expensive equipment. Starting a second channel next year
Nate, You may not know this but you are helping many. I watched today's video twice in a row. This is pure gold. Fear is what is holding me back! Yes, fear. I would love to vlog more in public but I keep wondering what people would say. So I stick to talking head videos. But now I know better. Wait, did you just say that your baby is crying? Well, that and other crazy things you didn't cut out of this video, makes it so aunthentic and relatable. I do cut off such moments whenever someone disrupts my video (mostly my crying babies) who never just stop. And I just didn't know that such segments are what stitches up the video perfectly and makes you human. Thanks Nick🤭for being true to your audience. I look forward to that hot video. Maybe I may start a brand new channel now that my current channel refuses to grow legs and walk! By the way Nate, I checked your Channel art. And I love it!
Nate you always craft episodes covering the unconventional tips that bring the underlying growth. So many other YT experts just parrot each other about the easy topics like keywords & consistency. Nate I was soooo happy when I saw you created your own channel. Right on. Your tips have helped me quickly grow to 20k subs from 900k views. Thats about a 2.5% view-to-sub ratio. Not bad. That only comes from creating a cohesive community who has some sort of emotional connection to the creator.& their content.
I don’t know about others, but as a very small channel short videos helped me to find new audience and brought them to my channel! Most of them has become my new regular viewer of long format videos! I think when i reach some level of getting regular views from TH-cam, i would definitely stop uploading shorts! Anyway Nate you’re alway on point! Thanks! ❤
Congrats on your growth. New channel here as well. I stopped making shorts months ago. And I’m loving it. Since I stopped my long form videos have been getting real growth. But if that is working for you. I totally understand. Get it!!!!!
Yeah, I’m trying to dive straight into either the problem I’m solving on my tech how-to channel videos, or the big dream outcome they’ll get when the little tech thing they’re stuck with is fixed. I don’t ask people to subscribe and I rarely even mention my name, although I do go on camera.
I also stopped asking people to like and subscribe. People know how to use TH-cam. Hearing creators ask viewers to comment, like, and subscribe is annoying. If great content is made, the viewer will do those items without being asked.
Nate, you're revolutionizing TH-cam growth strategies! 🌟 Ditching polite intros for value pops is genius. 👏 Love how you challenge creators to rethink their approach, from snappy content delivery to audience-focused actions. Your insights on TH-cam shorts and fear-facing are invaluable. Can't wait for the channel planning video! Keep inspiring! 💡🚀
Your 1/4 time point is a big one! I often finish a video and then save a copy to edit down for shorts. As I try to edit a 'thought' to fit under a minute, I find lots of fat to trim. LOTS OF FAT. If I consciously do this BEFORE releasing the long video, I can usually go back and tighten it up and have a better product.
What I find most impressive about your videos Nate, is how I find myself watching until the end of every one of your videos and yet you use very little B roll, stock video or entertainment scenes. The quality of your content and delivery style appears to overshadow the need for any of that. I’ve been growing my channel for the past 3.5 years now but starting to get to the point of needing some guidance. I’m considering consulting with you very soon :)
I can attest to using shorts. I made a few, got some subs, did nothing for my channel. Now I just stick to mostly long form. I am trying to improve my thumbs and titles which is hard because I cannot script most of my content due to the nature of my vids(funny skits aside). Trying to break the mold of the average outdoor channel is a challenge but fun and I receive mostly positive feedback, so I will keep focusing on the long term audience that enjoys the style I am still perfecting. Thanks for all you awesome advice Nate! How can someone not know your name is Nate? An alter ego would be hilarious, I have a few myself! 😁
Yup I haven’t made a short in months. This has increased my long for views tremendously and I’m a small channel. Excited for the future for sure. I have been putting attention to my thumbnails & titles as well. It’s been working.
Literally hundreds of videos on “how to grow on TH-cam” but nothing is like this!! Great information and tips man very fresh and interesting content love your energy & honesty! You can tell how genuine and passionate you are, Well done Fantastic video!
Hi Nate ! I have been following you since a while and you are definitely one of the best . Your way of explaining is simple and to the point . Cheers 😊
I like this form of education. Not focusing on only what to do but focusing on the things to avoid. While pointing people in the right direction. I have been on my TH-cam journey off and on for a good 8 years now and really most of it was me planning learning and sitting around without posting. Tbh my biggest take away from my journey is. No one will see your content if you never make it. Taking the first step is the biggest step. Back to what I was saying about your video. This genuinely helps me understand what direction to go without the guess work of what should and should not be done. A lot of video's tell you all you need to know and the best things to do (this is really good) but you can still very well fall into the traps that you pointed out in this video. Great video thank you for the knowledge and being such a great teacher. :)
Great video Nate! Much of my focus is turning toward 2024 so your next video is very timely. We have two videos left to produce and publish this year. December is always a challenge because of its inherent “distractions”. Taking time to be with family & friends and to celebrate the holidays becomes more of a priority this time of year. That is why I adjust my publishing schedule to accommodate for the end of the year. Having a lighter schedule in December also allows time to strategize and plan out the new year.
The starting in the middle is probably the most valuable thing I pulled from this. As a farm channel the intro and build up can be pretty boring. Showing scenes closer to the climax of the video up front would probably grab attention a little faster and increase their chances of sticking around to see how I got there.
Definitely cutting videos shorter, with time and experience and taking some rest times between editing, I find I've gotten quite good at trimming the fat. Been keeping tabs also on a google sheets to of my raw video VS final edit to see where I can cut, I see myself repeating, going off on tangents, I'm taking more time on scripting and a practice run before filming, etc.
Seeing all the comments gives me hope. I only just started my channel and I have been binge watching your videos... I really hope that it will work for me as well!
Really interesting. I think I'm sort of doing at least some of these intuitively, but crystallising them into clear points is so helpful. The clarity you bring to this subject is top draw.
The ringtone with text definitely made me pause and rewind a couple times. I’m going to try and incorporate that somehow in my content! Great video as always, Nate.
Yep, definitely called me out on the last point, Nate. 😅 There are a lot of things I have ideas about doing, but after becoming afraid, I don't bother. I think it's finally time to change that 👍🏾. Thanks so much for another radical video, man! You're doing an amazing job!
I've never related to you more than the "Well... there's my child" I cannot tell you the amount of times I've had to pause filming to take care of the kid haha!
One good example I found was Think Media's video "50+ EASY TH-cam VIDEO IDEAS That Will BLOW UP Your Channel in 2023!" The video doesn't have an intro--it starts with the first tip and continues from there. I think this is what Nate meant by "starting in the middle"--instead of a formal intro, just start with the content that people came for. I've been trying to experiment with this in my own videos, but it's surprisingly challenging--I almost feel like I HAVE to start with something to ease people into the video, but I've often found the videos that have the most engaging intros are the ones that immediately deliver on their promise. Hope this helps :)
@@becomesavvy That's a fascinating concept. I can see how it works, but at the same time, yeah, like you mentioned, I feel like I HAVE to do my usual intros. Thanks for the tip!
Love this video and these tips. Facing fear is definitely what a lot of creators need to do and something I've been working on. Also, I like the advice of not being so polite in the intros!
I can’t put my finger on exactly what it is, but I feel like since you left channel makers and have been making videos on your own channel, I like them a lot more. I liked them plenty before, but you seem more…chill now? Like, ever so slightly more causal, haha. Might not be related at all, and just your own evolution in video making, but I dig it.
Great stuff as usual Nate! Send my regards to Nick My thumbs are a mess, but can only afford a self manicure, and I have the current skills of a woman whose been spun around several times, forced to drink vodka and paint my thumbs whilst blindfolded 😉 I'm still working on improving one thing at a time, and thumbnails are my least favourite. Also keep getting criticised by people for not including CTAs but I feel it's over-done... we all know by now to "boop the like"
New follow my brother. Been chipping away for a few months at a rebrand. A part of my marketing business. So I'm trying to find out what content I want to focus on and how I want to create it. It's not my goal to be a content creator. It's something I want to do on the side as a part of my business. Great value here sir.
Great video Nate! I also like the idea of Nefarious Nick as your roasting alter ego 😂! You should totally go with that! I think the biggest thing i took from this video is improving getting my point across in about a quarter of the time i think it will take which is so true. I look back at some of my first videos, a yr and half ago, and my more recent ones and see how much improvement there already in that area but I know I can get even better. Keep up the awesome work and looking forward to your next video!
Thank you for this! I’ve had the same thoughts about intros. I get so frustrated when people give a 3 minute intro… especially when it’s followed by “let’s jump right into it”
I learn so much from You Nate - can't wait to watch your next video on planning and conquering fear. I decided to drive my content without fear in 2024 and I'm excited about it. It's educators like you that keep us going! Thanks. Greetings from London, England.
You know what I found to be the hardest part of TH-cam? Finding people I vibe with to grow together. I’ve spent the last 3 days hunting for channel in the 1-50k subs range, and reaching out to people - but even though I get responses, I can just tell that they’re “not in the weeds.” On this stuff like I am and the convo lasts 2-3 messages. I have all the knowledge I need to just grow on YT, but it’s a lonely place to grow alone. I want to collab offline with other creators about thumbnails titles goals and ideas. Paid communities often really suck at this - I’ve partaked in a few for various interests in my life. They’re often “forced cohorts” and connections aren’t natural. Maybe I should start clicking on channels that leave comments here because I know they at least have interest in this sort of dedication.
I agree! I'm not claiming I'm the best, but I don't think I've ever struggled with ideas, thumbnails, editing, anything as much as trying to find creator friends to talk with. It's easy enough to find new ways to edit or draft scripts, but so difficult to find fellow creators to chat with.
You gave me the inspiration to start clicking on peoples channels here, and on channels I really appreciate! I checked out your channel and watched a few vids, I like what you're making. Subscribed! I make music related content and have been slow to produce vids, yet I'm very about this amazing platform, the people watching and interacting, and of course the inspiring and uplifting creators! I've been watching Nate's vids for a bit less than a year now and want to absorb and most importantly apply this knowledge. If you're up to connect, I'm game!
@NomadOverNormal Chris, You are searching for feedback from a community of strangers while ignoring the fact that you have a community of 2,000+ people who like you and your content so much they already told TH-cam to let them know when you publish more content! Use your community tab to ask your existing audience for feedback on some things. A few might respond because they have a connection with you. One or two of them might be a good fit. At least you will receive feedback from the very people who are interested in your content. I am willing to share additional feedback. But you do not have an email address listed for your channel. if you respond with an email address, I will try to send you some more of my thoughts.
Thank you for this video. We just started our channel a week ago and we can't believe how supportive the TH-cam community has been 😃😄 Don't give up on your channel. It doesn't matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop!
All great tips per usual Nate! I'm still not 100% sure I understand the whole "start in the middle" piece. Can you elaborate? Also can't wait for the planning video because I think that is my biggest pitfall right now.
Hey what’s up! When I make a video now I can’t help but think of a movie trailer. When you see a trailer they are action packing a 2 or 3 hour movie into 60 seconds. Just like a TH-cam short. I make a decision on if I’m going to invest time & money on a movie off of the trailer alone. Well our channels work the same way. When I click on a video of yours. Are you boring me with an intro to like , share , & sub. Or did you give me a “teaser” of what to expect? I recently started doing this in my videos. And I can see a difference in engagement!
Most of my content is building houses in video games (thrilling, I know). I stopped opening on an empty lot and started showing the final build at the beginning of the video so people know immediately what the outcome will be, and that helped with retention as well as the apparent professionalism. I know showing the end result isn't the best choice for every channel, but it worked for me because so much of what I do is tutorial based.
This is such a refreshing video! What about quality VS quantity? A lot of people are saying we need to upload weekly but it's hard to measure how impactful that is when trading off with quality.
01:10 📹 Focus on delivering value in your videos by treating key moments as "value pops" that engage and entertain your audience, rather than relying on typical TH-cam phrases or small talk. 02:32 📸 Avoid overly clever thumbnails; they should be understandable to a broad audience without requiring prior video-watching. 05:08 🎬 Not everyone needs to create TH-cam shorts; strategic use is key, catering to an audience that enjoys bite-sized content or aligning with your long-term goals. 06:49 🤔 Evaluate your actions: Don’t create content solely for views or subscribers; focus on building a dedicated and returning audience for long-term success. 07:46 📝 Plan yourcontent and channel strategy; know what types of videos/topics you'll cover and the audience actions you aim to drive with your content. 08:54 💬 Direct your audience behavior intentionally; reinforce the interactions and behaviors you want to encourage, as they tend to grow. 10:59 😨 Address fear in your content creation journey; confront and overcome fears as part of personal growth and channel development.
Having just started my channel about a month ago, I'm definitely grateful to have your advice right away. I've made several changes based on your advice, and I always seem to notice an improvement. It's all on a small-scale mind you, but I'm hopeful it helps the channel grow even faster.
I've recently started making shorts on my channel. The first reason was that I sold licencing to 20 of my old videos to a company for them to use on Facebook and Snapchat. So I thought I'd try doing a similar thing and set up TikTok and started going through some of my 100+ vids. I then thought if I could get the edits under 1min I could also use them as YT Shorts. These shorts have gained me subs and a very small amount of revenue, but a unexpected benifit of editing old videos into shorts is that it's helping me edit my long form videos to cut out a lot more material that really isn't adding much to the overall story.
Give channel examples verbally please , I’m blind and if your showing channels but not verbally saying the channel name , no way to look for the types of channels your talking about
@SR_Rayan, TH-cam is advanced in this area. People can use a device called screen reader that changes text into speech and a blind person can reply via voice text. They scroll over the screen with their finger and it reads the text out loud (very similar to if you ask the computer to read an article out loud - it can convert that into voice). The finger acts as an eye similar to braille but instead of feeling the text they hear it. I don’t work for YT - I’ve just seen this used before.
Great tips. This is like COB, cooking out of the box. Improvising a bit. :) I agree with your point, but would add also "being active and uploading regularly and improving quality". Got my like here.
Nate…”stay in the loop because it’s going to be a ring dinger” I started cracking up on that pun! Hey did you see the energizer bunny got arrested, they charged him with battery. Thanks for the content. Learning a ton from ya.
Great video Nate! Geez, my intros and outtros are absolute show stoppers! like, they actually just stop the show. Something for me to work on - thanks Nate!

See you next week with that planning video! Feel free to share your radical creator moments below also 🎉
Didnt u just post a video on how to win youtube 2024?? 🤔🤔... how many people do u have in ur team? I highly doubt u can do all this Winning on ur own.
So happy your doing good man. I haven't logged into P24 since you left, this is all that is needed. God Bless and DEFINITELY Digging the Alter Ego Ruthless Nick vibe idea. Definitely lean into that and embrace it whole heartedly! Gonna be Epic haha
Ruthless Nick sounds way better than nefarious Nick@@CRUSHEQUITY 👍👍
Im really looking forward to this. I am just working on my planning right now! I have some time to pre record during the holidays and I am moving in the new year (setting up a new studio and all that takes time!), so I am trying to be very specific about which projects I want to work on.
Hi Nick!
Wow thank you 🙏 means a lot to hear that from you!
Agree 100%. My problem is being more cohesive with my channel. I’m going to have to start curating things more, especially my shorts.
Hi Nate. Your punchy on the ball ideas are helping me grow my channel heaps. Looking forward to each one you publish. Cheers Chris.
I feel the same way!!
@@ThatNateBlackyou need to start a TH-cam course for real. I rarely buy TH-camrs courses but I think yours will deliver!!🎉❤
You did a great job. Just read your story. Cool man.
Page is awesome! Your art is incredible and the tips are on point. Keep it up mate 👍🏼
Just subbed 😊
I like your channel, I just subscribed.
@@jjsworld6185Cool. ❤
That’s a great video Nick. Really crushed it.
Love this Nick, great tips!
nefarious Nick! lol
Yes...but his name is Nate. Lol. I am confucious❤...😂or confused
not very polite Nick!
@@brandonw007 that just means you commented before watching
I stopped making shorts months ago and don’t regret it. It have tremendously increased my long form content.
yeah shorts isn't for me either. Just doesn't suit what I'd like to do seeing your channel and your expertise I'm not surprised you've decided to stop too
Shorts have helped me get new traffic to my channel but a lot of material just should not be in a short form video. Gotta do what works for YOU.
Yes, As TH-cam viewers adapt and mature, content creators must adapt and mature.
I love this. To change with your audience.
"Not everyone should do TH-cam shorts" resonates with me so much, I've made this mistake, and it took me a long time to train the algorithm to get the right audience.
Same with me, though i haven't reworked the effects of the shorts on my algorithm
@@realisticfactsirlwhat effects are those?
@@HowToSaveTheWorldTodaythe people who sub to you for shorts will most likely not watch your long form content so your sub to view count will be horrible
Couldn’t agree more. We used to make a lot of shorts but it didn’t translate. Though it helped build subscribers it did not build community or a true audience! All our best!
NATE is getting better at this. His presentation here is his best by far. He seems relaxed, a little dismissive and cooler. I like this guy.
Great tips Nate!
As a small creator, I absolutely relate to that last point 😅
I've been going back and forth about whether I should stick to my current style (more editing, fully scripted) to one that's more authentic (less editing and scripting).
I would recommend trying it, but like what he said in one of his other videos, disable "Push to subscribers", so it can reach a new audience.
To the person who is reading this, don't give up on your channel. Keep going, it's going to be better. 💯
Thank you, this was me last week. I'm gonna make the changes Nate just offered good advice
❤❤❤❤
You honestly give the best advice for content creation. I found you about a week ago and honestly the way you teach all your concepts is so much better than any other channel out there
I agree
Glad to see you’ve started your own channel. Good job, “Nick”
Hey Nate, do you think uploading daily or going live daily will work better moving forward?
Thanks Nick, learned lots 👌✨- great vid!
Thanks!
I like that term "audience focused".
I appreciate you letting me know, thank you! Would love to consult when you’re ready
I love it when content creators point at nothing and there is no end screen or card. It makes me giggle
It’s been working.
thanks Nick. ❣ you're the best.

Great to hear!
The phrase is "top drawer"!
The ringtone with text definitely made me pause and rewind a couple times. I’m going to try and incorporate that somehow in my content! Great video as always, Nate.

I've never related to you more than the "Well... there's my child" I cannot tell you the amount of times I've had to pause filming to take care of the kid haha!
How does the "start in the middle" manifest in the video? I'm kind of having trouble wrapping my head around that concept

Hey Nikolaus, Thanks for the tips.
it's evolving... oh no

THANK YOU NICK FOR THE TIPS.
Send my regards to Nick
My thumbs are a mess, but can only afford a self manicure, and I have the current skills of a woman whose been spun around several times, forced to drink vodka and paint my thumbs whilst blindfolded 😉
I'm still working on improving one thing at a time, and thumbnails are my least favourite.

Here's another vote for Nefarious Nick
Thank you for this! I’ve had the same thoughts about intros. I get so frustrated when people give a 3 minute intro… especially when it’s followed by “let’s jump right into it”
Thank you Nick! Keep going Nick! We're with you Nikc!
Hysterical call back 😂
I learn so much from You Nate - can't wait to watch your next video on planning and conquering fear. I decided to drive my content without fear in 2024 and I'm excited about it. It's educators like you that keep us going! Thanks. Greetings from London, England.
Love the points on finding your audience and the mindset towards shorts!
@NomadOverNormal
Chris,
You are searching for feedback from a community of strangers while ignoring the fact that you have a community of 2,000+ people who like you and your content so much they already told TH-cam to let them know when you publish more content!
We just started our channel a week ago and we can't believe how supportive the TH-cam community has been 😃😄
Don't give up on your channel.
LOTS of good points here like always ! Great show there Nick....LOLOL...
This is such a refreshing video! What about quality VS quantity? A lot of people are saying we need to upload weekly but it's hard to measure how impactful that is when trading off with quality.
More gold shared here - thank you! I might have to revamp my channel in 2024 so your recent vids have been very timely.
Nick White is definitely one of my favorite youtubers. I wonder why no water bottle company is giving him sponsorship 🤔
Hold the phone everyone! We have an OG here!
…haha thanks for the smile this morning 😃! And yes, gotta get a water bottle sponsorship
@@ThatNateBlack haha I'm glad I made you smile! 😀
Good stuff! Appreciate the advice. Looking forward to the planning video, my creation process is sporadic so it’ll be interesting to see
Damnit now I also want Tacos!!
Ahaha 😂 you caught that
I've recently started making shorts on my channel.
Give channel examples verbally please , I’m blind and if your showing channels but not verbally saying the channel name , no way to look for the types of channels your talking about
Blind? How r u writing
@@SR_Rayanmaybe they're not completely blind??
@SR_Rayan, TH-cam is advanced in this area. People can use a device called screen reader that changes text into speech and a blind person can reply via voice text. They scroll over the screen with their finger and it reads the text out loud (very similar to if you ask the computer to read an article out loud - it can convert that into voice).
The finger acts as an eye similar to braille but instead of feeling the text they hear it.
I don’t work for YT - I’ve just seen this used before.
@@Ytvzoey That's cool.
He isn't actually giving channel examples. He is writing on a white board, basically bullet pointing the stuff he says.
Thanks Nate... I might be the slowest growing channel..... no reflection on your advice! I think you are so right on and to the point!
Great tips. This is like COB, cooking out of the box. Improvising a bit. :) I agree with your point, but would add also "being active and uploading regularly and improving quality". Got my like here.
Thank you! I watched another video of yours last night and after watching this one, I decided it’s not something i’m going to focus on
Nate…”stay in the loop because it’s going to be a ring dinger” I started cracking up on that pun! Hey did you see the energizer bunny got arrested, they charged him with battery. Thanks for the content. Learning a ton from ya.
Great video Nate! Geez, my intros and outtros are absolute show stoppers! like, they actually just stop the show. Something for me to work on - thanks Nate!
