It's borderline criminal for someone to own a building and let it rot. It should either be compulsory purchased by the local Council, or the owner should be forced to sell it. There are so MANY opportunities for small businesses, but given the lack of affordable retail units, we're forced to shop online or at corporate retail parks. Very sad state of affairs for the UK in 2024.
He showed 2 empty buildings on a Sunday, one which is a crime seen and top of town that's waiting on planning permission to be reopened as a nightclub again.
Why show Widnes town centre when virtually everywhere is closed. Making my home town look much worse than it is. Only got spoilt when they built the Upton estate for the scousers to move into . Thatcher destroyed the factories and manufacturing in Widnes and basically Widnes has become a massive housing estate with new builds everywhere 😢
As I said on the Rucorn video, we need to know the time of day and day of week this was recorded. That said, there is no excuse for allowing a building to get into the sate of that building at the start of the video. And why do businesses not do any maintenance anymore?
Peoples livelihood, dreams and aspirations here. So where are the people now? What do they do? One day this will all be flattened and rebuilt on. Wont recogise the place.
Widnes was Lancashire until the tories changed the boundaries moved it to Cheshire but at least that's a improvement on Merseyside what I think it's going to become 😮

And a lot of buildings around here are owned by PEEL Holdings (IOM) so they are pretty much untouchable
they prob bought them with debt, and now the property is worth less than the debt they owe. 😂😂@@yardgrid
